i do not remember much about this book but i will try my best! I'm pretty sure its a graphic novel though. It does have pictures!
Its could have been made after 2015 (i think)
This book or graphic novel is about a young teen who lives in a beach area with his dad, who works in lighthouse or something similar of that sorts. His mom died or she is a mermaid (???) The teen is drawn to the water but his father disproves of it.
I do remember this one scene which he is being bullied on a field trip to a aquarium and a hammerhead shark starts banging on the glass along with other sea creatures which makes the glass cracks. The bully calls him a name, maybe fish (something)
Another scene i remember is that he starts to drown underwater and this mermaid-ish thing goes near him
his dad and him get into a fight.
in the end he goes to live in the Ocean but he goes to visited his dad after years. he has a beard by the end of the book. he can breath underwater (???)
I'm sorry but i don't remember much!
some details about the book that i can think of
- I think it was paperback
- it was not super long
- the art style was not super cartoony but i could be wrong.
