We have a now 5 week old and before he was born, my husband and I both agreed that we most likely wouldn’t be going to any family gatherings over the holidays since his immune system would still be developing and would not have had his vaccines yet.
For context, all the people that would be at this gathering (6), he has already met (masks while holding) but none of them are vaccinated for literally anything and that really bothers my husband. Even though I believe in vaccines, I’m a little more accepting of it since it’s how I grew up.
Yesterday, I was feeling a lot of sadness for missing out and expressed this to my SO and it ended in a big fight. Now he’s open to us going but only because of me so he’s compromising big time.
I’m just having second thoughts since all of these people have already met him, it’s a small group and we can take extra precautions while there (baby wearing, masks, etc). Are we being overly cautious considering the circumstances? Or is it better for us to stay in his newborn bubble right now?

Hi all,
So I am currently 8 months postpartum and have suffered with MH and ADHD my whole life, this baby is my third and I have had postpartum depression after every single one, yay for me!
I have changed my medication a few months ago to Venlafaxine, starting dose was 37.5mg twice daily and to increase every two weeks. Within the last week or so, I’ve increased from 112.5 to 150mg and I feel like I’m going out of my mind. I don’t feel right at all, almost as though I’m in a fish bowl, dizzy, drained etc. I know what I am feeling would be because of the increase but I’m hoping for some supportive words and a light at the end of the tunnel as I’ve got two little ones at home every day and I feel awful 😭

2024.11.28 14:00 dakubeaner Why are movies these days so horrendously terrible?
Just came back from watching Gladiator II with my girlfriend. I’m at a loss for words how terrible this sequel is. Everything from the awful action scenes, vomit inducing CGI bloat, lazy plot writing, and climax (or lack thereof) was an absolute displeasure to sit through.
I want to preface this by saying I am NOT anti-woke, but Hollywood goes so over the top to be inclusive with adding an insert Asian/Black/minority/LGBTQ character here that provides no significant impact to the overall story. You know what was great? Scar from Lion King having a sinister, suggestive queer demeanor which was amazing and actually solidifies his character in the Disney universe. But I’m so tired of Hollywood inserting characters like it’s a chore they need to mark off on their checklist. It’s exhausting.
The first thing I did was rewatch Gladiator I when I got back home. I’m speechless. Phenomenal character building, storytelling, good balance of live actors and CGI, acting, script, music…Must I go on? We have certainly regressed in filmmaking as a society compared to the movies we grew up watching.
