2024.11.27 16:47 SkyZealousideal6231 Charging new AGM battery with NOCO - roof not latched issue Jaguar
Hi all,
I recently began to have problems with my Jaguar F-type 2015 saying âroof not latchedâ while it actually is. The convertible roof does not work either. So, I read a bunch online and got a new battery which fixed it for about 2 weeks. After it sitting for two days the problem with the roof came back. Next, I hook up my NOCO 2 in AGM mode to charge the battery for a few days. It entered maintenance mode like it should, but as soon as I unlocked the car the NOCO started all over recharging the battery again. Is this normal?
I am planning to pull fuses to read the amp level to check for a parasitic drain on the battery with the carâs modules are active.

I've never posted here before and I'm not adding ss bc I don't want my bf to know this is about him if I am overreacting. Me and him has been together for almost 5 years now and at the beginning of our relationship, maybe 6 months in, I found out he never deleted any dating apps and never stopped talking to any of the people he was talking to romantically or sexually. His reason is he thought I would go back to my ex when he got out of lock up (was never gonna happen bc here I am now) but he also said that if it wasn't physical it wasn't cheating either. (Even though there were messages between him and a woman thay lives down the road, saying he was going to help her hook up something to her tv) Since then I thought that he understood that I feel like that's cheating and it's a boundary we BOTH agreed to. So fast forward to now, he left his phone at home while he went to work and I felt like I should just search Tumblr and see, and what I see is; he has an active account online on Tumblr where he messages other women specifically to sext. There's no way he could meet these women on here bc the live far away but he is just trying to get his rocks off and tells me he hasn't done anything like this since the beginning. I'm now sitting here while he is at work deciding if I should just fucking go off when he gets home or what. Am I over reacting?

2024.11.27 16:47 itchypig How has your level of motivation changed as a freelancer?
Hi all, Iâm considering transitioning from full-time salaried employee to freelancer.
Part of my reasoning is that freelancers have better aligned incentives. In the salaried world, doing good work doesnât necessarily translate to more pay, and often just means more work for the same pay. In the freelance world, I figure good work begets more work which means more pay.
The other side is that salaried work pays you even when unproductive. While this is financially a benefit of salaried work, for the conscientious/industrious, this could actually harm oneâs sense of meaning and drive to be productive in the long-run.
This is all theoretical - but Iâm interested in learning whether you have found freelance work to be more or less motivating than full-time? Does what I say hold true or is there something Iâm missing that would be good to take into account before transitioning?

I'm an IC in a senior technical role at a small startup. I am not a manager, director, "head of", etc. and don't want to be and my title reflects that. I have almost a decade of experience. I report to a technical director and he reports to the CEO and the CEO and other functional heads come directly to me with all requests and issues for my entire functional area. My leadership is absolutely failing me as an IC. I try to proactively get info about the biggest ticket strategic things I need to accomplish, but 50% of my work is ad hoc requests without planning or tickets and I'm not invited to leadership team meetings. Making noises about better planning to make sure I have the highest leverage has been met with everything from a shrug to outright negative feedback. My boss is overwhelmed with his own work and super passive, and the CEO is easily distracted by shiny things and is constantly looking for quick revenue hits over meaningful long term improvements to our offering and operations. Nevertheless I contributed two major things this year that were major boons to the company and got recognition for them. However, my reward was being thrown a major month-long task completely outside my qualifications and functional area with extremely high risk to the company completely without notice, and being made to play bad cop when a vendor broke a dependency we pay them for (I absolutely do not own the budget for the contract with this vendor). Yes I'm actively interviewing, but is there anything to gain by telling my boss and the CEO that setting me up to fail and throwing me managerial tasks not even remotely in my job area without notice is unacceptable? Am I being quiet fired even though the feedback is that I'm indispensable?
