I bought a Veritas Dovetail Saw 14 Tpi, Standard. Do i need to do something to it, since its brand new? Additional information:
( or it might be 16tpi rip cut,i forgot) Ive used it for few hours and im getting progressively better at using it. Im pretty sure most of the difficulties are due to inexperience, applying too much grip pressure etc. Im just wondering if I need to do something to it, since for example new chisels and planes you have to flatten, which isnt part of the usual maintenance sharpening. I know i have to at some point sharpen the teeth but otherwise i dont really know anything else.

I'm writing an app to get my Bangle to connect to a simple ESP32 Arduino BLE peripheral I wrote, and for things like this it would often be helpful to supplement the documentation with seeing how working apps are pulling it off.
I don't understand why this is so hard -- when I use the "storage" feature in the IDE I can download my own programs back, and they look just like I wrote them. But store apps are almost always minified, and worse, often have a bunch of binary gibberish mixed in with the code. I'm confused as to what that is. Some sort of precompiled cache or something? Tokenized code? Some apps come with libraries that don't have the ".js" extension, and sadly, those usually are both afflicted by the binary weirdness and contain all the interesting bits.
For example, I downloaded "Cycling Speed Sensor", which auto-installed something called "blecsc" to do the actual BLE connection; "cscsensor.app.js" will load into the IDE in minified form, the more interesting "blecsc" can only be downloaded and is both minified and full of binary garbage I don't know how to decode. Other apps look semi-normal but might contain directly-embedded binary font data or other strangeness that doesn't make sense to me in a .js file.
It just seems weird and antithetical to the hacky nature of the Bangle. But mainly I also don't understand WHY store apps look different from the ones I wrote myself like this making them so much harder to read. What is all this weirdness I don't understand in the filesystem of my open smartwatch?

across the board almost no one seems understand the concept of ocd and intrusive thoughts
When I tell them āI struggled with intrusive thoughtsā they look at me like iām crazy when i describe what OCD is
I was talking to a friend and said:
- Me: āI used to struggle with intrusive thoughts. I donāt want to tell you what they were about but It was just essentially ocd but iām happy i recovered with therapy and working outā
- Them: āwhat do you mean did you want to hurt yourself? you were feeling sad about yourself? you can tell meā
- Me: āno they were about something else. OCD is when people have reoccurring unwanted intrusive thoughts. Usually these thoughts have a āthemeā and represent the opposite of what they want. This wasnāt my theme but for example someone could have an intrusive thoughts like āyou should hurt that personā and they might do an ocd compulsion to relief them from that thought because they do not like that thought that person does NOT want to kill anyone. ever. itās the complete opposite of what someone wants to do actually. intrusive thoughts are involuntaryā
- Them: āthat sounds really negative. you shouldnāt think that. i thought intrusive thoughts were just like a funny tiktok thing. youā¦wanted to kill people?ā
- Me: āagain my thoughts were not about killing people it was something else. however if someone did have those thoughts that doesnāt mean they want to kill peopleā
This isnāt the only time this has happened. But itās literally one of the most common disorders. you hear about
My method of getting better was by working out and therapy. itās been 3 years and Iāve fully recovered since. but itās funny to see how people donāt understand it

2024.11.27 03:30 jireddd I'm testing a kiln fiend list I've been brewing, any suggestions for improvements?
The list: Kiln Fiend Spellslinger
The idea is to get out [[Kiln Fiend]] and [[Goblin Electromancer]] to pump kiln fiend's power by casting spells to draw more cards to cast more spells. [[Fling]], [[Slip Through Space]], and [[Fists of Flame]] are the main way to get kiln fiend to deal damage.
The big thing I'm unsure about is my sideboard/mainboard. I feel like my main deck pretty much just plays my game while leaving the opponent alone. From playtesting, I can get somewhat consistent 20+ damage trample/unblockable swings or flings on turn 4, and pretty good consistency by turn 5, but that's not accounting for opponent disruption/removal. I think I should have some amount of interaction in the main deck, but I don't know how much I'd swap in/out.
Any feedback would be appreciated as I've pretty much only played casual pauper.
