Problem is, he privated the video where he shows how to do the externals/compound. I'm not super familiar with externals and I havent been able to find any videos on how to accommodate this base.
The external would come off of triangle honeycomb which is different that coming straight off of a square foundation, which seems to be the more straight forward way to place an external.
I know it's a shot in the dark but I like the base and wanna figure it out, any suggestions or help would be great.

I’m in the market for a reliable, low-maintenance small SUV, crossover, or station wagon with a budget of $15,000. I need something 10 years old or newer (a requirement from my credit union, as I’ll be financing part of the purchase) and with 110,000 miles or fewer. I typically drive around 20,000 miles a year, but since this will be my only vehicle for a while, I expect to put closer to 35,000 miles on it the first year. I'm located in Southern Appalachian, so cars are kinda sparse around here atm, not sure if it's really driven prices up yet though.
Reliability is a top priority, as I’m aiming for low lifetime costs—minimal repairs and good longevity. I’ve had good experiences with Asian brands in the past, but I’m not sure which brands or models are currently considered the best for this. I’d also prefer something with a wide rear door so I can fit furniture or other large items. Those narrow or awkward trunk openings just don’t work for me.
I’m open to hybrids but am unsure if I’ll find anything decent in this price range. I’d also consider a diesel if it would actually be worth it, but I don’t think the fuel savings would be significant for me. Gas is generally under $3 a gallon where I live, and even with 35,000 miles a year, I estimate we’d only spend around $3,500 annually on fuel.
Also a little nervous about Volkswagen as my only mechanics have been an Asian import specialist and a Volvo specialist, so I'd need to find a new one. Loved the Volvo, btw, but repair costs were going over 10k a year on a 20 year old V70, so just had to give up on her.
Things I've been looking at include Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4 / Auris / Venza, Hyundai Santa Fe / Tucson, Acura RDX, Audi Allroad, Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V / HR-V / Passport, and I find the MINI Clubman adorable.
Bonus points for features like dual temperature control, a good voice interface, and comfortable seats that aren’t overly bucket-like, though those are more “nice to have” than must-haves.
If you have any specific recommendations for models, years, or things I should avoid, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance for the advice.
