I have a project where I need to copy JPG image files from one directory to another.
Step 1 of the process is finding the image in the source directory. The challenge of the source directory is its lack of organization, and it's huge. This step takes several minutes.
For step 1, I use glob() to recursively find all JPG files in the source directory and store all file paths in a dataframe.
Step 2 is looping through the list of filenames to copy, find them in the dataframe, then use shutil to copy.
To find the file path of the desired photo I use:
from_dirs = directory_df[directory_df['Directory'].str.contains('filename', regex = True)
This returns a message stating:
UserWarning: This pattern has match groups. To actually get the groups, use str.extract.
Then returns an empty dataframe.
What is the correct method to find the correct source directory in the dataframe?
I think the issue has something to do with the file paths in the dataframe not being stored as raw strings....

Hey All,
Silly question. I am using the front 3 fans as intakes and will have an AIO top mounted for exhaust.
I will try to fit a rear exhaust fan as well dependant on AIO tube position.
With that said, there is a side mount for 2 fans and there's a mount at the bottom of the case for 2 more fans.
Which direction should these fans face with my proposed configuration? Side - in, bottom - out? Vice versa?

 | I think I last had turkey about 15 years ago. My mother was a horrible cook but even a clock is right twice a day and somehow she made turkey that was juicy, tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned with some kind of stuffing that could sl for a lot of money at a restaurant, baked beans that really was good, cheesecake and she'd use the organ meat for that stuffing, yeah, like some kind of miracle every year as a kid I actually looked forward to Thanksgiving for the food. Hey guys, so my partner and I adopted a 2 year old cat from our local shelter. He is known to be a lap cat and he came out to play and for scrarches with us when we went to see him. It looked like we really got along and we adopted him exactly a week ago. He has been vaccinated, desexed, and microchipped.
When we got him home, he bolted to under the bed and he only comes out at night at around 11pm. We are usually awake so when he does come out he sometimes plays with us or he won't come out at all until we go to bed in a different room.
He has 2 litter boxes. He uses one of them and just rolls around on the other. He has his cat trees and toys too, that he plays with us or seems like he plays with them when we're sleeping.
He has no problem using the litter box. But along with that he has also been peeing in other areas of the house - bed (twice), couch, mat. So we figured it could be the soft things and covered the couch and bed with plastic sheets. He's always done this only at night when we're sleeping.
We always make it a point to clean out his litter box immediately or its the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning (if he has used it when we're asleep).
During the day, he has never gotten out of under the bed despite trying to entice him with treats, toys, or catnip. So we've just let him be. But the peeing is getting out of hand. This morning, I woke up to his pee on the kitchen floor and in front of the door (nothing soft here and it's on the tile).
Before this, he came out yesterday, ate, used the litter box (which I then cleaned), played with me and let me brush him, and overall looked really happy with positive signs from his body language.
Vet says nothing is wrong and that it could be that he's scarred in the new place. But the fact that he's peeing sometimes, playing with us, eating all his food (he eats his day's worth when he comes out at night), using the litter box, has us scratching our heads on what to do.
Post ended up being a bit longer, so apologies. We are new cat parents and any sort of help/feedback is appreciated!

I'm writing this because i need to get it off my chest, as i can't really tell anyone i know about this. I might come across as an asshole writing this, but i need to get it off me. I honestly dislike the majority of the people i hang out with, but i feel trapped because i sort of have to be friends with them if I'm gonna continue being in the friend group I'm in. A lot of my friends are honestly not good people. They treat others with very little respect, and put others down. Some of them are absolute idiots who believe they are smart. they explain obvious things in a condescending tone, and believe in absolutely ridiculous conspiracy theories. Some of them are people i just don't really get along with, even though there's not much wrong with them. Some of them openly cheat on their girlfriends, or lie to them. A lot of them lie all the time in general. I feel like a shitty person, because i enjoy hanging out with these people. I can work out with them, drink with them, and play games with them, and i will have a good time. But deep down i don't have respect for the people i spend my time with. I hang out with a lot of people, but there are only four people i actually think are respectable people. out of those 4 i only barely ever see any of them, because of circumstance. I feel like the only options i have are either continuing being friends with people i don't like, or be cripplingly lonely. I honestly don't know if I'm an asshole for feeling like this, or if this is even a common situation to be in at all.

Quite a technical question. I was exploring the toolset of Sony a7iii and other cameras and found the colour pre-editing abilities quite pale. You would say: what about picture profiles? No, I need something more hard, like converting to false colour, or shooting in negative. What would the solutions for this be? 1) create custom LUTs for cameras that allow it 2) install custom firmware (I've researched, seems extremely hard) 3) which other cameras have abilities like that? 4) a phone camera app that has great amount of pre-editing? Or other options?
