Hey,
The short post I made about "FP in Scala" course got much more likes than I anticipated. I'm very happy but because there were only two short comments, I'd like to ask you for some feedback.
There is a lot of education materials about Scala and FP online, and there are some courses at universities (although, not that much) and lectures at meetups and conferences, etc. What do you think people like me - who make talks, videos, and lectures - could do more or better? More courses for beginners? More deep dives into specific technologies? And in what form: YouTube videos? Coursera courses? Free talks on video platforms, like streams on YouTube, Twitch, or Discord? Offline lectures, like on meetups? Or maybe you have a feeling there is enough material on the internet but it's not organized well enough?
Give me your thoughts. Whatever comes to your mind.

Hi community! With NYE approaching, I want to dress my pregnant belly in something different than stretchy fabric. I'd like to make a dress or a skirt that is A-line and cut on the bias. Ideally I'd avoid gathers in the waistline to make space for my belly, as really I'm tired of maternity dresses with gathers...
Does anyone have recommendations as to how to adapt an A-line pattern for pregnancy, or where to get a pattern that would correspond to what I'm looking for?
So far I'm thinking moving the waistline up and flaring the skirt sufficiently to fit my belly. Would that work? Is there a better way? 🤔

Hey all -
I know absolutely nothing about scripting or coding and have relied on hero "Doug" for iTunes/Music management for many years. Issue: I have 10s of thousands of uploaded songs that I have been slowly converting to Apple Music versions. I want to copy play counts over (as I have smart playlists based on play counts), but you (apparently) can't set them manually in an iCloud based Music library.
Somehow years ago I figured out a super basic script (I was very proud of myself) that worked; I lost it and have tried to recreate it. It seemed to work, but it does no longer. I am on the Sequoia beta, so not sure if that borked things.
Try to contain how impressed you are:

tell application "Music" set player position to 5000 previous track end tell
I assigned it to a keyboard shortcut and just pressed it repeatedly to quickly increase the play counts. Now, I'm getting a parameter error. I thought maybe the 5000 was the issue because the song isn't actually that long, but it did it work at some point I swear. I tried being clever by setting player position to next track - 0.1, but I'm not clever so that didn't work.
Any ideas?

Any advice would be appreciated — or maybe this is just the way the US healthcare system works!
I’ve always been overweight due to thyroid issues, and nothing has worked to lose weight until now. I started taking Zepbound at 240 lbs / 5’10” about 6 months ago. I was prediabetic and had high blood pressure. It was covered by insurance (“morbid obesity”, not “weight loss”), otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to afford it.
Fast forward 6 months and I’m under 210. Very happy with the results! Still overweight, but well on the journey to a healthy place. However, I just switched jobs and my insurance changed. I submitted the preauthorization and they declined — because I no longer meet the obesity standard they require for coverage. Of course I don’t! I’ve been taking Zepbound for 6 months and it has worked as intended.
I’m anxious to abruptly come off a 12.5mg dose with no plan for maintenance. Since this is the only weight loss solution that has actually worked, I’m worried I will just gain the weight back (at which point I’d qualify for Zepbound again, I suppose, but is that really what needs to happen?) I’m submitting an appeal, but I don’t expect it’ll change anything.
What should I do?
