Hi Reddit,
I recently received a job offer that's contingent on a background check. During the process, I specifically requested that they not contact my current employer. I wanted to ensure I had the full offer before giving my notice, and honestly, I felt it was a respectful approach.
However, out of nowhere, an executive at my current organization called me and told me they are putting me in for a raise. He even asked what I want in terms of monetary value and a new role title/description. This came as a complete surprise as I was informed in October they couldn’t give me any more raise.
Now, I’m wondering: Is it possible the background check company ignored my request and went ahead to contact my employer anyway? Or could this just be a coincidence?
Would appreciate your thoughts on how to handle this! Should I follow up with the background check company, or just assume it’s unrelated?

I’ve taken this drug since April, and my first dose came in orange bottles. But since my doc has upped my dose, it now comes in blister packs, which would could be tolerable on its own, but the paper doesn’t tear off to the pill, so I have to tear another layer and I end up leaving such a mess of them on my bedside table. Maybe the irritability side effect is kicking in lol but this has just become really annoying to me. I’m just wondering if anyone else has this problem with the packaging. Mine is the 30mg dose, disintegrating tablets. Would it be too much to ask my doc to switch to a different type that doesn’t come in blister packs or would they all come like that at my dose?

- if a country slicer is selected with Global = it will display all Items on which Country column met the selection + all the Items with "Global" disregarding which country its from
- if a country slicer is selected with Local = it will only display all the items that matches the country column disregarding the calculation column.
