Maybe I’ll say like their allies your allies and then specifically direct attacks on. You might be a better way to explain that, but I don’t feel like reworking it right now ha ha
Social Disengagement
- Righteous narcissists often make a calculated effort to create a strong first impression with your friends and family. This initial charm is not genuine, it’s a strategy to build a favorable image one they can point back to later. Over time, their detachment becomes apparent as they disengage from conversations, withhold enthusiasm, and remain aloof, creating an emotionally vacant atmosphere. This shift often leaves your loved ones confused. Friends and family might initially try harder to connect with them, misinterpreting their lack of effort as shyness or introversion. But as their attempts are met with the same cold, robotic demeanor, the awkwardness grows. You may notice invitations dwindle, and you might hesitate to invite people over or include your partner in social gatherings, knowing their presence will only make the atmosphere uncomfortable. Their detachment isn’t always a deliberate act of withholding, it often stems from their lack of empathy which is needed to engage meaningfully, and their rigid, calculated personalities prevent the spontaneity and emotional warmth that foster connection. - Adding to the confusion is the stark contrast in how they behave in other settings, particularly with individuals whose opinions they deem valuable such as coworkers, their own friends, or family members they respect. In these interactions, they are often capable of significant engagement and effort, maintaining a polished image of competence and reliability. They can be personable, articulate, and even charismatic when interacting with these select individuals, ensuring they are perceived as capable and admirable. This selective engagement highlights how their effort is tied to what they gain. Whether at work, with close friends, or with respected family members, they can extract admiration and reinforce their image. When you eventually bring up their disengagement, hoping to address the disparity, they often turn to DARVO tactics. They might minimize your concerns with comments like, “I did talk to them about xyz.” They might praise themselves for even going or deflect to another way they contributed, like driving there or bringing a side dish. These statements frame them as misunderstood, subtly making you feel unreasonable for expecting more. If this deflection doesn’t work, they escalate by devaluing your loved ones, often with private information you’ve shared (triangulation). These remarks justify their behavior while positioning them as the victim, further isolating you from your support system.
Triangulation Through Reputation: begins with the narcissist carefully crafting a positive image of themselves while subtly undermining you. They may exaggerate their contributions. These comments seem harmless but position them as virtuous while making you appear less capable or ungrateful. Over time, this builds allies who see them as the “good guy,” isolating you and ensuring others are primed to take their side in conflicts. As tension in the relationship grows, this subtle groundwork often escalates into more overt forms of triangulation. Once they’ve established credibility with their audience, they may start planting seeds of doubt about you through more direct remarks. For example, they might say to a coworker, “She’s always upset about something,” or tell a friend, “He’s so controlling, it’s impossible to make him happy.” These statements capitalize on their curated reputation, making their criticisms seem believable while positioning you as the source of conflict. This escalation allows the narcissist to weaponize the trust they’ve built with others, turning them into unwitting participants in their triangulation. By portraying themselves as reasonable and you as the problem, they solidify their dominance in the narrative, leaving you isolated and unsupported.
Triangulation Through Comparisons: pits you against others, either real or hypothetical, to foster insecurity and keep you striving for their approval. For example, they might say, “Max’s wife is so lazy, I don’t know what she does all day,” implying hidden expectations for you. When you ask for support, they escalate: “Other moms do more than you,” or, “My mom handled everything without help.” These comparisons subtly make you feel inferior to an idealized standard, creating a silent competition. The triangulation lies in how you’re positioned against these “better” people to control your behavior and maintain their power.
Triangulation Through Deflection shifts blame and redirects focus by weaponizing personal information or selective recollections. If you confront them about their social disengagement, they might say, “You’ve told me your family is critical, why would I want to spend time with them?” or reference unrelated events: “Your friend let you down years ago; why are you still close to them?” These tactics invalidate your concerns while making you question your choices. The triangulation occurs as you’re pitted against your own confidences, creating doubt about whether your concerns are valid and isolating you further.
Finally, Triangulation Through Direct Attacks is the most overt form, often used when other methods fail. Here, they openly invoke the opinions of others, saying things like, “My friends think I do more than enough, you’re just impossible to please,” or, “Everyone agrees, you’re the problem.” These attacks are jarring, often unrelated to the argument, and serve to isolate you emotionally. By positioning themselves as supported by a army of allies, real or fabricated, they make you feel alienated and outnumbered. The triangulation is clear: you’re pitted against a supposed collective, leaving you unsupported and questioning your perspective.

2024.11.27 21:42 YOLOFido Soundcore A3i - app EQ still resets every single time it's put back into the case
Looked up this issue and came across this post from January 2023. That was 2 years ago. Looks like this issue STILL hasn't been fixed. Everytime I reopen the case and reconnect, it reverts back to the unusable default EQ: 0 treble to speak of, literally feels like there's a piece of cloth put over the music.
Even stranger, after taking reconnecting the buds it does show in the app that my custom EQ is selected. See screenshot. However, my earphones are outputting the default EQ. I really do not want to have to reselect EQ every single fricking time I use the earbuds. Call me lazy, but it adds up when I probably reconnect at least 5x daily.
Anyone experiencing the same issue or know a potential fix that I have missed? If not I'll probably just return these.

I have never gotten diagnosed, but I have looked deeply into it, I’ve done quizzes and tests, and every one that I’ve taken says that I’m autistic. Although I’m a little nervous about getting diagnosed for it by a professional (if I actually have it.) For anyone diagnosed with it; have they noticed any difficulties or obstacles that have come up since getting diagnosed? (i.e, getting a job) tysm 😭🙏
