I have started a new game and been following this guide which has been amazing. Just got my first S class fighter after grabbing storm crystals last night but I feel like I am still doing things the long way around/or missing some amazing lifehacks. If you had to start from a new game, what is an absolute must do for you? Any tips for someone starting from scratch again who has forgotten everything?

2024.11.27 23:50 SnooBunnies7366 Supabase project—am I doing this right?
I’m building a fairly basic admin tool for a reporting team to use and so far Supabase seems like a perfect fit. I’m hosting a React project on Vercel for the build and I have a ton of server side functions interacting with Supabase, Monday (our CRM), and Wordpress/WooCommerce to help with the report generation and publishing (end user views their report and interacts with our store inside their WP/WC account).
I’m wondering if my setup has potential pitfalls as I’m fairly new to managing the full stack—plus I’ve been developing locally up until now and I imagine it will be bumpier in a production environment.
Framework: I’m using regular react instead of typescript and structuring the project in a way that makes sense to me in terms of component hierarchy… using MUI Toolpad Core. The routes are simple enough and most of the processing happens in drawers overlaid on a table view. I’m the only one maintaining this at this point. Is there a strong reason to use NextJS so that there’s a more opinionated architecture? What advantages does it bring? I’ll probably upgrade to typescript down the road since I’ve been wanting to learn it but it doesn’t seem critical at this stage given need for me to move quickly. Is that a poor choice?
Users: We have maybe 15-20 admin users (with a couple of different roles) and no real need to scale that up at this point. Supabase made this part super simple to manage. Any gotchas I should think about?
Report Generation: Relies on Supabase webhook that’s served a report object—a handful of transformations are run that compile the final report (which can take 30 seconds or so but is getting a little lengthier depending on complexity of the report—the duration is primarily due to matching functions to translate raw data to Wordpress post names and resulting IDs which I have synced in a Supabase table). Someone mentioned https://trigger.dev/ —is that potentially a better approach then relying on Vercel which has timeout constraints? Also, there’s not a huge likelihood at this stage of multiple reports being generated concurrently across admin but is that a factor I should be considering?
Any other things I should be considering that I left out? Thanks y’all!

2024.11.27 23:50 SirCharlesEquine iDraw HSE and Axidraw in Inkscape is behaving oddly after a fresh install on new computer. When drawing, pen is up and literally not drawing.
I had to reinstall everthing with Inkscape for my iDraw 2.0 A3. All the extensions are there including IDraw Control, iDraw Control 2.0, and iDraw HSE.
On the laptop I previously used, iDraw control is what I used. iDraw 2.0 didn't work. That was fine with me, iDraw Control did what I needed.
Now, only axidraw control and iDraw HSE Control work, BUT... when the pen should be down and drawing, it's raised, and when it should be raised, and not drawing, it's down. When the initial movement to the first drawing point begins, it's down, and drawing a line to wherever that starting point is.
It's like it's inverted. Never had this problem with the previous computer.
Any ideas? I'm stumped and I need to get to work on some gifts this over the Thanksgiving break.

This is a house converted into 3 units. I signed the lease, so I'm aware I'm in a contract now, however not until a week later and as I'm moving in did the property manager tell me that the owner of the house lives in the unit above me. I wouldn't have picked this rental had I known this, only because to me it feels less like my space and like I'll always be being monitored to an extent. It also says snow removal is my responsibility, which is strange. I don't know if the owner will have a key to my unit, because the property manager does. I'm a single female and would not feel comfortable knowing both of them have access, even though I know what my rights are.
The other issue in just finding out is that the property manager has no idea about the "mailing address". It's one civic address on the house, and the doors do not have unit numbers. I have no idea if there's a community mailbox for each, but also how would multiple community mailboxes work if only one address?
Although this is not a requirement, I feel like telling me about the owner is proper courtesy. And not being able to answer my question about the mail is stressing me out as well. I'm downsizing quite a bit to move here and none of this has made me excited to move in anymore.
This is just a rant, I guess. I hate the renting situation in Halifax and the fact this is a fixed term lease already had be stressed out. I feel like I'm moving into a basement apartment of someone's house which I actively avoided doing for my own comfort and peace of mind.
Would this bother anyone else?

I recently had quite a bad experience in a lidl store. They hired me kept me for not even 2 months. I was also not trained properly I had no idea how to use the app to check for the rotas (I personally found it not very user friendly, especially for new starts). The reason they gave me was because I was off 3 days without being able to call in, so they terminated my probation. These 3 days weren't all at once either. I had told the manager that getting in contact with me might be a bit hard due to signal issues in my area so I suggested whatsapp which he told me was fine and there was a work gc he was going to add me to but never did. Maybe I'm over Deeping a situation that was entirely my fault but that's never been that much of a problem before in work environments I've been in, usually I've had a bit of warning too. They made me show up to a 5am shift to only tell me to come back at 730 to see the assistant manager who then went and called another manager to come and fire me. I don't know whether I'm at fault here for not being completely reliable or they're at fault for handling it in the most fuck you kind of way ever? I can't go into it any more specifically so what's your opinions. And yes I know it looks like I'm being petty but i genuinely felt like everyone I interacted with was against me there

I never wanted to get rid of something so much as this type of eczema. I started to have this for like a month mostly on my hands and I don't lie.. I can't take it anymore. It hurts too much, they itch too much until the blood comes out form them. They don't wanna go away no matter what cream I use or how much I moisturize...i tried to analyze from what they appear and I ended up thinking that is from stress because I'm at a low point in my life right now. I honestly experience itching over all my body but my hands is the most painful one because of these blisters. I can't take anymore..does anybody feel the same?
