Not quite an open offer, but I got hiring committee approval for Meta E4, and I'm moving on to team matching with them. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting to hear back from Google, which I'd prefer from a WLB perspective (although I'm obviously still super psyched about Meta).
Subjectively, I performed worse on the Google final round, so I'm less confident on passing their HC; it's been ~2 weeks now and I haven't heard back.
Should I let my Google recruiter know that Meta has put me through the hiring committee? Or if I was already borderline, is that more likely to make them go "well, we might as well not fight for someone we got a mediocre signal on, let him go."

I've been planning to migrate and had a couple of countries up my list and one of it is NZ. So far i looked up about the economy, the opportunities for marine science careers, and housing. From what I took from this sub and other articles there's a harsh housing crisis there, so I'd like to ask if there's a an area in NZ that would have cheaper rents but is in close vicinity of a university. So far, a lot of universities there offer Marine Sciences, so i wouldn't be too worried (?).
I'm not too concerned about the prestige of the university as I'm more focused on survivability, or being able to pay rent and feed myself first while pursuing my degree.
If you have any tips or suggestions, or anything helpful at all, is really appreciated.

2024.11.27 22:30 syd_9876 Osap Still hasn’t approved Grades
Literally so sad right now. I wish proof of funding wasn’t due a month before courses start.
I was hoping to start the next round of courses November 1st, then osap wanted proof of progress so I finished my exams and sent it on Nov 1st.
So now the earliest I could start would be January, okay fine… except osap hasn’t reviewed my documents yet. I haven’t failed any classes, haven’t dropped below full time. But this review means I now have to wait. They have until literally Friday for the 4 week mark and for approval by Dec 1st for January Start.
But it’s looking like if they take their sweet time I might not get to start until February :( IF they get approved.
I was planning on using this money to help pay rent so now I’m feeling beyond stressed.
Wondering what I should do next time so there isn’t this huge delay. :( speed through the courses as fast as possible I guess 🤷🏻♀️

I 34m married to 32f… I don’t want to give too much detail, but basically my wife is a hardcore swifty. She’s already seen the Eras tour twice. I went once w her and she went w her best friends out of state where they all purchased $8k a piece floor seats. At one point this year my wife switched jobs, but didn’t tell me ahead of time she was going to be taking a couple of months off in between for a break. During that break we had some financial things come up that I 100% paid for out of my savings which ended up being $28k. On top of me still paying both our student loans, both cars, rent, all bills, all food, ect. Overall I ended up paying out $72k worth of bills over a 9 month period for both of us… my wife and I keep our accounts separate. We both make over 6 figures , but she makes $30k more a year than I do . Once my wife got a couple of pay checks and finally contributed to some bills she turned around and bought a bunch of new stuff. I didn’t really get too mad. I just asked her if she was going to pay me back her portion or even a piece of the portion? She asked how much and I said since your half would be $32k how about $10k ? And she said ok. 2 months went by and she hadn’t paid me anything toward that.
We’ll skip forward to yesterday. She says to me don’t get mad but I bought floor tickets for Taylor in Canada. I’m going to fly there by myself. Watch the show and fly back the next morning ! How much did this cost ? $9k …. Ok, well where’s the $10k out of the $32k ? And then we got into a huge fight to the point where she blocked me. Now, she’s not coming to my parents house for thanksgiving and I’m not invited to hers. I told her that she needs to grow up. I feel very disrespected.

Not as much as I would have liked, but I have lost 34.8 lbs since July and had some rough days where even Wegogy couldn't control my 'stress' eating. But I am continuing to lose weight, binge eating is much better, and I am riding my bike about three days a week for about 12-15 miles each ride. I can see the difference in my face and can finally see a difference in my stomach. I have 72.6 more pounds to lose to get to my goal weight.

10 man 2QB flex league, half PPR. My WRs are Downs, Dell, Deebo, Ridley and Mooney with Olave picked up on FA and on IR. I plan to drop Deebo when Olave comes back, I clinched a playoff spot.
There's a chance that Olave may not return. Am I crazy to drop Deebo for Addison for the next few weeks? I like him more than Dell next week and could use some depth.

If I click on the pop up it just disappears. What’s the purpose of it? On other browsers of the spell check sees you spelled it wrong you click on it and it completes the word for you. This does nothing but get in the way.
