2024.11.27 17:53 42tooth_sprocket How can I get consistent results with prints?
I just did a test run of a bunch of small prints w/ London Drugs here in Vancouver just to see if the colour and exposure look right before ordering bigger & more expensive enlargements and I'm seeing pretty inconsistent results. I don't have a perfectly calibrated monitor so I wasn't surprised to see that some of the prints came out too dark, but what I don't understand is that some are too dark and some are too bright. Are they adjusting exposure on a case by case basis? How can I achieve consistent results here? I'd thought about going to The Lab (a local higher end photo lab) instead but I'm hesitant to spend ~$60 for a 12x18 print. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi, bakers! Assuming I measured the ingredients correctly, what might cause a dough that is supposed to be able to be formed into balls to instead be wet, gloppy and in no way shapeable?
Possibilities:
• The recipe asked for room-temperature eggs, but I used them straight out of the fridge. • I was instructed to fold almond flour into the wet ingredients. After I did so, the mixture was still lumpy (but already too wet to shape), so I used a hand mixer for a few seconds.
