2024.11.27 07:40 bastiancointreau Tax code change after self-assessment
I received a notification this morning that my tax code was changed from 1393L to 1114LX.
On the website they say:
“We changed this because:
your Personal Pension Payments has been reduced from £1,438 to £377 we estimate you have underpaid £247 tax this year”
The 2 main things that changed in the 2023/2024 return compared to the 2022/2023 were medical benefits and contributions to SIPPs.
- Medical Benefits: £44 in 22/23 and £70 in 23/24
- Payments to registered pension schemes where basic rate tax relief will be claimed by your pension provider (called ‘relief at source’). Enter the payments and basic rate tax: £2875 in 22/23 and £3769 in 23/24
- Total of any ‘one-off’ payments in box 1: £0 in 22/23 and £3015 in 23/24
I do intend to make the same contributions next year to my SIPP, so what should I do? Can I amend my return? And how? Should I just put £0 in the one-off box if I intend to make the same level of contributions next year?

Also review from the folks who have used the nexon for >1 year. Also is it good to buy the car in december or should I wait for january? this will be applicable only if I select nexon, however for 3x0 I am hearing the waiting time >3 months.

Hey, I’m a 24M who moved back home last July after graduating from uni abroad. I’m just looking to connect with people and make some new friends.
So Before leaving, I ended up cutting off a lot of my old friends (they were assholes) and things got messier when I found out my ex-girlfriend cheated on me with one of them. So yeah, now I’m pretty much starting fresh socially and trying to step out of my comfort zone.
Even though I was born and raised in Zambia, I've never connected with the Zambia culture if that makes any sense, makes it tough to fit in sometimes. But I’ve reached a point where I’m just ready to put myself out there.

Hey just curious about this mostly because I live closer to the lakeshore campus but attend at north, I haven't gotten a chance to just go down to check it out, because my workload is crazy at this point of the semester 😅 But I've heard that lakeshores gym have physical passes?
