2024.11.27 06:30 Thy_Pebbelz Part 2 of the COMPLETE doors guide: More complicated random entities.
So, I know way too much about the game, so what better way to put it to use than explain as much as I can, for beginners, or to teach something new to veterans.
Today, we'll cover the mor complicated non-boss entities.
Halt: If you enter a spooky teal dining room, make sure you don't stop moving forward, and don't panic. When a reverse symbol flickers onto your screen, that's when you need to turn around. Rinse and repeat until you find yourself out of the room. If halt gets you, he'll deal 40hp and turn around again. This means, if you take damage to halt, it's another time you'll need to turn around.
Ambush: He's very recognisable from a distance as the loud vacuum cleaner. It's rare for ambush to flicker the lights. After a while, his spawning noise will get quieter, before loundening and closing in. His pathing is identical to that of rush, so find a hiding spot or a safe space. After he's moved past you, hop out of your space and prepare to hide again. Ambush will rebound up to 6 times, so make sure he's gone completely silent before you move forward.
Dupe: "Oohhh... Shortcut!" is what too many a player first thought of duped doors. If you enter a room with multiple exit doors, don't just go for the big number thinking you can skip a room or two. You need to stay on the main progression of the doors. For example if you enter door 13, and you see doors 14 and 15, you need to enter door 14. Going through a fake door will result in taking damage akin to screech, and said fake door now completely shut. If you lose track of door numbers, their are a few good fixes (note that every previous door opened will scramble its number in a dupe room). You can hear dupe growling on the other side of a fake door. If the real door has a window on the other side, you can hear the rain on that side of the door, and quite easily know it's real. If there are 3 options of doors, the real door is always the median of those 3. Duped doors can be locked as well, so you'll need to put to use knowledge on keys as well.

2024.11.27 06:30 Rasputin5332 What are the most unique roguelites that you've played OR that you're looking forward to?
I’ve played most of the big, popular ones like Dead Cells, Hades, Slay the Spire, Enter the Gungeon. Other that those, I’ve also had plenty of fun in more niche roguelites that have popped up over the years, about a dozen or so, like Astral Ascent and more recently — Tiny Rogues and Sulfur.
Sorry for the name-name dropping but I just want to give you a sense of what ground I’ve already covered in the genre. I think I spent more time combined in roguelites this year than any other single game (or genre, for that matter). If I had to say which were my favorites, I’d probably single out Enter the Gungeon and Tiny Rogues as the “classic” ones that gave me the most bang for my buck. Never was much into bullet hells until I played them, and I got hooked pretty fast. The most original one tho is also the most recent one I found – Sulfur. The way it combines boomer shooter and RPG gear-fear into a roguelite just felt very fresh, and even though the game’s early access there’s still a lot of weapons to unlock and upgrade + the difficulty is really brutal in the beginning, which was right up my alley.
So, I wanna know if there’s anything brilliant out there in the roguelite genre which I missed so far. AA or indie recommendations are more than welcome too, since they’re the core of what I play these days! :D

2024.11.27 06:30 Dramatic_Role2570 What in the unironic FUCK just happened during my last Inkfell match
So here I am, playing Inkfell, I get Fazbear Frights, I'm thinking "time to go GOATed" and get ready to lobby wipe. Come down to the last 2 people, they run and are camping where the security office is.
I see I have more than a minute left, so I decide to set up portals to block them so there's no possible way they can escape from me without hitting a portal (like any smart Inkfell player would do).
Remember this, I specifically set up a portal in the Party Room that's right next to the kitchen (that one useless room that has all the annoying tables in it).
So anyway, I set up my portals, there's no way they could've left because they never got highlighted, but lo and be-fucking-hold, these two assholes aren't in the Security office anymore. And they never once got highlighted by my portals either, and I know there's literally no way that's possible because I made sure all the possible choke points were portaled.
Now get this shit, I find them in that same Party Room - there's NO FUCKING PORTAL IN THERE - and then I take a second to look around, and guess what? Half of my portals are fucking MISSING.
Even though I set up 6 portals, I never used Devil's Rage and I never teleported, 3 of my portals were just fucking gone like they never existed. I got fucked out of the easiest win of my life because of this shit, what gives?
The worst part is these two assholes thought it was hilarious how I lost and started talking massive amounts of shit to me in the chat.
Yes I'm pissed off, shit like this shouldn't be happening. Don't care if a monster has to take longer to release, don't release them as a bugged out fucking mess.
