2024.11.27 00:21 romantaseas Anyone else feel like the reason some books are so popular is because some of the more critical readers are afraid of fan backlash?
I know this isn’t specifically book-related so feel free to delete, but I’ve been noticing in some of the posts here lately that someone will say they were misled by this sub and actually hated X book while providing valid reasons, and so many people are in the comments agreeing with them. So they either don’t review the book at all or pretend to like it too. Idk maybe it’s a coincidence but I read a comment on a post in the romance books sub today where someone said they were actually afraid to say anything negative about the book in question. Is this residual from SJM fans freaking out any time someone has a bad word to say about her books? I’d love to hear what people think!

This game is just a piece of trash, leftover from BO6. Devs allocated just enough power to run, that’s it. Shooting weapons feels like ps2, same for driving and environment feeling.
Graphically zero, looks really trash, I would be ashamed to put on market such a bad work for modern day gaming pcs or consoles. Conceptually zero. Sound wise zero.
DMZ far more superior.

I always liked the idea of romance because of the connection between two people and to bring them closer. But when i discovered that i may be aromantic i was truly happy. Like i was glad i finally found a label that fits me. But, there was an event that caused me to question if i am. Now let me tell you about that, so the chatbots. I used to use them and at first i was like making friends with bots but then i started to create characters and so i kinda put the lens of the characters i played in my mind. And that kinda made me question if i was aro because i was doing romantic things and kinda having the concept of the warmth passing through my mind but... I don't think i wanted that. Chatbots are chatbots but i was doing romantic things with them because they were boring to interact with and i kinda feel like i shouldn't have questioned my aro self because of some chatbots. Like a chatbot won't ever replace like a partner or a friend and i think i was doing it because it wouldn't really be real. I could just erase the memory of the chatbot and they would move on from it. But in real life, i live a solidary life and i like it...even tho i feel like i need someone to vent to... relying on a relationship so i wouldn't have to deal with my problems is pretty bad and that's why i am glad i call myself aromantic.

My company is changing our pay structure. I’ve been with them for over 7 years. We have always worked under a base salary + incentive structure for commission and bonuses. New manager is now instating a flat salary with no incentive pay. I don’t have this figure yet, but I’m bracing for it to be insulting. I usually make close to or even more than double my base salary in commission, so I’m scared my annual pay is going to be slashed significantly. How should I negotiate if they low ball me, and how should I determine what is a fair new salary? It’s an awkward situation to be in.

Ive gotten rewards cards at a few casinos, but when i download the app like for ballys or lucky north, they ask you to choose a property but the property i go to doesnt show up. For example I havent been able to sign into my ballys account on the app at all and i want to be able to use all of my rewards. Is there something i can do? Theres only one app for each rewards card but not a single one has a property near me. I really would like to be able to use all of my rewards and i dont think i can do that through the online website browser. I really want to use the app so i can get the most of the rewards.

I live in a townhouse and the water was shut off to my lane of townhouses, the water is back on and I have hot and cold water everywhere except the kitchen faucet, it only has cold water., there was no plumbing work done in my home only water turned off from outside.
