So tonight I called upon Vassago because I lost a dog. Not my dog, but a friend's dog that I was dog sitting. She bolted out as I was trying to put her on the chain to go potty.
An hour and a half went by and I couldn't find her and finally I got the bright idea to call upon Vassago for help, as he is supposed to reveal lost things.
I turned on his enn in my car as I drove around and not 10 min later she appeared. She took off again and I kept searching. 15 min later two young men stopped me and asked if I lost a dog - I said yes and they helped me find and catch her within 20 minutes!!
I FULLY believe Vassago helped with this and I'm so, so grateful.
I'll be doing some divination to the offering to him for this success. I know he wants me to donate $100 in his name somewhere, but not sure where. Leaning towards our humane society to help dogs find homes.
Either way, I'm beyond grateful.

Back when I was in high school, I was living in an apartment complex with my father and stepmother. One night, I had a friend sleeping over. Both my father and stepmother were out and my friend and I were at the apt alone.
It was about 11 pm to 1130 pm when there was a knock at the door. I opened the door, and two police officers were standing in the other side. They pushed their way in and started asking us questions (whose alcohol is that? my parent's. Why do you have books on witchcraft? I like to study different religions. ) Before leaving they told me that my neighbor complained that we were making too much noise and told us to keep it down. We weren't making noise, but whatever.
About 30 minutes later my stepmother came home and I told her about what had happened. She said she would take care of it and told my friend and me to go to bed.
The next morning...
I asked my stepmother about what happened last night. She said that she called the cops on the neighbor for a noise complaint. The cops showed up and knocked on the door. The neighbor would only talk to them through the door and told them they would need a warrant before they would open the door. The cops left and...
They came back with a warrent. Upon entering the apt they found drugs, drug paraphernalia, and alcohol. Not everyone in that group was of age. My neighbor was arrested for possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
TL;DR: My stupid neighbor wrongfully called the cops on me, so my stepmother turned the tables and called the cops on them. My VERY stupid neighbor got arrested for drugs.

The past year I’ve woke up 3-4 times struggling to catch my breath, but the past 2-3 it’s been so much worse. I’ve woke up struggling to breath (feels like my throat is blocked off, but soon as I calm down and breath easy and get some water it’s fine), if I sneeze twice in a row or cough reallt big then it has the same effects I get as mention when I wake up. I don’t smoke, don’t drink, but I am a little bigger than I should be. It scared me when it happened last year but, It’s never been a concern til now. Anyone else dealt with this stuff? Hey Simmers!
So my game is virtually unplayable without Reshade. Everything about the coloring is just abysmal. My desktop gaming pc is about four years old, but in theory is fully capable of running the game with no issues - and does so. My graphics are still as high as the game allows with no performance issues. Here are some pictures for reference:

The upper left sides of the images are without Reshade - dull and lifeless and no saturation. Bottom right has a preset tweaked a lot to my liking. However, I've still never been able to find the perfect preset. So I'm looking for your help! What are your favorite presets?
What I Look For When I Choose Presets:
- Bright
- Moderately more saturated
- Smooth edges
- Noise reduction for textures like woods, TV screens, etc.

2024.11.27 04:29 Key_Gift_4382 How much of your portfolio should be speculative?
Hi everyone! I wanted to bounce some ideas. I'm currently age 30 with 500k net worth - mostly investments, very little debt, no house or mortgage. I'm currently single and renting with roommates. Current total comp is around 200k.
This is currently a mix of: - about half (~225k in retirement accounts, maybe a 50/50 split between Roth and Traditional. Some is in FXAIX, some is in a target date fund which has international exposure) - about half (~275k in non retirement accounts - cash, crypto, company stock, brokerage, etc)
I don't have a great idea of my future lifestyle plans yet (eg owning a home, kids, getting married). I'm currently single and renting. So it's hard to project how much I really need. I'll consult generic articles titled something like "How much you need to retire in each state", and it'll usually spit out a nest egg between like 700k and 2million, but also might assume social security will help.
Ive been maxing out my 401k the last 7 years or so. I was hypothesizing: once I hit a coast fire for a "worst case scenario" retirement (eg age 70, minimum to live in a state based on various articles, low real returns like 3-4%, maybe a 4.5% withdrawal rate), should I consided being aggressive / speculative with the non-retirement money I have, with the aims of lowering that number from 70. I think I can hit the coast amount soon (before 35) or possibly now if I can backdoor some money into my retirement accounts. Also worst case, I might be able to EXPAT to a cheaper country
On one hand, I can probably stay the course and comfortably retire by 59.5 at worst. On the other I can gamble and say at worst I'll retire at 70, but maybe I can throw the non retirement pile on crypto or something and try to retire somewhere between 30 and 70.
I feel like bogleheads would say one thing and wsb would say another, so I'm not asking specifically in those subs.
My thinking though is that once I get to that coasting number and if I stop shoveling into the 401k besides the match in my early 30s, I would still have some decent cash flow to recover because I'm still young, do alternative things like save for a house or for kids if that comes about, or continue to make investments. Is the answer just: you do you, that's the freedom that coasting buys you?
I think it's unlikely I'll buy a home soon despite being able to put together a down payment on a smaller home. Most markets aren't great for buying now and I'm single and might prefer to buy with a long term partner
It's tempting to gamble and try to sprint to the end, but I've also sacrificed a fair bit to get to this point such as living at home or with multiple roommates my whole life. Maybe just staying the safer course (bogleheads approach), living alone for the first time and focusing on dating, and easing up a little bit on the frugality is an option too. Sometimes the fire grind gets exhausting
Does anyone believe in crypto enough to say maybe invest $100k on Bitcoin/ETH and hold and maybe it'll outpace the stock market over 20 years? I don't think I'd drop 100k on day trading or meme coins or options like in WSB (though maybe I'd consider playing around with a smaller amount like 25k if I build up some literacy/research). Tbh, I don't have much investing literacy besides knowing index funds are good. Further I think my asset allocation hasn't been the best so far. For example, I have more in cash than I probably should, and I've made dumb mistakes like that where if I was more savvy/financially smart maybe id be worth 600k-1mil by now if I was just in S&P and a healthy emergency fund. This might be making me a little antsy to do something risky too to make up for missed gains, but I know this is a problematic
Open to any advice, include wise advice like "please don't light your money on fire". I know this is a little bit of a disconnected ramble

hi guys!
i turned 18 recently and one of my very first orders of adult business is changing my name.
just want to say that if you or someone you love is a clementine, this is not meant to be hateful! this is just my experience bearing this name. there is nothing inherently wrong with it.
my name is clementine, and i'm going to be honest, it has done me much more harm than good. the CONSTANT, and i do mean CONSTANT singing. 90% of people i introduce myself to break into a musical number. and it never. stops.
everyone resorting to the nickname 'clem', which i detest (sounds like phlegm). my boyfriend calls me emmy which is the only nickname i remotely tolerate. all & all i just feel like it's too cutesy and is more suited for a toddler than a woman. my MOM has confessed that she didn't exactly consider how it would age. i honesty cringe every time i hear it. the only redeeming factor is sharing a name with an elliott smith song, but even IT references the song. i can't win for losing.
my middle name is just blatantly not a name, so we aren't going to even go there lmao.
i like the idea of clementine (whimsicalish i guess?) but in application it has just been a nightmare. i don't really know where to start with renaming myself! i'm wasian (japanese & polish) with a long, aggressively polish surname. i'd like something maybe vaguely similar but more.. dignified, i guess?
the only name i have so far is mina, which i like, but doesn't feel totally right. i would also like to hear some middle name suggestions!
