Hey everyone,
Sorry for the vague post. Essentially, I am about to start my second year of grad school and for a few years, I've promised to treat myself to a sort of fancier fountain pen to kind of commemorate getting into my program and use it in the lab for notes. Well, I ended up buying a Lamy safari in the end last year, which I have loved, but recently I'm craving a finer nib than my medium, and considering gerting a new pen while I'm at it.
I don't quite know all that's out there so l was hoping to come here and see if someone might be selling something they reckon is a good fit for me or could recommend me one.
I want something a bit nicer, possibly in the 100-200$ range but that is worth that price. I think something themed or pretty would be really fun. One thing I have my eye on is the hex pen, since I'm in biochemistry and work a lot with DNA, but I heard that it's got some issues with yellowing and such, so I cant really rationalize the price. If you might know of science themed pens, that would right up my alley. Or maybe just something that's a bit unique or you think looks quite stunning. I like the idea of the new Harry potter pens, but I'm sadly not a fan of the series, so if you know of something similar as well that you are a fan of, then I would be interested as well!
I apologize for the vagueness since I myself don't really know exactly what I want but I would love to hear from you all either way. Thanks!

I set up NextDNS using the following guides:
Under basic setup:
Ignore WAN DNS -->Enabled
Use dnsmasq for DNS --> disabled
Under services:
SmartDNS Resolver --> Enable Resolver --> Enabled
Added DoH server under Additional Options
Dnsmasq Infrastructure --> Enable dnsmasq --> Enabled
JFFS2 Support --> Enabled
It was working well, I have a Schedule Reboot enabled everyday, I woke up and there was no internet connection. So, I had to disable the SmartDNS Resolver and enabled ignore WAN DNS first and then follow these steps again to make it work.
May I know why is this happening and how to solve this problem? Thank you.

Im just ranting. Ive only been here for a few months. Am I working too hard or something? I had a closing shift and I want to get out before my scheduled time. I was scheduled to close with a manager I usually don't close with and another closer I have never closed with alone. The other closer has been here for atleast 3yrs but they were so SLOW. It's not like they've never closed before. I assure you they've closed alot more than I have. I did 90% of the close!! We got out super late because of them. I don't yell at people. I have never used an angry tone when I talk to someone but I think I should have. Is our scheduled clock out time a suggestion?? I love this place and I wanna move up in the ranks. I guess I need to communicate and grow a backbone.

Is it better to focus on learning io or nio? I already know the basics of io like reading files, writing, comparing files and etc. I just started the java roadmap and it goes over the Path API so now Im unsure which to use. I tried searching but I cant get a clear answer. Is one more useful or widely used than the other?

I don't think that Viktor is the mage that saves baby Jayce. Hear me out. This is Arcane we are talking about. "Show don't tell" is the lifeblood of this show and we are not explicitly shown that the hooded figure is Viktor. Enlightened Viktor's hood and robes are colorful with the corruption that his magic spreads. It is not something he can control. Also, we get a pretty good shot of his hand when he sends Jayce back and there are no tattoos. *Straight from the League of Legends Wiki:* The Void is a nightmarish dimension said to exist outside space and time, where terrifying living weapons were wrought to win an ancient and long-since ended war. No-one truly understands how the Void came into existence, but tales of its terrible denizens have wormed their way into the dream consciousness of almost every culture's legends, creation myths, and dark folktales. Those few scattered grimoires and madmen that dare speak of the Void at all speak of it as an infinite realm of unfettered creation, tortured landscapes of crazed organic machinery, magical weapon-looms and mountainous flesh-forges. None have yet ventured into the Void and lived, for mortals would almost certainly be consumed and woven into the endless process of creation.
In places where the mystical barriers between Runeterra and the Void have been worn thin, the air feels charged, and fantastical occurrences are the norm. Rivers run with vibrant colors, flowers bloom with incredible perfumes, and living beings experience psychedelic visions and surges in magical power. For a time, such places are wondrous and brimming with miracles, but soon the landscape is twisted into new and deadly forms, and if the Void is able to consume enough biomass to survive, it can grow and evolve into something ferocious and terrifying.
Ramblings of a madman: I think we tend to forget that Viktor has changed more than any other character in the show other than Vander. It's a frog in the pot of boiling water situation because we are shown Viktor's changes very gradually. Heimerdinger is the first to notice that something is different about him but by the end of the show you can't really miss it. He goes from looking a little healthier, to magic metal leg, then leg and hand, to Arcane Jesus, to biblically accurate Viktor. Also, we see the Hexcore evolve from dumb machine that doesn't even work, to trying rune combinations on its own, to a thing that looks organic and doesn't even have visible runes anymore. My theory is that Viktor has been touched by The Void from a young age. He was playing assistant to Singed down in that cave with the void flowers so between that and the fissure gasses I think it's safe to assume he was exposed. He has a vision after coughing up blood inside the Hexgate, when staring at the core after it absorbs his blood, and when he's all spaced out and touches it. Which means since the Hexcore began evolving, The Void was present. The Hexcore is essentially a magic computer, but it can't work without input. Enter Viktor's void-touched blood and it comes alive but doesn't really do much until he realizes "It responds to organic matter!". Sound familiar?? I think the blood is like code being injected into it, and the only part of his blood that knows how to interact with magic is the void. It is feeding on the plants and gaining energy but that's about it at this point. Later Viktor injects Shimmer which provides the protection he needs to interact with the Hexcore. After this the Hexcore is radiating energy like crazy so there must have been some leftover from the transmutation. Then Viktor sends it again even though he's out of Shimmer and Sky gets absorbed. Only Viktor's hand gets transformed even though he had runes carved all over and the Hexcore takes on its void-like look but seems to have less energy than before. There's a whole equivalent exchange thing going on here but also it shows that the Hexcore can adapt. Sky being absorbed was not part of Viktor's plan, but it balanced the equation nicely. Then finally Jayce does an uh-oh and brings the Hexcore closer to Viktor without even wondering why it looks so different. The cocoon imagery here mirrors the butterly/moth imagery associated with the anomaly and signifies that this change is different than the others. Viktor and the void-touched Hexcore are fused completely. Viktor, Sky, the shimmer, the plants, and the Hexcore (including its components and memory) are combined into one being. He isn't himself anymore and can't feel cold or describe the impulse he feels (pretty sure it's hunger for biomass). The whole time Viktor thinks he is healing people, he is absorbing/integrating them. Sky represents his connection with his own humanity, and it doesn't go away until he willingly kills Vander to gain power. This is where the actual theory part comes in. The anomaly in the Hexcore is literally just a result of the Hexcore being connected to Viktor's blood and interacting with the Hexgate core. It is reacting and inverting the energy every time the gates are used and growing the anomaly. Ekko creates his just by playing with inversions of Jayce's acceleration rune so it should be as simple as that. It's positive and negative time magic bound to itself. Endless possibilities in both directions wound back on themselves. A singularity, self-replicating and self-annihilating. It's everything and nothing. A pure expression of duality, the main theme of the show. But since Ekko, being the boss he is, decides to make one to save the day...NOW THERE ARE TWO OF THEM! This is why biblically accurate Viktor is so confused by it. How can there be two of everything and nothings? They don't start from the same point or have the same amount of energy. The way they are shown is mirrored. One starts out big but becomes small when Viktor takes/confines it and the other starts out small but grows big as Ekko throws/releases it. If you look closely when Ekko's anomaly impacts Viktor's face, it is also impacting his staff/the other anomaly. I think this is why time seems to stop while Jayce is able to reach the real Viktor inside the machinery. They use Jayce's acceleration rune to channel the energy from the anomalies colliding and are pulled out of time/reality. It is my theory that the enlightened Viktor is our Viktor and has gained mastery over himself/the Hexcore and time. Viktor wasn't wrong when he called the anomaly a conjuration because when enlightened Viktor sends Jayce back, he just makes an anomaly appear in his hand. I think Viktor has knowledge of all timelines and all possibilities which is why he says what he says to Jayce. He didn't say out of all the times I meddled with time to bring about my own existence, only the acceleration rune worked. He says you understood me more than anyone else and were the only person able to talk me off the ledge throughout all of the multiverse. We don't know if this is true for Ekko and Jinx but I think that time daddy Viktor sent him and Heimer both where they needed to be. 3 years for Vander and Silco to work things out and stabilize the underground and 3 years for Heimer to start influencing politics and support Zaun. Ekko drops in the exact right place to create the Z-Drive and save the day.
Details that led me to my theory: * The Void is good at breaking things down and repurposing them rapidly (Oh that sounds like Shimmer). * The Void spreads its influence if not contained or starved. (Remember the pink/purple creeping fungus stuff in season 1 when they are testing Shimmer on Deckard?) * The Void is implied in season 1 to be present in the fissures and responsible for Rio's mutation due to eating the void-touched flowers in the cave. (They're turning the friggin salamanders gay!) * Singed creates a compound from the mutation that allows Rio to not only survive eating void-touched flowers but grow to be huge. (Shimmer harnesses the void but also limits its effects) * Sevika has a new arm that is powered by Shimmer. (There is chemical potential energy in Shimmer as part of the cocktail) * Viktor has a disease or, my theory, a mutation/cancer likely due childhood exposure to gasses in the fissures. (The Void mutates living things it comes into contact with) * Jayce and Viktor don't know what individual runes even do until they activate them. (The arcane doesn't speak through them) * Viktor creates the Hexcore to be more flexible than the system they have been using. (It can think/evolve/adapt) * Viktor coughs up blood over the railing inside the Hexgate, has a vision, and books it to the lab. (I am convinced he has already created the Hexcore at this point and we see it for the first time when Jayce is introduced to it after going to check on Viktor). * The Hexcore reacts with Viktor's blood pre-shimmer and begins to work through rune combinations without input from the handles. (The Hexcore begins to evolve) * Viktor juices up with shimmer, carves runes into his leg/brace, and sends it. (The Hexcore seems to have more energy after this) * The Hexcore absorbs Sky. (The Hexcore gains sentience after this. Shown when it shrinks and squirms as Viktor attempts to smash it, then retaliates) * Heimerdinger spots a corrupted area on the ground inside the core/failsafe chamber under the Hexgate. (Remember when Viktor coughed up that blood? Remember how Jayce and Viktor go straight from the failsafe room to the top without having to pass through any hatches or valves?) * The anomaly is described by Viktor as a sophisticated conjuration/singularity that is self-replicating and self-annihilating. (Sounds like it's alive to me) * Ekko friggin' creates his own anomaly by inverting Jayce's acceleration rune. (The mobius strip imagery really sells the idea that the anomaly is just time/acceleration magic closed in on itself)
These may seem jumbled but it's the route my train of thought took to come up with this.

2024.11.27 05:30 HarmonyDragon Is T3 not tested anymore?
I noticed it with my new endocrinologist that she just tested TSH and T4 on October but didn’t think anything of it because no more thyroid. Them today I was looking over my daughter’s lab request form showing her how to read it, she is 17, when I noticed her endocrinologist only order T4 and TSH.
So is T3 not tested anymore is it added later on once the thyroid begins to get damaged by Hashimoto’s?
She is unmedicated because nothing but antibodies pointed to Hashimoto’s last year but she has gained at least 6 more symptoms since then and two are making her school day very difficult so she is asking to be medicated based on symptoms not numbers.

Anyone else read the guidelines for Black Friday and saw that we can’t use our employee discount on the products on sale this week? I feel like I recall last year that we could use it as long as it wasn’t on items marked 50% off. It’s interesting that this is only for this week but for Cyber Monday there aren’t restrictions… just seems a bit odd. When i was younger at night my bedroom window was facing a little plaza lot and i remember seeing people shapes that were moving up and down the steps leading to the plaza sometimes multiple i told my mom about it a couple times but she didnt really know what i was talking about and she prolly didnt notice anything. it went on for as long as i was purposely looking for them i remember just sitting on my bed looking at then forblong periods of time, im almost certain they were not dark more bright if anything becuase i could see them through my thin curtains but my only memories of it are a blur i was prolly 8-9 and i just a few min ago remembered these people. Im not a ghost believer ive personally never really seen anything crazy exept for that and was wondering if anyone could debunk or inform on what that coulda been. I can send a picture to anybody of google earth if they need now that its at my old house sorry for bad spelling message or comment any question that could help or even help me remember
