when i boot up my PC (windows 11), my memory already hits more than 60%. That is when nothing is open. The moment i boot something up, like a game, or start my stream (i sometimes stream on twitch) the RAM goes way higher. This results in my stream or game sometimes lagging alot. Is there any way to fix the high memory?
(for information, i have 16GB of ram- which is why im wondering how there is so much memory being used in the first place)

I started this sub a while back because I love Japanese Kit Kats and wanted to have a place for related content on reddit. Initially it was fun, but it didn't draw nearly as much traffic as I thought it would. Most of that is on me as moderator. Promotion is not really my strong suit. Since I couldn't outright delete it, I took the sub private for a while. I'd like to give it another shot. 2024.11.28 14:00 Ekreed P30 pro dead, not charging.
I am taking a look at my friend's P30 pro which appears dead. At this point they have a new phone but want to try and get any photos off the phone.
A few months ago the charging port was failing, so I have replaced the port and flex and all was good when suddenly about a week ago it suddenly went black charging and shows no sign of life.
Powering it on either normally or with fastboot doesn't work, no combination of holding down buttons makes anything happen. It also isn't charging by either wireless or the charging port (my usb charger detects it when plugged, but it won't draw any current).
I hoped that the issue was with the charging flex, but reseating it and replacing it have done nothing. The battery is reading 4.1 v so seems fully charged, which makes sense since it was on charge at the time. I've disassembled it to get to the contacts for the power button and they seem to be working when I tested them, and when assembled you can detect the 4.1v battery voltage on the main board through some exposed contacts on the board, so it seems to have power.
At this point I'm really not sure what else I can do since all the components I know how to check seem to be working or at least have power. I'd be happy if it was vibrating or something that might mean it has a dead screen, but I don't think so since there's no indication that anything is happening when you push the buttons. Is it likely the main board is dead? If that is the case, is there any way to rescue the data? Is there anything else I can try? Is this likely something fixable but not by me or should I just give up and say it's unsalvageable? Thanks in advance for any help.

2024.11.28 14:00 EmiliaOrSerena Is there a middle ground between all players drawing from the same deck and having their own decks to draw from? How could I deal with the randomness of big decks without cluttering the table too much?
I'm trying to create a game where each player has their own character and moves around a board. Characters have their own abilities, but can also gain (mostly one time use) spells. Now I am torn on how to achieve that in a fun and thematic way without overcomplicating things.
When thinking of similar games that do this I think of Eldritch Horror or Talisman, where you just draw the top card of a spell deck and that's it, that's your spell. My problem is that this rarely feels very flavorful for your character, and often leads to you having useless cards you sometimes can't even get rid of. Say you're playing a magical archer, a fireball or counterspell doesn't seem to fit nearly as well as some magical arrow or invisibility spell. In Eldritch Horror this feels less of a problem, though there too you often just draw something that's just useless for your character.
On the other hand, each character could have their own spell/skill deck that they draw from, and maybe just shuffle back once they've used all of them. This would of course ensure that the spells make thematic sense, however that also makes it way more annoying to set up. You have to make sure those cards stay together and it adds another small deck of cards per player to the table. It also makes it way harder to create new characters when you also have to create a new deck for each of them.
Since I want to keep it fairly simple, I'm wondering if someone has any ideas for that. One simple thing I thought of was a simple rule of "Draw 3 spells, keep 1". Or having 2 different decks, with the players knowing that one generally has more support spells, while the other has more combat spells. I'm very much willing to compromise to keep it more simple, so those two things might already be enough to solve that problem for me, but I'm hoping other people might have more ideas. Overall I do want to keep some randomness there, though I'm happy to hear other ideas too, e.g. having 4 faceup cards that all players can see and pick from.
I'd also love to hear of examples on how it can be done differently! Runebound comes to mind there, too complicated for what I'm trying to make, but I did enjoy that system.

I didn't see much change in my body but then I have a 20lb unopened rice pack at home. I lifted it up and then reminded myself that this is how much I lost. I had gained that 20lbs pretty quickly so that's why it might have been a little hard for me to see the changes but at the end of the day it is a significant change and I am looking forward for more.
