 | Andrew Bailey has won re-election. For the next four years, he’ll be Missouri’s attorney general. So he no longer has to worry about potentially alienating teachers. Or conservative ministers. Or those who believe in spanking children. Or county sheriffs and other local law enforcement officials. Or business owners and leaders who want to make a profit. Each of these groups might have been upset or offended had Bailey done what he’s repeatedly been urged to do: investigate and take action against the dozens of “under the radar” Christian boarding schools where youngsters are often abused — physically, sexually and emotionally. Had the attorney general done what victims have asked and dug into this controversy, each of these groups might have felt threatened and could have worked for Bailey’s defeat. But none of them did, because Bailey did what many politicians do and sided with those who have influence and against those without it — in this case, the now young adults who have been hurt in these institutions and now mostly live out-of-state. Doing nothing about the growing boarding school controversy was a smart electoral move. Bailey’s now been rewarded with another four year term of office. But there’s an “up side” here. Bailey is freed up to do what’s right and what’s needed. He can take a long, hard look at those who resist — indeed, fear — accountability and scrutiny, the owners and operators of privately-owned, faith-based facilities for so-called “troubled teens.” Relative to most other states, Missouri lacks any real regulation and oversight of these facilities. So our state has become a magnet for their owners. And these schools, in turn, are magnets for sadists and predators. Do alleged offenses at some of these schools really merit the attention and intervention of Missouri’s highest legal authority? You bet they do. Consider just one of these facilities, Lighthouse Christian Academy in Wayne County, which claimed to help students who were “troubled, learning-impaired or dealing with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or other disorders.” Last month, the school’s former principal Craig Wesley Smith Jr. was charged by the prosecutor with forcing a teenage student to perform sex acts in the late 2000s. Also last month, a trial date was finally set for Missouri’s most notorious female abuser, who worked at two facilities and, along with her husband, was charged with 99 offenses against kids. In July, a Lighthouse teacher who was charged with abuse or neglect of a child for injuring a 15-year-old boy pled guilty and was put on probation for five years. In May, the school’s directors were jailed on charges of first-degree kidnapping for allegedly locking a student in a room, Staffers at similar facilities — in several counties — face similar scandals, lawsuits and charges. At Agape Boarding School in Stockton, for example: A longtime doctor faces 12 counts of child sex crimes including multiple counts of statutory sodomy, sexual misconduct, child molestation and enticement of a child. Federal kidnapping charges are pending against an Agape employee who forced a boy into a car” and “forcibly transported” him from California to Missouri “in handcuffs for over 24 hours.” Five Agape staffers were charged with felonies of assaulting boys. At least three of them have pled guilty. All this in just the last few years, as more former students find the strength and courage to speak up. “Three Christian boarding schools in southern Missouri have shut down since 2020 amid wide-ranging abuse allegations levied by current and former students,” reports the Associated Press. And let’s remember that many crimes, especially against kids, go unreported or unrecognized for decades and victims do come forward, the bar for criminal prosecution is very high. So common sense and painful experience strongly suggest that perhaps scores more offenders at these facilities remain on the job or ‘under the radar.’ So what do boarding school victims seek from Bailey? In letters, news conferences and meetings with his staff, they’ve asked the attorney general to write to prosecutors in the counties where these facilities operate and strongly urge them to launch investigations. They also demanded that he use his bully pulpit to warn parents who may soon send their children to these facilities or whose children are already in them; hold a Zoom call with at least a few dozen victims who have been so severely violated in these facilities; and ask school owners to allow unannounced inspections of their facilities by independent children’s groups and law enforcement personnel including, the Highway Patrol. Bailey has ignored or rebuffed every single one of these requests. There’s another reason now is the time for Bailey to act: In just a few months, the legislature will be back in session. So it’s an opportune moment for the attorney general to prod these mostly GOP lawmakers who loudly and repeatedly claim to be “pro-family” and “tough on crime” to draft effective and comprehensive measures to better safeguard kids in these worrisome facilities. Put more bluntly, when it comes to the issue of the safety of the most vulnerable students in Missouri, in the state’s least regulated facilities, it’s time for Bailey to “put up or shut up.” Shared under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. I’m a Shia from the jnoub living abroad. Contrary to a lot of my family and friends I try to look at these situations from a non biased perspective.
Throughout the war I have been outspoken about how Hezb had no right to involve Lebanon with the Gaza front. However I have also supported them in my heart hoping they would somehow defeat Israel, a weird juxtaposition.
Since the ceasefire I see other family and friends, from abroad and back home posting all over social media that Hezbollah “won”, that Israel did not achieve any of their goals. After all this death and destruction it’s clear to me that anyone that says Hezbollah won does not value human life, homes, villages, livelihoods.
Hezbollahs own statement goal was to force a ceasefire in Gaza based of their attacks on Israel, which failed miserably. That’s excluding the hell Israel rained on the whole of Lebanon.
I truly believe that the worst is yet to come in Lebanon. There will be a civil war within the next decade. I have almost no doubt in my mind.

Ok.. about a month ago, I decided because the entire Brown family has completely disintegrated.. that I would start the whole series over to watch it from a different angle. (The one that we unfortunately know the sad sad ending to) It has NEVER been so obvious to me of exactly what happened to the family and why! At first I thought maybe because they became reality star famous and they just couldn’t support each other enuf to make it thru all the opinions thrown at them every minute of every day. Or that possibly the whole thing was more of a “scripted reality” (think the final scene of Series Finale of The Hills, which I still am mind blown when I think of that brilliant scene!) Back to my point.. I admit that I got hooked on reality tv years ago.. because of some of the greatest Reality TV ever made.. Nick and Jessica “Newlyweds”, “The Osborns”, “Life of Ryan” “Rob & Big” (the true GOATS of Reality TV) were all the very start of watching people just living their everyday life, and it is addictively fascinating! Back to Kodi and his life which has now become that of a dumpster fire that we all know that needs to be put out, but yet the flames are just yanking you in…. For years… and years! With all those seasons and seeing the future of a family that fought really hard to make the world believe that “love is meant to be multiplied, not divided” which we ALL (well at least 99% of us) called Bulls**t on!!! Back to my point.. now that I’m rewatching all the years of chaos and fakeness, and awkwardness in every scene that they are together in.. it has became extremely obvious of exactly what happened! From the very first episode.. Kody was fake happy to all three of his wives going around introducing them all to the camera as each introduction becomes more awkward than the ones before. Including a lot of what they referred to as “Plig Talk” and a huge effort at trying to make us all believe what a happy family they have in Utah.. it’s very clear to me that Kody was bored in his already THREE relationships with his wives of nearly 20 years.. and in a “normal” relationship would be considered possibly a mid-life crisis (white convertible he drove with only 2 seats?!? Huh!? The man has 16 kids?! Who buys a 2 seater!?!) so instead of going out and cheating on his wife/wives as monogamous couples would call it.. he truly believes.. hey, I’m a genius! I knew what I was doing, I get bored then I get to just get someone new… and the kicker ALL 3 OF HIS WIVES GRACIOUSLY SUPPORTED THAT!? And threw the party for it! So if we were to put it into words of what exactly he did.. because he believed his lies and deception and complete Asshat behavior.. and had all these women sold on some fake dream of life together and the best of both worlds and completely did what so SO many “monogamous” couples refer to as becoming a cheater! Having an affair! Living a double life! He just thought SO incredibly highly of himself that he actually believed that he cracked the code of life, reinvented the wheel.. such a narcissist that he wanted the entire world to see how he had figured it all out! WTF!?! It’s disgusting.. he now sits in interviews looking like a still complete narcissistic man who thought he had just won the lottery cuz he’s so brilliant.. and flings absolute nonsense garbage about women that he completely manipulated and IMO abused tremendously and has now took it the step further.. to now talking awful on National TV about his own children. And STILL does not see the absolute car wreck that he, himself, Kody Brown has caused. No respect for that complete POS that he has actually ruined SO many innocent lives, he should be punished for it. Certainly not given air time to sit on that couch and spew nonsense, hate, lies, backpedaling, excuses.. it just doesn’t get any lower than that poor excuse of a husband/father.

2024.11.27 13:53 6UwO9 My gaming contraption
Gaming on a mac(M3 pro) has gotten so much better kudos to developers who made it happen despite apple's "urg fine I'll do it can you shut tf up" approach. I can honestly run any game I want except competitive but well I didn't buy a mac thinking it could game. It's a nice perk. Silent hill 2 remake runs great though it has some graphical issues. This laptop does anything I want which is great and it runs so quiet too. Honestly the highest temp I've seens is 80 ish but even then the fans didn't go beyond 36% which just crazy!!! Coming from shitty Inspiron that broke on me 3 times, my focus was build quality and then performance which this laptop achieves for the most part. Only nitpick is the shiny keyboard and fragile display, I've gotten dents on it withn 19 days of usage and I make sure to wipe everything down before closing the lid. But hey, nothing can't be perfect ig.

- Sequence of candidates is different by different parties across all constituencies.
- If you need to hack EVMs, you need to do it separately for all constituencies, and across hundreds of booths in those constituencies.
- For this, you need all the police, teachers, everyone from ECI and everyone from the rival parties to be on your side since everyone is watching during the moral code time.
- If you're luring everyone on your side including workers of your opponents by money, you have to hope that none of them lakhs of people can be whistle blowers.
- You cannot do this digitally at all since EVMs are not connected, the Hezbollah pager logic doesn't work since pagers are connected to network.
- Your leaders are losers who wanted to protect democracy before elections but can't trust results of free and fair elections.
- There is ECI open challenge to hack EVMs, if you still know you can do this, please prove it to the ECI. As an engineer and a man of science, I'd be happy to see if EVMs can be hacked.
