Until now things have been fine and dandy but around a few weeks ago or so I started to have display issue: whenever I perform an intensive task like gaming the screen would rapidly turn off and on for a few times before turning off completely. Initially, I was worried that either my GPU, display, or power component is dying; but then after deciding to look few times at Windows event viewer, I noticed that whenever this happens an entry in the viewer around the same period shows that the system is going to sleep because of the lid. https://preview.redd.it/9h8q3fk6gi3e1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6de8f87a2f41ed5782409dd9069809da9928e9a7 Few minutes of googling later, it seems that this is caused by a damaged Hall effect sensor, a component that determines whether the lid is closed or not. This is mostly prevalent in the HP Omen series laptop because in some model the sensor is damaged by heat over time due to its proximity to the heatsink, I have only seen two Reddit posts of this issue on HP Victus. I still have a year of warranty left so most likely I will take my laptop to HP for repair. So now I'm wondering has any of you experience the same issue? How widespread is it on the Victus series? 2024.11.27 21:31 MentallyDeclining My mother is going to send me to "boarding school" again. (tw for sh and troubled teens industry)
For reference, I started to SH (cut, scratch, pick at skin and nails) when I was 10 and stopped a little over a year ago (I'm 16 now). I still struggle greatly with my mental health, but I am not where I was. I was sent to psychiatric hospitals so many times that I failed my entire sophomore and half of freshman year. My longest trip was about 3 months, when I was sent to a "boarding school," which was somehow also a psych hospital. I'm not going to describe what they did to me, but needless to say, I was diagnosed with CPTSD shortly after I came home and I'm TERRIFIED of going back. While I was there, I would beg my parents to take me home and why for my weekly 10 minute phone call. They refused. However, the type of therapy the facility "taught" has helped me a lot, as I'm now practicing it with an outpatient therapist and have been for about a year. I know for a fact I will be sent back to receive that therapy in a "safer" environment if I am sent back to the ER.
ANYWAY. I was trying to get the leaf blower from a high shelf in the garage, and ended up nicking my forearm on the blade of a saw pretty good. At first, I was like "oh well," and just cleaned and bandaged it with alcohol and some gauze. Unfortunately, a few days later, it's gotten pretty infected. Pus, inflammation, severe pain. I have been cleaning and bandaging and applying ointment religiously yet it hasn't made any progress. However, it's perfectly horizontal like most of the scars on my arms and I know my mom's mind will jump right to "you cut yourself" if she sees it. I know she has good intentions, but I CANNOT go back to that facility.
TL;DR - infected cut looks like SH, and if my mom sees it, I'll be sent to a TTI facility.
How the hell do I get help for the infection without going back to that abusive place?

Which destination should I put on my eTravel? Davao-UK or Davao-Hong Kong? First destination or final destination?

Hi everyone,
I have an upcoming mental health evaluation, and I’m trying to figure out what kind of help I can ask for. I’ve been struggling with anxiety, and my OCD has been much worse recently. I also have a history of bad depression, which tends to get worse around this time of year, and I’m not sure how all of this might affect my mental health moving forward.
In the past, I was on medication for anxiety and depression, and it helped somewhat, but I’m wondering if going back on something might be a good option now. I’m not sure what would be best, but I want to make sure I’m advocating for myself and getting the right support. I’ve heard that social workers can be helpful in mental health settings, and I’m curious if that’s something I could ask for, or if there are other forms of therapy or medication I should consider.
I’m also struggling with balancing work and my mental health. I’m wondering if anyone has experience asking for adjustments at work for mental health reasons. What sort of changes could I request, like reduced hours or different responsibilities, to help me cope better? Additionally, if I needed to reduce my work hours, what sort of financial assistance or benefits might I be able to apply for to help during this time?
If anyone has experience navigating this process, especially around medication, work adjustments, or financial support, I’d really appreciate hearing from you. I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything that could be helpful for my situation.

I think picking a second harmony to pair with a Sunday/Jy team is a really interesting topic:
- Robin is obviously the BiS, but she's also a very high in demand unit that might be better allocated to another team
- Ruan Mei provides undiluted Res Pen and has an aura buff which means she plays nice with the AA. Speed buff means you might be able to get away with atk% boots with good speed subs, might actually make you ant an atk% orb on JY? Viability depends on how often you play break teams
- Sparkle has buff uptime issues and only 50% AA, could let you run funny 160/161 JY tech?
- Tingyun brings D3 support and good buffs, but needs to be very fast to prevent her skill from falling off. Might run into SP issues without S1 Sunday or Gal/Luo sustain
- Asta gives flat speed but does require timing not to mess up speed tuning, and has a big chunky atk% buff that doesn't rely on ally turns
- Nihility for Def shred stacking with Sunday E1 or JY on Jadecone?
- Yukong and Hanya exist

Just listened to last weeks podcast (57) and bugger me what a load of monotonous shite its becoming. 20 minutes fucking about with the stupid sound board, 20 minutes bashing Taylor’s car choices and 20 minutes actual conversation. I know there’s not a lot going on with the channel at the moment with Alex and Rory not being so active but surely they can find something to actually talk about for an hour? TDC podcast is absolutely brilliant but so is Alex’s podcast when they’re not messing about. Maybe I’m just getting old and miserable I’m not sure.

My current Stats are as follows: (A) Cumulative UGPA = 3.03 ; (B) Cumulative Graduate School GPA = 3.98; (C) LSAT score - 152 (November, 2024 exam)
To give a little context, I was unable to get accepted into Medical School, so I'm very unfamiliar with the nuances of the law school applications process. This will be my first time applying to law school. I honestly did not dedicate that much time to LSAT prep. I went right to LawHub and only took 7 (full) LSAT practice tests (1 test every Wednesday for 7 weeks straight) AND did roughly 2-3 hrs of additional LSAT prep outside of taking (simulated) practice tests. My UGPA is NOT as competitive as other applicants, so the 2 questions remains:
(1) Do I have a chance of getting accepted into a handful of respectable/decent law schools (both in-state & out-of-state)?
AND/OR...
(2) Should I dedicate a few more weeks to prep and retake the LSAT in January?
