2024.11.27 20:50 ShreddedChettar I was today years old when I learned that the magnitude and duration of applied positive/negative effects vary based on how they are applied
Was playing around with embedments at the Training Area today and noticed my attack power varied everso slightly when I changed how the positive effect Power Gain was applied.
Consulted the spreadsheet and checked the “Buffs” section and lo and behold, my questions were answered.
Turns out the magnitude and variation can vary quite a bit - take for example both Power Gain upon Martial Arts/Wizardry Spell grant a +5% boost for 8 seconds meanwhile Power Gain upon Deflecting a Critical Blow grants a +15% boost for 25 seconds, and the spell Focus Zone grants a +40% boost for 30 seconds!
Consult the spreadsheet for full deets. Something to consider when building out your equipment.

I accidentally busted a cabinet with my knee getting out of the shower over four months ago and my father is still upset. I live in my parents house and am in high school, around four months ago I was walking through my vanity after a shower and slipped and my knee went through one of my sink cabinets, I was fearful to tell anyone because my parents have a history of using corporal punishment with my siblings and I. My father didn’t find out until a few months ago when a repair man noticed it well working on the pipes on my vanity. When I arrived home from school that afternoon my father was livid. Yelling at me, threatening to knock me upside the head and shaking me till I was sobbing for close to an hour. He took the entire cabinet off the hinges and threw himself into the process of finding a replacement, he found nothing after around a month of searching. He then started reaching out looking for someone to repair it and was unsuccessful. He recently was able to get two replacement cabinets. This entire process costed him hundreds of dollars and time. Not to mention the fact he was just today fussing about how he would be wasting Christmas break on the two-day process of installing the new cabinets (I’d help obviously). Due to my position I am not able to provide financial support in the whole incident. But we’re well off as a family financially, savings, a big house in a nice neighborhood with a good school district. And pay an offering of $1,400 to our church everyone month, and they also recently bought a white range rover, he’s a lawyer who makes around $350K annually and my mother works also so that’s another $120k a year. So it was never a problem to buy the new cabinets or pay for installation. I have apologized profusely yet he has been bitter about it and reminds me everyday. It had gotten so bad my mother had to tell him to stop talking about it. So reddit, AITAH?
