We plan to rearrange the living room to the above space plan which we both agree on, however my partner and I differ on color schemes, etc. For reference we have a teal colored IKEA Kivik sofa, which I plan on buying new covers for in a different color. We have a child and so we have a white 4x4 Kallax for toy storage. We like to play board games, the table on the upper right is a game table my partner plans on building. Our aesthetic is a mix of styles, we like walnut MCM style furniture with an old money feel. The walls are Wool Skein by SW and the French doors are painted in Iron Ore, also SW. Floors are natural hickory. The second photo shows a rug that my partner likes with what I think are matching colors. However, my partner also loves the green velvet chair of the third picture. I’m struggling to choose between the two color schemes and struggling to find a 10x14 wool rug that would suit the green velvet chair. Hoping to get some opinions quickly, I would like to purchase items while the Black Friday sales are going on. 2024.11.27 20:50 rvinyard Using cement and/or lime to stabilize soil
We have an ultra dry basement in the US Southwest and dirt floors currently used for storage.
The dirt is loose with surface rocks etc. and is a combination of crushed granite and silty dirt. The crushed granite is naturally occurring, not brought in.
I have removed the surface rocks and construction debris, and want to eventually pour concrete slabs, then tile.
Until then I was thinking of controlling dust and prepping for the slabs by mixing cement and/or lime into the upper granite/silt dirt, wetting, and compacting.
Wetting and compacting the granite/silt alone doesn't seem to reduce dust as it stays pretty loose.
Any thoughts on how this would impact putting in the slabs later?
I'm thinking the extra lime won't hurt in the base for the slabs later on.

2024.11.27 20:50 bennettyboi I wish Nier replicant had a better structure
Its what I consider the biggest flaw in the game, it forces you to replay huge chunks of the game with minimal new content and slows the last half of the game to an absolute crawl, lets look at the games structure
A: parts 1 and 2
B: Almost all of part 2 with some new content
C: functionally the same as B with the requirement of obtaining all the games weapons to progress.
D: If you save outside the final dungeon you can make it so you only have to do that part.
E: A huge chunk of part 1 before skipping ahead to the ending.
Now. heres how I would change it
A: Unchanged, this part is solid
B: Mostly unchanged, mabye play as Kaine in this part if it can be pulled off effectivly though it might ruin the surprise of E. You could add the Devola and Popola scenes to this part which dont really add anything new.
C: make it so you have all the keystones and start you outside the Lost shrine with the option to go back and collect all the weapons if you really want to keep that. this change would save so much unessecary retreading and be the biggest single improvement.
D. Just spawn us outside the final room, it feels so unessecary to make us repeat the entire final dungeon just to select a different decision in the last minute
E. I have mixed feelings about changing this part as it would kind of ruin the ending of D so I would say leave it unchanged.
All in all, I think that these changes would immensly improve the pacing, while minimizing any unessecary retreading of story beats and reducing the emotional impact of the game harder hitting moments. But these are just my ideas, and this game is ultimately still amazing even with the repetitive second half.

2024.11.27 20:50 Twsji Harassed by intensivist and don't know what to do.
I had a patient p/w abdominal pain, bacteremia. ID was on board, six weeks of iv abx was what was decided. Chronic back pain with chronic lumbar vertebral fracture, that she hasn't slept in bed for very long time and uses recliners. BMI 57.
Strep mutans bacteremia, TTE neg, couldn't identify the source. Her abdominal pain is non specific. She has been there for 9 days for pain/hyponatremia/snf. Sodium is 120, improves with nephrology recs and is 127 before worsening again.
Suddenly yesterday she has severe LLQ pain, CT shows adnexal free fluid. Gen surgery/GYN see the patient, aren't sure what's going on. I call nephrology too, because she has an AKI. In the evening she is septic. Needs fluid, I bolus her, extend her abx and call the CCU for transfer
The intensivist comes in with her nurses, berates the PCU nurses because they were trying to place the foley before the NG. She then in a intimidating way questions me, why ex lap wasn't done, why her code status was changed during the day. Says it's ileus, but GRABS me by my L elbow outside the patient's room, opens the door, to show why a NG tube should have been placed. I already stunned by her attitude and with someone with having 19 patients during the day, can't process her attitude towards me. It's 5 pm, there are some late discharges/paper work that i am having to deal with at the same time.
The pcu nurses are upset and later on the manger someone comes to check on me ito see f i was doing okay. I looked dishevelled i think. She encouraged to me file complain as most other nurses will be doing it. I didn't have the time to think what was going on. She was rude/unprofessional. She couldn't call the Gen surgeion to question him or the radiologist who gave a vague reading but tried to harrass me infront of everyone. Also infront of the patient/her husband.
I am lost at this point. I have never had something like this happen. I am on a J1 waiver. I have completed one year since joining post residency. This is not the first time the intensivist has done something like this either. I don't want to create waves. I just want to get my green card and leaver the job. I am almost afraid, it might backfire on me if i complain. That's the only ICU physician we have.
I am not also sure how to word the complain. I don't want to be just like it hurt my feelings. Definitely intensivist was loud, unprofessional. I don't think I have done anything less for the patient care.
