2024.11.28 05:30 Impressive-Floor-519 I'm selling a car and someone has just offered to buy it sight unseen and without a phone call.
I'm selling my car on carsales.com and I have a relatively premium price on it, but I think reasonably reflects that cars value and it has been selling. A couple of people have come out to look at it and made lowball offers.
Anyway today I got this message from someone and it just rings fishy to me, but I can't figure out what the scam might be especially if the person puts the money in my account:
"What's the final price? Why are you selling? Are there any repairs needed? What's your postal code? I accept the condition as described. Note: I'm in a remote area with limited phone access, so I'll communicate through here. I'll pay via EFT or PayPal, please send the BSB and account number. My courier will pick up and deliver to Darwin once the funds clear. I only need a receipt, no registration or roadworthy certificate is required because it will not be valid here,I'll register the vehicle in NT Darwin myself.

Can I get some advise please?
Oh and for context I have actually bought a rare car sight unseen and had it shipped so I get that happens. But I'd at least want a video walk around or something or even a chat to get to know the seller.

I’m lying here unable to sleep yet again because my life is so unbearable with narc husband. We have been together 14 years. I probably realised quite early that something wasn’t OK but had never known anyone like this before. My two long-term relationships before this were with thoroughly decent men. I recall early on when things blew up I would often be saying ‘it’s not a competition’ and ‘I haven’t done anything wrong’. Stupidly we moved in together and married. It’s my house and I pay the bills. All he’s ever paid for is his recording studio. Guitars are his life and are often used as ‘triangulation’ ie he’ll just sit and play repeatedly the same tiny fraction of tune over and over because he knows full well it’s annoying. He deliberately talks in gibberish words for his own amusement. When we’re sitting together at home he almost never looks at me, preferring to stare into the distance as though he’s really troubled (which he’s not). My cat - which came in to my life just before him - died earlier this year. The cat was loving and calm as could be with me but extremely wary of him. His thing in life is to quickly find that he is not liked and use that as an excuse to be offhand with people and he was just the same with my cat. If the cat liked or responded well to me, all he could see was how that applied to him ie by definition the cat didn’t like him. I imagine that narcs are awful with animals anyway. So here I am after 14 years with the surreal twisting reality episodes flaring up more and more frequently and the times in between only being just about bearable because of what I ignore. The last straw is we got a new cat from a rescue place a couple of weeks ago. We went together to choose and he gave every impression of being really on board with this (I know, I should have known better) even saying ‘we can take her now if you like’ which was stupid of course. I was uneasy in the run up to picking her up and even suggested we didn’t have to take her but he said I’d regret it if we didn’t. Fast forward two weeks and guess what - I’m left with no option but to return the poor cat to the rescue. He’s had no patience with her. if she doesn’t respond to his bad attempts at connecting or petting then she doesn’t like him so he can treat her as the enemy. I’ve been working so hard gaining her trust and affection only for him to yawn deliberately loudly or play the guitar loudly near her or even suddenly produce a tin whistle that he apparently had to tune in the same room as her. He’s called her an asshole and ‘that thing’. Having a cat again there was a glimmer of something making home life bearable. Now I’m full of sadness and guilt about the cat and such rage and anger that he’s controlling my life and happiness to this degree. I’m absolutely wrung out. I’m not eating and I don’t care about anything any more. I have a job which I’m good at but even that’s starting to suffer as I can’t concentrate. I have no family and my friends all live about 5 hours away so there’s nowhere I can go. I want to draw a line once and for all but don’t know if I have the strengh to hold my nerve. We’ve been here before and as soon as separation is a possibility he becomes REALLY horrible and cold and I don’t know if I’ll survive living in that atmosphere for the length of time it’ll take to extract myself. It feels like such an impossible situation. I just wish I had family(I’m an only child and parents no longer alive) so there was someone to fight my corner but I feel so alone.

My wife and I are playing a trip just the two of us. I can’t decide on location. My budget for 5days 6 nights is $10K. My wife has been skiing once, I consider myself an average skier. I can’t decide on what town to visit. Want a ski-in/out so I can hit the slopes if she doesn’t want to and I do t have to drive to a resort. Need somewhere for her to be entertained while I’m skiing. Shopping/spa etc. We have considered Jackson Hole, Park City and Beaver Creek. Aspen might be the best for her, but I don’t think $10K will get us to far.

I sent the headboard back and sticking with just the regular frame. I’m looking for alternatives that match the Thuma walnut color.
Has anyone purchased non thuma headboard to go with the walnut bed and really liked how they matched? Recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I like the thuma ones but they seem a bit small for what I’m used to and also $1k for two with shipping and taxes seems a bit much.
