I saw this driving home. Yes I'm taking a quick 1 click pic with my phone. Notice the cars on the left coming towards me vs how bright the driver on the rights lights are. The driver of the large lifted truck (go figure) had LEDs on the his license plate frame that were blinding at least 3 car lengths back. There's no need for your license plate to be so viable it's blinding unless your an asshole seeking attention. This shines right into other drivers eyes. I originally thought someone was driving in reverse or a tow truck left someone's lights on when I saw how bright it was.

2024.11.27 02:20 Long_Repair_8779 Are there any other Windows laptop brands with quality comparable to Surface?
I really like my Surface Laptop (i5 10th Gen, 16GB), but I find it lacking power for my needs. I don't have a lot of money but for the right machine I'd consider it. I looked at newer models, but tbh the performance upgrade doesn't seem at all worth it, especially considering cost. I did consider the ARM chips but I think I'd want to wait at least a couple of generations before I actually trust them to spend that kind of money.
I was thinking about other laptop brands, but I've had bad experiences in the past with most of the big ones... Dell, Toshiba, HP, ACER, maybe a couple of others. Surface has been the only company to provide laptops that have the premium experience I want from a device I use several hours a day. Most of my issues from the other brands was due to durability, many shortcuts throughout the entire build. I guess they were more budget options but still, they rarely lasted more than 3 years, and I never enjoyed using them.
The only other brand I did get on with was Sony VAIO, they were built to last - even their cheaper models, weren't full of crap software, and generally felt premium. Sadly they discontinued.. I know a new company makes them now, I don't know what they're like but they don't look as good as the ones I used to have.
So essentially I want a Windows Laptop with premium build quality comparable to Surface, processing power that doesn't suck (and/or ideally a design that isn't so prone to thermal throttling under load - my laptop doesn't feel fluid or fast like my desktop, even when it's running a fresh install of Windows), and maybe a discrete GPU (doesn't need to be anything special just to boost it a bit. I guess that's kind of a tall order, but many premium laptops have at least a good CPU, Surface just... Doesn't.

2024.11.27 02:20 Flimsy_Gas_1385 Alopecia Areata in Toddlers
My daughter is 3.5 and has two small oval shaped bald spots on her head. We see the doctor next week and she hasn't officially been diagnosed with alopecia areata (yet).
The first spot showed up randomly in September and there still isn't any signs of regrowth...like one little regrowth hair. This weekend, I noticed anther smaller spot hear the front of her hair line in her bangs.
If you have alopecia areata as a toddler or small child, is it something you still struggle with now? Or was it temporary? I'm trying really, really hard not to fixate on it but I'm just so worried for her and her self-image. The spot on the top of her head is quite big, probably a toonie (we're Canadian) in diameter. I know hair isn't everything, but pretty soon she's going to start noticing it herself..
I just need some words of encouragement :(

So I’ve been replaying Lego Dimensions recently and in the second level in the stonecutter’s lodge area, when I go to get the mini kit connected to the tv, it’s not complete so I can’t do the puzzle, and can’t exit the puzzle when I enter it, this has happened across 2 save slots, and I’m on the Xbox version. I’m just wondering if there is a way around this? I’ve seen that other people can do this so I’m not sure what’s going on here. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also sorry for how the picture looks, it’s on a tv.

I was looking back at an old comment of mine in one of the question posts I have for touhou lore (over here) I said that for the past 28 years zun has managed to portray every incident that has happened in gensokyo accurately (to some degree) and some of the cast of touhou are aware of this and are somehow okay with it. In one of the comments they said that Kosuzu literaly has a figurine of herself.
So I decided to come here again to ask a question and that is how the heck does Zun know how every incident is played out and how is he even a hinted at character in Touhou? And How are some of yokai okay with knowing what people outside of gensokyo know who and what they are?
Also how does Kosuzu have a figurine of herself?
