This is really serious problem for me. I’m a filipina and I am 28years old I was married to a filipino guy way back 2016, this year my Muslim divorce is done with the help of my Indian boyfriend. His parents don’t know I am married before only my boyfriend does and we are planning to marry. Now our problem is this CENOMAR here in the philippines it will show my previous marriage record and had divorce which my boyfriend doesn’t want to take in india because of his parents they will say him not to marry me because of my status 😢 I will so stress right now and hopeless about this. I want to know is there anyone here indian and divorced filipina got married? I want to know if there is any chance or any hopes how we can fix this. And if he is getting my cenomar and taking it to india is there possible way that not to show my divorce papers and my previous marriage record? 2024.11.27 04:50 zenyattaishere_ Am I a bad person for leaving, filing divorce, and wanting assets to be split after I said I wouldn’t want any money?
Hey all. I made the first big step a few weeks ago and moved out. We’ve been together for roughly 10 years, married for 2 years.
There were warning signs before this past year, like him being possessive, caring too much what others think, stealing my meds, and acting aggressive (punched a hole through a door a few years back).
I could tolerate the above (although I know I shouldn’t have) but this year has escalated so much. This year he has started: saying I’m stupid, I don’t understand anything, he needs to speak down to me so I can understand what he’s saying because I’m so dumb, I need to lose weight (not that it matters but I’m 140lb at 5’3), that our dog would die if I took him if we divorce (I do all of our dog care, like taking him to the vet, giving him his daily meds, etc), I’m a failure and would be homeless without him, etc etc.
Anyways, just the most horrible things.
I think he had a psychotic break of some sort because back in June of this year, he thought I was out to kill him, that people bugged our house and were listening in, etc. He also quit his job all of a sudden. it was an awful and scary time. He ended up physically abusing me because of this.
Idk what happened to him, but I have since left and am in my own apartment now.
He has promised to get therapy,and he did for a few weeks, but his therapist said he made progress so he stopped going and never told me. I ended up finding out. Now he’s promising to do therapy again, get a psych evaluation and take domestic violence courses. I don’t believe he will actually follow through, because he is already making excuses to not do these things.
Now onto my question. Am I a bad person if I go through with the divorce and ask that our assets be split? I would end up getting money from this divorce (I already have a lawyer, and our only shared asset is our house which was a marital purchase). I’m also scared because my lawyer said the longer I stay, the more likely it is that I would have to pay spousal support, which I DO NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THIS MAN. I told him I wasn’t going to go after any money, but after all the stuff he’s put me through this year, I feel like I’m entitled to something. I can’t help but feel guilty. But should I feel guilty? To add, part of the reason I feel guilty is because he did buy the house with his parents money (they both passed away) and he said I’m taking money from dead people and I don’t deserve it, and that his parents would hate me.
Idk, sorry for the long post. It feels good to get all this off my chest. I am in therapy too, btw.

I have a lot of experience with grant writing. I'm leaving for all the reasons people talk about on this sub, and I'm just not that into my field of study anymore. Looking at a position with a management consulting firm doing proposal writing, it seems very marketing-focused. Has anyone found success with this type of work? Was the transition difficult?
