Took my new Vault for a shake down ride. GRX build with a set of Bontrager carbon wheels I had and Schwalbe 2.1 Thunder Burt and 50mm G One Overland tires f/r.
Rear tire clearance is limited by tire height, so when test fitting the 2.1 Thunder Burt had a hop in it leaving ~3mm clearance. They're probably going to be limited to shorter 50mm gravel tires or if someone gets lucky with a really round 2.1 MTB tire. Race King/50mm Terra Speed is probably going to be the fastest solution for here in the SW, the Overland is a little shorter, a little slower in testing and knobbier.
Coming off using a CX bike, this thing is amazing. Took it on a 40 mile ride on MTB singletrack and BLM Jeep roads and it was everything I hoped it would be, quite good on singletrack for a rigid bike and the tires rolled and floated very well on every surface.

My favourite book of all time is The Stranger by Albert Camus.
I normally play video games on the PS5, Switch, or PC, but I haven't played too much since I started university.

I also like watching anime, I've been watching Dan da Dan recently.
Some of the music I like includes Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Silverchair, Korn, Slipknot and many more.
I have a really bad habit of picking up new hobbies and putting them back down again, I did it with crochet, ukulele, and soapmaking, lmao.
I'm not really a baker, but I do bake my granny's banana bread recipe from time to time.
I'm not a great conversationalist, but I guess I used to be far worse lol. It's a skill that has to be practiced.
I know this sounds cliché, but if you have ever seen the movie Pulp Fiction where Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega talk about being comfortable with silence. I'm looking for my person who is comfortable with silence and I can vibe with.

I have an SSD that is a volume in a ZFS pool. When I booted with an Ubuntu USB live drive to diagnose some boot issues in my Ubuntu installation, I was able to import the pool and mount the data stores.
I've wanted to switch to Arch and created an install drive. I followed the install instructions, and made the installation to an NVMe drive. I thought the UEFI boot image would allow booting from it (without having to add a separate boot loader), and it did not (doesn't appear in BIOS boot options).
I booted on the Ubuntu live drive and tried to import my ZFS pool. There were no pools found. While troubleshooting, I noticed that the type system of the volumes on the ZFS SSD had changed to iso9661, and labels had been added that all included "arch" somewhere. This included the block device itself (/dev/sdb, /dev/sdb1, and /dev/sdb2). I had never seen a file system type on the block device before like that.
I am absolutely certain that I did nothing in the install sequence for Arch that would have resulted in this knowingly. I used fdisk to create partitions on the nvme drive, and they are there when inspecting from an Ubuntu live boot. These are primary partitions 1 (EFI), 2 (swap), and 3 (/).
Why would an Arch install overwrite the partition table of a drive that I didn't apply any action against? I'm trying to understand conceptually to improve as a user.

So I am bi, came out to my sister on Sunday. My parents do not know their son is queer, they may suspect it but I am not going to be confirming anyone's suspicions anytime soon. I do, however, have an accurate idea of how they will react, the tried-and-true ultimatum of "convert" or leave. My sister told me that my mother did start asking her for info for if I'm y'know, not straight. Sister asked what would happen if I was, apparently it will be a swift disownment. Even if they try to do what they normally do and make themselves out to not be manipulative because they don't "want to see me get hurt", I am just so fucking done. But I am boxed in at the moment, so I have created two plans.
First plan, once I have secured my own funding to my college education either through loans or awards, and taken care of my health insurance, I tell them. If they react with hatred, I leave. If they react better than I thought they would, I wait until they revolt (because they always do), and leave. Either way I leave. If things go much worse than I thought as in there is no way to secure funding to healthcare or a decent education or even a place to live, I will be making my way to Canada. I know Orange Man got elected, so this is a really shitty time to be trying to get on government anything, but my life never had a flair for timing. And I know Canada isn't the promised land, but they got healthcare (I know it's not perfect). In that case I try to get asylum. I have yet to materialize the specifics of my plan as I reached my wits' end last night.
I need some advice on how I can make this whole process easier. Are there national groups for helping queer people who are trying to get away and don't have much money of their own? Up until now I've basically been borrowing everything. I can't even get a job while living with them because they can't control the actual atmosphere down to who I interact with. The last 18 years of my life have been a gilded cage of sorts. I have ulcerative colitis, so I need to try and get on some sort of government healthcare, which I know will probably be disintegrating any day. To make it worse I live in Texas, and apparently Medicaid wasn't expanded so I try to get disability or I am fucked. I'm just realizing how fucked I am for once and I'm kind of scared.
