2024.11.27 20:30 shakybrake Those of you with Robbins tops who have reapplied adhesive to the rear window, did you remove the old adhesive from the top itself?
 | I got 98% of the adhesive off of the glass on both sides, but the adhesive on the top is ridiculously hard to peel or scrape off and I'm worried that I'm gonna accidentally puncture or rip the top trying to remove it. Should I just leave it or try hitting it with the heat gun and more scraping? One step closer to having a fully functional convertible top again! I am interested in buying a small business and am in the research phase. I've read some of the usually recommended material (HBR Guide, Buy Then Build, etc...), but I still have one question that I could use others' take on.
What is a normal range of ownership that I should anticipate being able to negotiate for myself vs a passive investor or investors, assuming I supply half the up front cash for the purchase?
Let's use an example of buying a business for $5,000,000 using:
- $500K of my own money
- $500K from a passive investor
- $500K seller financing
- $3.5M SBA loan
Has anyone done a deal like this where they can provide an example ownership split?

2024.11.27 20:30 Little_Desk5145 AITAH for the way I treated the man who was there for me during my divorce?
I was in a very unhappy marriage with a husband who lacked motivation (no job, played games all the time, no ambition). I had an affair with a (single) man during my marriage due to the issues I was having at home. I confided in my husband about it and I stopped talking to the other man and focused on the marriage. Two years later, my husband started getting involved in prostitution, escorts etc. and also had an affair of his own. I pleaded and tried to make it work but it didn’t and we decided to divorce.
During the separation and divorce process I reached out to my original affair partner and he provided me a lot of emotional support, and we also went on dates and were physical. He loved me a lot. We discussed plans/dreams for him to move to my home town and dreamed about a future together even though I did say sometimes that I might need time alone after the divorce and maybe want to be alone too.
When the divorce was final I ended up telling affair partner that I wanted to be alone and that dating apps may be a possibility. He was upset about that but we ended things. I got on the dating apps and he said he saw me on there (I think he was looking for me) and got super upset that I went to dating apps so quickly after ending things with him and I was looking for “something serious” as it said on my profile. He said he loved me and wanted it to be our time. Basically he went emotionally crazy for a couple months of texting me what he was feeling (maybe a couple dozen texts in two months) while I just ghosted him.
He eventually stopped talking to me, seems like he’s moving forward. He told me he loves me and that is why it hurts so bad in those texts he sent me awhile back. Its been two years since then, should I unblock him now?

So I wrote something while I was in a very dark place… the most alone I’ve ever been. While I was incarcerated in Lehigh county, I had to go to Philly on a writ— essentially I had charges there and had to go to court while in custody. I was stuck there for about a month. This text is going to be the start of my book of short stories. Here you go…
Third world conditions.
Layers of paint so thick the room has become smaller. Artwork and graffitied names are scrawled on any open space. I can’t help but edit… “Sometimes you gotta loose to win…” “Everything happends for a reason…” I add my two cents: “God give me strength.”
One thin blanket, two sheets so threadbare they are see through, a mattress so worn and torn stray dogs would pass it up. No pillow- one sheet does double duty. A toddler-sized towel so beaten-up Bounty would put it to shame.
A metal toilet so cold anything about to exit my body recoils in shock. Stray hairs of various shapes, colors, and lengths appear everywhere. “Cold Case” detectives would have a field day. Fingernail clippings add to the mix. DNA abounds from a myriad of nations.
Water dribbles from the toilet/sink combo—no hot, only cold. A funhouse-esque “mirror” so warped and foggy I appear almost gray… probably not too far off from reality.
Cell door reminiscent of a cold war gulag. It slides shut jarringly with no care as to the poor soul it slices off from the world. Hopeless faces at metal picnic tables stare into the void. Eye contact is a risk.
No books to be found—but then again, book smarts are no match for street smarts. Regardless, I’d trade my rations for a cheesy novel. Even a Bible. God seems as far away as freedom.
Seconds pass like minutes… minutes like hours. Darkness comes slowly. Screams of internal agony and frustration echo down the block—night dulls only some senses. Others, it heightens. Male voices drift across the narrow yard. ‘Let me see some titties!’ Charmed, I’m sure.
A lone CO sits in his bubble, the glow of a mindless game of Solitaire the only sign of life within. No cell checks throughout the night—we’re on our own. Left to our own devices.
No lights out for me—the lone light’s pull cord has been broken… just out of reach. What time is it? Your guess is as good as mine. Sleep will not visit me tonight.
How many tears have fallen and dried on this cold concrete floor? Remnants of vomit, blood, feces, urine, and food surround me. A potpourri of dribs and drabs.
A surprise visit from a tiny mouse—the first of many to follow. He scurries out from behind the toilet and we startle each other. He and his friends are guests of honor and sup on soggy apple pieces I scatter about. Dotty, Riggs, Mrs. Beasley, Cee-Cee, and Squirt—their manners superb.
Golf pencil getting dull. I scan the cell for a sharp edge for sharpening.
I fashion a bra from a pair of underwear. No Girl Scout badge to earn for this. MacGyver would flourish.
My back aches and my legs fall asleep. If only I could follow suit. Can’t turn off my head- anxiety stuck at 10. And so it goes…
When morning comes, I am alone in my concern for the baby mouse stuck in the glue trap. How can they not see the similarities? We’re both stuck in a bad place—no matter how hard we try, no amount of struggle right now will get us free. In fact, the more we struggle, the worse it gets.
So scared he shit himself. Curled up in a fetal position, trying in vain to shrink away from the noise and chaos of the giants that mock him. He wants to disappear. So do I. At least his struggle will soon be over.
Mine has just begun.

Hello, i bought a bravia 9 with a samusung soundbar and i have 2 recievers. Theres no option to connect my headphones with this tv. I would like the option to connect the headphone but still hear the sound of my soundbar without any harm of quality. So the system itself should all work with HDMI 2.1 to guarantee Dolby Atmos, etc. How to integrate a extraction to a 3.5 mm analog output without compromising the signal between soundbar, reciever and tv at the same time. The two outputs should work simultaneously (no switch). Is there even an option?
