Just a quick question! My question is what are the "stopper bars" for? They're long square wooden pieces that seem to slot into the part of the loom that has hooks for the thread to tie off to, but.. what do they do? Hold thread or something maybe? The instructions don't have any specifics and I'm having a hard time finding any tutorials or whatnot that reference them.

Building my first pc. Trying to hook up the cables and I've run into an issue. My CPU power cable has two 8 pin plugs on the motherboard. The corresponding cable that came with PSU has the two 8 plugs but the other side has a 12 pin plug with an extra deal on the bottom. I have nowhere to plug that into my PSU. I'm at a loss

I get bad headaches from earphones and headphones that don't have enough cushioning. It's really affecting me so I decided I'm going finally going to buy some wireless headphones. I know there are some clear brands to pick like Bose (I have been known to steal my s/o's QCs) but the list is what I have to choose from.
Please don't suggest alternatives as that doesn't answer my question. Details and TLDR below.

I'll be using them most days to everyday for continuous, long periods (1-5 hours) of listening to music and online audio calls, so they'd need to be comfy for that amount of time. I'd like decent noise cancelling but it's less important to me than music quality or comfort. I won't be anywhere as loud as a construction site for example, but I do take buses and trains semi-regularly and I'll be taking a long flight early next year. An aware setting like the QCs have would also be great but isn't a dealbreaker at all. I'd also prefer to hear dialogue and speech clearly rather than a more immersive audio. I do some music in my spare time but I'm assuming most good quality headphones are decent enough to do the job for amateur music recording/production. I considered the Sony XM4s but multiple reviews across sites had one (if any) negative thing to say and that was that the ear cups weren't that cushioned. My budget is ideally £150-£180 with good black friday deals but I could stretch it to £200. My main point of reference for quality and comfort is the 2023 QCs (which sadly I can't get). Feel free to ask any more questions and thanks for any info/advice!
TLDR: Uncomfy headphones make my head hurt. What brands (or models) from the list are good for quality and comfort? £150-£200 budget.

2024.11.28 00:46 No_Nectarine980 Married but thinking about and grieving the loss of a girl I haven’t seen in years

I first met this girl back when we both had just graduated high school. My mom passed from cancer when I was 16 so I was still figuring life out.
She and I had mutual friends and hit it off right away. The only downside was that she had a boyfriend but she fooled around with me on the side. I acted like I didn’t care but deep down I did and it finally came to a head. Some rumors went around that I said something negative about her and we went our separate ways. We went off to different colleges, I might have tried to keep in touch via social media or a late night drunk phone call but that was about it.
Fast forward years later and I find out that she passed away unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition. She was married and had a child at the time. I’m married and have two kids of my own.
I guess it’s part of the grieving process but my mind keeps going back to her. I wonder if things had been different if we’d ever end up together. I also live in the area not too far from where we grew up and hung out, and she’s also buried not too far from me, so I guess those are all constant reminders. When certain songs come on they remind me of her too.
Is it wrong of me to be thinking about this girl and grieving her loss? I’m happily married so I guess I feel a sense of guilt for feeling this way.

HELLOOOO renfaire. I'm so nervous posting this, as its my first time posting in this forum and not sure if this is an appropriate use of this . So please forgive me if its not, and if anyone wants to take pity on my heart and point me in the right directions- I would be eternally grateful...
So I'm going to be a first time vendor. *Internal screams* So I actually do tiny neonatal kitten rehab (aka teeny tiny day old sick bebes) in North Carolina. This year we started selling some handmade wreaths and earrings as a fundraiser. And it took OFF. This has been the literal best fundraiser that I could imagine for our non profit. We did well at a few shows and was asked to join a newer (year 3) renfaire that did fairly well last year and had jaques zee whipper. But we are nervous, as we dont want to fuck this up and we want to have the BEST DAMN BOOTH there is to help support the kittens. (Yes, I will find a way to share the link of the rescue so you can see ALLLL the tiny cute things if its okay in this forum? CAT TAX) We know that we are totally not an orthodox seen at ren faires, but we feel SO DAMN special to be included. Renfaires have a spot in my heart, I used to be a madrigal singer back in my younger days, and that whole time of my life has a fondness in my heart I cant put into words, so I really want to do right by the renfaires!
So we have a few questions..and would LOVE any feedback.

So we are doing a witches booth (witches, cats, get it) Were going for a boho feel on the outside, I sew so I'm going to TRY to re-sew the canopy for our tent with some wild saris, and do lights on the inside because it gets dark A F sometimes here...we have some cat/witch stuff, but whats the COOLEST thing you have seen as a feature at vendors booth? I mean we WILL have tiny bebe kittens with us at that time of year, but what REALLY grabbed your eye? We are going to make a sign I guess as well, if anyone knows anyone who doesnt charge 5000 to help with a sign thats "authentic" I would literally kiss you on the mouth (with consent of course, but I'd totally let you kiss a kitten if nothing else)
Trinkets - Some folks have talked about trinkets - is this something that is done by staff or vendors or participants or all of the above? We give out little kitty ears to kids (and adults who ask), does that sort of thing count? Were debating some sort of other little witchy item, but wondering again what the cool kids are doing?
@#% Where do I find clothes that arent a million dollars? You have no idea the urge to buy some of the custom pieces and make a $1200 outfit, but the non profit brain says no, because these kitties gotta eat and in the words of Nina Pool "you have no money." I really want to do a kick ass witch get up. But I want to be a pin up type witch, I want to work that shit and make that money and have a hell of a time. I'm not going for swamp witch. I live in sweatpants with cat snot on them, if I'm going to dress up were going for GOOD. I've tried some good wills and a group on FB of selling costumes but didnt know if there was any larger online spot that people maybe sold or traded costume pieces?
If you have any other tips for a first time vendor, please send them over. We REALLY want to do this big and do this right. Both the fairs are about 2 hours away from us, and its going to cost us a shit ton of money to buy inventory and hope to lord it sells, and make this a BIG success for the bebes. You all have no idea how much just doing TWO fundraisers a year would make my life. I literally have to fundraise and hustle at least one a week tapdancing to raise 40-100 bucks at time for supplies. This would not only make my life as a rescuer SO much easier, but we could provide care to more kittens. I'm just a one man operation, and am limited to what I crowdfund on facebook. Yes I'm so damn busy doing the actual rescue side of it literally the only thing I can remember to post on is facebook, and dont have the time to learn tic tok or all that, I'm sure we could make a killing on there, but legit can only do what I can. So please, yes this is me begging that if youve read this far, youre the type of person who will help. Please. Dude seriously I need it.
Last question ( I swear!!) so our fundraiser so far has been cat wreaths ( I dont even like wreaths, but like yeah they cute). We usually do halloween and spooky ones, but we want to move to other themed ones, like for fall we did a nightmare before christmas one... I'm not a *great* nerd, and when thinking about themes that renfaire would do, I'm thinking something with dragons, maybe like harry potter, star wars, star trek, pokemon, (i cant allude to disney stuff without them shutting my ass down). If there are anyother type themes you think would be a hit, in additional to our tradition style ones, would super appreciate it.

2024.11.28 00:46 mikemikenh CPU/GPU Performance Issues

So recently I updated my graphics card, and while it met expectations in some aspects for a while I've started to notice some other things like increased load times, and overall slower performance. I checked the task manager and noticed both my cpu, and gpu were running pretty high. While my GPU was at 30-40% my CPU was reading up to 97-99% 5 minutes after launching Black Ops 6. Traditionally I'm a console gamer and I'm relatively new to the PC side of things but would like to try and get things dialed in. I did realize that it says Radeon Vega Graphics, but the previous card was a GTX1650 which I believe is also Nvidia? I guess what I'm asking is did I do something wrong, or am I lacking in another aspect now? What would be the best route to go, and where should I start? I've tried my best to include specs below.
