Disclaimer: This is not a rage post whatsoever
I've played Brawlhalla on and off since the game was originally released in Beta. Throughout the years, I've gone back and fourth playing and maining a few different weapons and legends in the game, mostly sticking with sword/hammegauntlets, but I've never really stayed playing the game for prolonged periods of time all throughout it's history. Very early on in the game's life, I played quite a lot, as this was back in middle and highschool for me and I had the time as well as the drive to play the game.
Now, as I've gotten older, I get back into the game periodically pretty casually because I really enjoy platform fighter games, but I always end up quitting again, just to open it up once more in a year or so, whenever I feel like it again.
Every. Single. Time. I quit because of Scythe.
Now before you downvote me! I wanna say again that this is NOT a rage post, I want to make the extraordinarily clear. I'm making fun of myself here, and also asking for some advice.
I have probably picked up the game again and quit around 5-10 times throughout its lifetime, playing on and off for a month, and then putting it down again. Every single time, I typically quit because I get smashed by scythe so many times that I lose motivation and just give up on the game. It's not the raging, yelling type of quit either, just a slow loss of interest as I pick up other games. I remember when Mirage came out and I started getting pounded by it from the start, and as the other Scythe legends started releasing (Nix, Mordex especially) and it gained a ton of popularity, it's never gotten better. I probably lose 80% of games vs scythe players, and win almost every game against people who don't play scythe. The issue is, I feel like I fight it in almost 1/2 of my games.
I'm not a very good player I admit -- I sit around the 1800ish rage in ranked, recently peaking around 1870, just to freefall back down to around 1770 after fighting 7 scythe players in a row. I just cannot catch my breath here, and I genuinely would like some help. I've always wanted to reach diamond at least once, but I usually find myself quitting right before I am able to make that final push.
I hope you guys enjoyed my story, if you have any advice please let me know!

Shut Up and Run 5K
- Ancient City Roadrunners hosts the Shut Up and Run 5K on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at 8:00 a.m.
- This year's event includes the annual Pie Guy challenge, a raffle, and a silent auction.
- T-shirts are available for pre-registrants only. All proceeds from the race will benefit the St. Francis House homeless shelter, St. Johns County's only privately funded homeless shelter.
- Admission: Register online for $35.00 per runner.

This annual tradition promotes physical fitness and community engagement through a race toward the pies as top finishers in each First Coast Turkey Trot category receive pumpkin pies. Paying participants receive an exclusive 2024 Turkey Trot t-shirt (guaranteed to runners who register early), while all participants, regardless of admission type, enjoy a complimentary downloadable finisher photograph and finisher medal.
The event offers various running options:

- Boozin' on the Boulevard takes guests on a hop-on hop-off service to some of the local restaurants on Anastasia Island.
- This bar crawl begins at Kaiser's Deli & Market and Sogno Restaurant from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Guests will then be taken to Blackfly and Odd Birds Cocktail Lounge and Kitchen from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The tour will end at Candlelight South at 8:00 p.m.
- Each eatery will have food and drink specials — individuals must purchase a drink first from Kaiser's or Sogno Restaurant to receive a wristband. This band enables entry onto the Old Town Connect bus — a free transportation service for participants.

Each year the Nights of Pints benefits local non-profit agencies. In 2024, those agencies are THE PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club, Best Buddies, and Community Hospice & Palliative Care.
Admission: $35.00 — entitles each adult participant 21 and older to purchase a t-shirt and a punch card. With the card, a "Nights-of-Pinter" can get one free seasonal pint from each participating brewery. Purchase the t-shirt at Ancient City Brewing (two locations, one punch), Dog Rose Brewing, and Bootlegger Beach Brewing—all have punch cards.
When: Shirts and passports go on sale on November 22 and will be sold as long as supplies last. Punch cards will be honored at the participating breweries through December 31, 2024.
