2024.11.27 19:29 yLw1223 Intel 14th gen question.
I replaced my 14900kf for a new one a month ago. All games are running fine and i instantly updated the BIOS to the 0x12b microcode version and but BIOS Default and turned on Intel Default Settings. It set my P1 = 230 and P2=253 and my ICCMAX=400. My only concern is the newest games that download shaders and that are really heavy and unoptimized(using black ops 6 as a reference). My p5 core starts to thorttle and it simmers down after shader downloading. It fluctuates about 70-85C average in my black ops 6 games and it can spike up to 95C max. Now my ghz are almost always 5.7, but throttling still happens, if i lower the ICCMAX to 307 my ghz would be locked to 5.5-5.3ish and it will never hit 5.7. Thats why i avoid lowering the iccmax because my legitimate defaults put it to 400. Should i be concerned(i really dont want to undervolt) or should i just leave it considering it only does this at highly unoptimized games(rust, black ops 6). Hell even escape from tarkov runs cooler than those 2 games

2024.11.27 19:29 SeaRefractor Stradpet Carbon Fiber Bridge fitting
Yeah, I know, not going to be liked by the purists. However while purchasing bridges for my violin build, I'd purchased both a Maple (currently shaping via suggestions from Davide Sora's videos) as well as this Stradpet Carbon Fiber Bridge.

Naturally it's not a perfect fit and traditional methods might make poison dust. I hit upon the following solution. Best part is that it's safe and also provides a surface to the carbon fiber bridge feet that will help prevent damage to the varnish finish on the violin top plate.
- Using Saran Wrap (or a similar cling plastic food wrap) cover your violin top. Ensure stretched tight.
- Hold stradpet carbon fiber bridge in place with rubber band through the f holes. Properly centered.
3.Mix up some JB Weld high performance epoxy. Use palette knife to apply.
JB Weld, almost like duct tape and bailing wire
- Apply a little amount, it's just going to be trimmed off. Ensure centering/position before allowing to cure.
- Once cured remove bridge. It will need to be trimmed and Saran wrap will be permanent to the bridge feet.
- Carefully trim the edges. Trimmed one and left other untrimmed to demonstrate.
- Once trimmed you'll see the areas that needed epoxy as a lighter grey. Easy to see that the original carbon fiber didn't touch enough. Perhaps that resulted in a muted tone in some reviews.
- Cannot slide thin paper under the feet, very accurate fit.

Basically title.
I play on EU with consistent 50 ping, no lagspikes. And yet sometimes i have to dodge way before the move hits and sometimes i have to dodge after it hits to get a dodge. So whenever the boss is about to attack i end up spamming dodge to get the correct timing basically by chance and avoid getting hit. Which is really annoying.

My dad got diagnosed last year with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and in recent months several other family members got tested for the familial HCM gene and the disease and it turns out my uncle has HCM as well and carries the gene and so far two of my first cousins are carriers. I was recommended to see a cardiologist and do genetic testing so I've gotten the ball rolling on that but I'm just curious to hear from other folks who found out similar information. I have kids myself so I'm wondering if it turns out I'm a carrier if there's anything in particular I might have to follow up with them.

From the Podcast Rotten Mango by Stephanie Soo about the Instagram model girl on the same stuff in Florida was on when 2 people were killed. She blew a red light at 90 mph, the victims were on their way to work. Now that's what Liam Payne was on when he died... This is becoming a horror show.
Pink Cocaine is mixed with Fentanyl, Molly, Ecstasy, Ketamine and Caffeine (It could include all or just a mix of these). They call it Toosie in Florida? Apparently it's based on Toosie V which was a medical hallucinogen that was supposed to be for the psychotherapy stuff. Except they black marketed it and now it will give people up to 12 hours of violent behavior... Apparently the feds have classified it as a Schedule 1 drug with Heroin, Meth, Peyote, etc Allegedly WW was on this when he killed those women.

2024.11.27 19:29 Pardavos Tips for hitting 12th ante and 100,000,000 chips?
I know a lot of it comes down to pure luck, but after 40ish hours I’ve never been able to get more than 1-2mil in a hand, so I was hoping for some guidance. Is there a specific deck that would make it easier? I normally play high card or pair, but would something with more scoring cards help? Are there any joker combos I should be looking out for? Any advise would be appreciated, I think I could eventually hit 12th ante if I get lucky enough, but I can’t imagine getting 100mil in one hand.

Like, you really need to try hard to make a bad Elder scrolls world. Even if the game's writing is subpar & there are some repetitive POI, Elder scrolls has a lot of different things going on to create an interesting journey. Skyrim felt magical back then

That said, I—and many others—are deeply frustrated by Xfinity’s poor handling of communication and service restoration efforts.
- Outage Map Issues: The outage map is non-functional as a map. It provides no clarity on where outages exist, their scale, or even the status of work being scheduled or performed. For several days, my location—clearly without internet since 1/19—was incorrectly marked as having service. Now, it states my address is no longer a valid service location. This lack of consistency makes it impossible to trust or plan around.
- Unhelpful and Misleading Customer Support:
- Attempts to get updates via phone or online chat often devolve into sales pitches for unrelated services, like mobile or streaming. This is both tone-deaf and unprofessional during an outage crisis.
- Chat agents have made contradictory claims, including promises of repair within 24 hours or assurances that my property would be prioritized. They’ve even gone as far as agreeing to run fiber connectivity down my road—a significant infrastructure change that a support tech likely cannot authorize.
- Previous discussions about service upgrades (like symmetrical fiber or DOCSIS 4.0) have also been riddled with misinformation. For example, I’ve been told about services supposedly available in my neighborhood, only to later learn they are not.
- Inconsistent and Uninformative Status Updates:
- The “status” page for my service gives no actionable information, only stating restoration will occur “as soon as possible.”
- I’ve received conflicting text notifications, some claiming service is restored (while it clearly isn’t, with lines still down) and others simply confirming the outage with no estimate for resolution.
My Request:
- Provide an effective outage map: The current outage map is essentially unusable. It should clearly show affected areas, the number of customers impacted, and progress updates for repairs. While we understand the scope of the storm was significant and that other providers may have also faced challenges, the complete lack of usable data is unacceptable. Customers need transparency to understand the situation and plan accordingly.
- Offer honest, realistic timelines for service restoration: We recognize that the coordination and complexity of repairs after such a storm are immense and unpredictable. However, providing best estimates—whether it’s a day, multiple days, or a week or longer—is critical for those who rely on internet service for work and essential communication. Even approximate timelines are better than vague statements like “as soon as possible,” which offer no actionable information.
- Prioritize genuine support over upselling: Customer support agents should focus on providing accurate outage information and avoid upselling services during crises. I recognize that Comcast has likely made a deliberate decision to include sales pitches during support calls. While I disagree with this decision and believe it significantly worsens the support experience, I understand it is the policy Comcast has chosen to adopt. That said, attempting to sell new services or upgrades during a natural disaster is predatory and insensitive. It exploits customers at their most vulnerable moments and creates the perception that repairs are being held hostage to monetize those already suffering. At the very least, Comcast should suspend this practice during disaster-related outages to provide customers with the respect and support they deserve.

So i woke up in the morning and when I stood up I got hit with an intense pain, kinda like a stitch but worse. It doesn’t hurt when I’m sat down or if I press on it, it only hurts when I stand up or stretch and when I take a deep breath. I was supposed to go out today but I can’t even function as a normal human being and stand up straight without being in pain and it’s stopping me from making food and showering, any suggestions for why this is happening ? I took 2 paracetamol so hopefully it helps but in the meantime is there anything else I can do to ease the pain?
