 | Service on my personal i3 at my shop. The shocks have been gone for a while so they were due for replacement Evolve Shocks, new front bump stops, sleeves, strut mounts. New front brake pads/rotors, brake flush Oil Service Shameless plug our shop is Finesse Auto in Seattle, we service European and work on a lot of i3’s. Evolve shocks improvement is night and day, ride is much more compliant, less choppy/crashy and turn in is improved. I have two days until my drivers ed course expires, and I still have about 6 modules left and the summary and final test. The first 20 or so modules were around 20-35 minutes so I calculated to make sure I would finish in time, and I’m getting to the end and I come to find out these last few modules are 50 or so minutes long. I finish them in around 20 but it makes me wait the rest of the time, and you can only work on the drivers ed for four hours a day. I need help on how to bypass the timer on triple a drivers ed or I am screwed and will have to retake it and repay.

Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II is one of my favourite albums of all time, so when the 30th anniversary special edition came out, I had to pick it up, even though it's was a ludicrous price. Spread across 4 records with a sketchbook of the original artwork and all in an oak case with a hand etched copper plate of the logo on the front.
Lots of legends around this album - the lack of a proper track listing lead to the songs being named after images in the artwork, each represents in a pie chart of the sides of the record. Allegedly written while lucid dreaming, it's hard to separate myth from fact with Richard D James although I can confirm he does own a tank and once lived in a bank in Elephant and Castle.
Either way - this is my perfect album to work to and get lost in. Only critical is that it's over for discs so I keep having to get up and flip it all the time.

For weeks, they’d assign me tasks that were completely out of my skillset (with no guidance, mind you) and then set ridiculous deadlines because, apparently, urgent was their favorite word. And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, they’d give me incorrect specifications for the project. Imagine designing something for a square space and then being told, “Oh no, it was supposed to be a triangle! How could you not know?!”
Here’s the kicker: they’d call me at all hours of the night — yes, post-midnight — to discuss “urgent changes.” Mind you, these weren’t life-or-death changes; we’re not saving lives, we’re just designing. But according to them, I should be honored to sacrifice my sleep and sanity for their lack of planning and clarity.
At first, I tried to keep up. After all, I’m a professional, and I take pride in my work. Other people in the industry have appreciated my dedication, and I’ve always been open to learning and improving. But these people? Nah. They didn’t care about upgrading my skills or even giving me constructive feedback. It was more like: “Here’s a shovel. Go dig a hole. Oh wait, why aren’t you using a bulldozer? Also, why is it raining? Fix that too.”
And let’s talk about pay. You’d think for all this chaos, they’d at least make it worth my while, right? Wrong. I was being paid the bare minimum — pennies, really — for what felt like three people’s work. It wasn’t just insulting; it was laughable. Like, “Do you want fries with that paycheck?” laughable. They clearly believed exposure to their circus was enough of a reward for me. Spoiler: it wasn’t.
Eventually, my health started tanking. I finally drew a boundary (gasp!), telling them I couldn’t keep up with their 24/7 chaos anymore. Apparently, that was the ultimate sin. They fired me over WhatsApp — no meeting, no call, just a text like I was some bad Tinder date. When I asked for an official termination letter stating the reasons for my dismissal, they ghosted me. Classic.
Now, I’m left wondering: How do you deal with a situation like this? Legally? Emotionally? Sarcastically? Do I just chalk it up to “another day in corporate hell” and move on? Or is it worth pursuing some kind of justice, given the complete lack of professionalism here?
