Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a custom parking assistant application for an Android Automotive project. The application itself is working fine, but I've hit a roadblock:
I need to add a button to the launcher app that will open my parking assistant application. I’ve been digging through the codebase, but the launcher’s structure is quite complex, and I haven’t been able to figure out how to integrate the button.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
- Reviewed the CarLauncher.java and
car_launcher.xmlfiles. - Tried to understand the layout and activity logic, but due to the size and complexity of the codebase, I couldn’t determine the best way to add the button.
- Where and how to add the button in the
car_launcher.xml, is this even the correct file to do so? - How to wire it up in the CarLauncher.java to launch my custom parking assistant app?

Two story 33x33 cmu carriage home with wood roof joists with garage on first floor all on concrete slab.
My wife and I would like to make this garage portion liveable space and would like to open up the interior supporting CMU wall pictured to the right of the stair case and the left side of the garage.

Because it can't really be just the pictures, because she's talked about them MULTIPLE times. So it's already out there. Like if it only mentioned the pictures, that's already info out there. The only reason they'd fight it and bring it to court is if more info was in there.

in January I'll go visit a friend in China for the New Year. We'll be together until January 29th and then from January 30th until February 1st I have no plans so I wanted to visit whatever I could. I'll be close to Yushannan and February 2nd I have to be in Shanghai. I have many things I would like to see but in particular: Great Wall, Beijing, Terracotta army, and maybe Harbin Ice and Snow festival. What do you think is feasible? How should I organize my trip? Should I move by train or plane? What's the situation around those dates, given it's still around new year? Any suggestions will be very appreciated!
