Do you have someone in your family who loves gardening? Here's a cool gift idea I came across. Bonus points if they watch the TV show Alone because it was created by Nicole who's been on the show twice (if you haven't seen the show you should give it a try, it's an interesting concept).
It's a gardening kit with seeds for 10 different plants that can be used to make various herbal remedies. It also comes with a book written by Nicole where she goes over everything you can make with the plants from ointments and teas all the way to essential oils and infusions. It's not something you'd find in a normal store so it makes for a unique gift especially if the person you're buying it for is a fan of natural remedies.
I ordered a kit for my Mom's birthday earlier in the year and she was a massive fan of it. She now makes her grandkids sleepy tea before bed whenever they sleep over and always offers us some substance she makes from the feverfew if we complain about a headache. I think she's probably made every recipe in the book and it's only been 9 months.

A gang used LGBT dating app Grindr to lure men into meeting, police said, before violently assaulting them and stealing their belongings.
Demalji Hadza, 21, Abubaker Alezawy, 21, Ali Hassan, 20, Wasim Omar, 24, and Mohammed Sharif, 22, preyed on members of the LGBT community in a campaign of robberies, prosecutors said.
The five men were convicted of stealing £100,000 from men in Birmingham and Derby over a 10-month period.
Detectives said some victims were held for hours against their will and left fearing for their lives while their accounts were raided.
All five were convicted of conspiring to commit robbery and are due to be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on 28 and 29 November.
The spree, which began in April 2023, saw men encouraged to meet at locations under the pretence they were meeting with a legitimate user on the Grindr app, West Midlands Police said.
But when they arrived, they were set upon by an armed gang, who sought to steal money, vehicles, house keys and identification documents.

As the title implies, this is my first ever black Friday. I didn't even know tomorrow is black Friday until a few hours ago.
I understand that many people do a lot of planning to make the most out of it. But that doesn't seem to be an option for me anymore lol.
So i thought i might as well ask here.
I'm good on clothes. So no clothing advice please.
I like functionality over form. So anything that I can get relating to my car, my phone, my tablet?
Like I was thinking of getting a new phone (android please) and maybe something to make my time in my car a bit easier (I do uber eats) or maybe something for my Samsung tablet (like a keyboard cover with mouse pad?) or maybe something else that I'm not even thinking of?
Tldr; I was too busy with life to even know it's black Friday tomorrow. Need some advice on what to do to make the most of it. Functionality prioritised over form.

- I traveled a lot and met many good people who were Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, atheists, and Jews. The notion that God would condemn people for believing the wrong religion was grotesque and absurd. It would mean condemning most of the planet. I know lots of good Christians, but the Christians I know aren't any better than people of any other religion. It seems like the only people who could genuinely believe only Christians will be saved are people with a very limited scope of the world, because when you're exposed to good people outside of that religious and cultural context, the notion is absurd. It's much more believable that everybody's wrong is just living with their silly ideas about the world. That's already true for so many other things, so why not God and religion?
- The Christian view of God and the universe is so small and human-centric in a way I just can't believe. The universe is so huge and complex, and there's so much even on earth that has nothing to do with humans. The idea everything exists for humans or with humanity as the focus just seems absurd. We're such a tiny part of nature. It's so obvious the Christian god is described in man's image, with God caring about what human societies do and how people worship Him. We aren't that important. We're one tiny part of nature, and I can't believe that a creator would care so much about us or our civilization when we're so small in the grand scheme of things.
- The times I was the most faithful, praying the most, were the times things were going really bad and I really needed help. Help didn't come. Friends and family unalived themselves, my career after grad school didn't work out, etc. The times things went well were the times I was the least faithful. The variables were things like the people around me, my environment, my job, etc. Why does God do nothing for the people who need Him most? Why does He reward people who were born into privilege? Why do bad things happen to good people, and good things happen to bad people? Why does God condemn some people to wither away in agony, and help others get rich? No moral god. Grotesque.
- Philosophy has been more consoling to me than Christianity ever was. It's so much more meaningful to gain a helpful perspective from the existentialists, or Epicureans, or whoever than to have blind faith.
- There's great meaning and value in a lot of transgressive and even blasphemous art. Black Metal is just a cathartic form of rock music. Extreme Horror is just a form of fiction. But these things tell truths about the human experience that you shouldn't turn away from, because ignoring them is to ignore parts of reality and human creativity.
