My friend is using YNAB but I can tell doesn't completely understand it or maybe doesn't completely understand how to do all the 'YNAB things' that need to be kept up. She said her bank and YNAB 'never match' but she continues to use it and says it helps her. I am one of those people that is a little nutty about YNAB and things have to match and reconcile for me. I don't say anything to her. I figure if it is helping her then that is a good thing. Wondering if anyone else 'kinda sorta' matches their accounts and still finds it useful.

2024.11.27 16:30 abuamiri Do You Get PQP Credit for Both Legs of a Flight that Straddles 2 Calendar Years at Start of Trip?

Apologies for the convoluted question. Did a search and didn't see anything immediately responsive. I am about 1700 PQP short of 1K status. I have an end of year trip booked that departs CONUS on 29 December 2024 and returns to CONUS end of January 2025. First leg out in December and last leg back in January are on United. Connections are on a non-Star Alliance carrier (only option going into this particular country). As a result, I'm getting a grand total of about 3000 PQP for this trip (roughly 1500 each United flight). I'm not sure if that includes any PQP earned by using my United Mileage Plus card for the c/a $5500 ticket. If only the outbound PQP applies to my status in 2024, I'll be about 200 PQP short. I'm assuming United would not count the PQP I'll presumably earn in January towards my status this year? If that's the case, assume I need to find that remaining 200 somehow this year? Haven't paid attention to my PQP earning via card spend this year, but I could easily drop $2-5k on my United card between now and the end of the year if necessary. Don't think I've ever hit Premier 1K, but I'm assuming it's worth pursuing if I'm this close.

2024.11.27 16:30 PASS3R-BY AITA for not telling my GF about my phone’s password change after getting a new phone

I am a 22M and have been dating a girl 21F (let’s call her D). For the past year we share the same password but just yesterday I got a new phone and decided to change my password. There was a lot of things I had to update and change that I didn’t realise I should have told her about the password change and well, today when she found out she didn’t take it very well.
I was driving her and told her to unlock my phone to start playing music and she suddenly got very upset and asked why she could no longer log into my phone. I remembered about the password change and immediately told her the new password. She was able to unlock my phone but got very quiet after complaining that it was a hard password to remember. She was also refusing to respond to any of my questions. After a while I realised it was about the password change and finally she told me I what went through her mind.
She thought I was not sharing enough information on what is happening in my life and pointed out I should have realised what I have done wrong earlier. However, I don’t think this was a big deal. It might have become an unspoken pact that we should have the same password all the time but I just forgot about it. I wasn’t even trying to hide anything from her cuz when she pointed it out I immediately gave her the new password.

2024.11.27 16:30 A-Tiny-PewDiePie-Fan I have no discipline and no self-control

I want to get jacked. Period. But I have no discipline and seeing myself waste away day by day while FANTASIZING about working out is debilitating. It just feels like everything is stacked against me.
Wake up earlier to work out? I don't want to wake my poor roommate up as well and then fall asleep in class myself in the afternoon.
Eat more calories & protein? I don't have the appetite nor the money to do that.
Get enough sleep? My brain is already hardwired to always stay up long past midnight being on my phone or computer.
I won't say that these excuses are the sole cause of my lack of discipline for working out, but they do make the problem worse. Most of all, I don't have buddies or anything that could really give me the push that I need. Basically, I have nothing to hold myself accountable.
I wish I could rewire my brain and just stop giving a shit about what other people think, my computer games, going out with friends, doomscrolling, and just force myself to rely my happiness on solely pursuing my goals.

2024.11.27 16:30 GJKings Lurching performance stutters - G14 2024

I've had my 2024 G14 for around 4 months now, and occasionally I load up a game - ANY game - and find it kind of lurching. Like it slows and speeds up again to catch up, making the game fairly unplayable. I've had this happen on hunt Showdown, Star Wars Outlaws, and even a little pixel art deckbuilder I was making a trailer for.
Restarting my machine and loading the game up again seems to fix it, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if they have any more permanent solutions for it? I do have G Helper installed, and no ASUS processes running. I tend to use Ultimate performance profile, and am usually on Balanced CPU, but do sometimes notch it up to Turbo.

As I am ambassador to Earth, it was only logical to seek out a human mate.
I have had a few human mates, but some time ago one of them managed to "baby trap" me. Turns out interspecies children are possible. Had I known I may have used contraceptives, but you live and you learn. I married her and we raised our son together. Problem was that son felt my disappointment since he was old enough to walk. How could I not be disappointed in a filthy hybrid?
When he was old enough, I arranged for him to attend college at my alma mater. As a legacy, admission was guaranteed. Yet he acted out, and ran off to join the Navy instead. Fine, if he wanted to waste his life serving aboard smelly ships with the apes, up to him. The relationship has only worsened, the boy didn't even tell his boyfriend that his parents were still alive, until we showed up on the boyfriend's ship.
Recently his mother passed. I mourned her of course. For a month. Then I hit up Earth clubs to find a replacement. As you do. Well this angered my son. Said it was "inappropriate and man-whoreish". That my new piece was younger than he is. Which obviously, you pick them young. He has said he never wants to speak to me again, even threatened to move to another planet.
What do the esteemed experts of the Daystrom parenting institute advise? Is it possible to salvage this relationship?

G7 avoids explicitly mentioning warrants at end of summit but says Israel has to comply with all international law Italy said on Tuesday it was ready to respect its obligations concerning the International Criminal Court’s warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant, but that clarity was needed on how it would work in Netanyahu’s case.
“We always apply the obligations but we have to understand what the obligations are,” Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani told a news conference on Tuesday, saying it was not clear whether high state officials enjoyed immunity from prosecution.
He added that “Netanyahu would never go to a country where he can be arrested,” and that “the arrest of Netanyahu is unfeasible, at least as long as he is prime minister.”
The ICC warrants also sparked tension within Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s coalition.
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto said Rome would have to abide by its obligations and arrest Netanyahu if he came to Italy, while Matteo Salvini — the leader of the coalition League party — said the Israeli leader would be welcome in the country.
A joint statement of Group of Seven foreign ministers on Tuesday avoided mentioning the ICC’s arrest warrant for Netanyahu, despite an effort by the Italian hosts to find a common position on it.
Italy, which currently chairs the G7, said on Monday it wanted to try to forge a common position about the warrant at a two-day meeting it hosted in the spa town of Fiuggi, which ended on Tuesday.
The final statement did not explicitly mention the ICC or the warrants but said Israel, in exercising its right to defend itself, “must fully comply with its obligations under international law in all circumstances, including international humanitarian law.”
“We reiterate our commitment to International Humanitarian Law and will comply with our respective obligations,” the statement added, stressing “that there can be no equivalence between the terrorist group Hamas and the State of Israel.”
The G7 meeting of foreign ministers, the last to take place during the Biden administration, was dominated by the wars in Gaza and Lebanon. Ministers were heartened by indications that a ceasefire was in the offing between Israel and Hezbollah.
“We are tracking this very closely. I hope and believe we can get this over the finish line,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told a G7 briefing.
Last week, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former defense minister Gallant — as well as Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif, who Israel says was killed by an IDF strike in Gaza in July — for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict.
The move was strongly criticized by the United States, which is not a party to the ICC and has said it will not comply with the warrants, but other states including Britain and Italy did not rule out that they could make an arrest if Netanyahu visited their countries.
Israel condemned the ICC decision as shameful and absurd while Hamas praised it as a step towards justice.
The war in Gaza broke out on October 7, 2023, with Hamas’s unprecedented attack on southern Israel, in which terrorists rampaged through civilian communities and IDF bases, murdering some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking 251 hostages.
In response, Israel launched a ground offensive in the Gaza Strip with the proclaimed objectives of dismantling Hamas and getting the hostages back.
The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says more than 44,000 people in the Strip have been killed or are presumed dead in the fighting so far, though the toll cannot be verified and does not differentiate between civilians and fighters. Israel says it has killed some 18,000 combatants in battle as of November and another 1,000 terrorists inside Israel on October 7.
Israel has said it seeks to minimize civilian fatalities and stresses that Hamas uses Gaza’s civilians as human shields, fighting from civilian areas including homes, hospitals, schools, and mosques.
Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip stands at 380. The toll includes a police officer killed in a hostage rescue mission and a Defense Ministry civilian contractor.
