So yeah. That's pretty much it. I (19) have had both the fortune and privilege to be born when the internet and my parents were relatively older and more lax. As a result I've been...exposed at an early age. Now. My parents are not irresponsible. They've raised 3 sensible girls before they had me...it's just that I was always curious and self aware as a child and my parents thought it wise to let me be instead of being to strict like they were on my sisters.
Anyways! That's not the main point. The point is that at age 14 I first discovered the Webtoon "Castle swimmer" after trying to find something new from all the boring "shes not like otger girls" wattpad cliches.
Castle Swimmer was my first yaoi/BL (if you don't know what BL is go to Google you bumpkin). I haven't looked back since.
Just this year I moved to yuri/Gl(love it!) and have been alternating between these two forms of romantic orientation in stories and basically any media. For 5 years. (With the exceptions of some straight hetero poly relationships).
Now I don't sexualise relationships but most straight media have cabbages for brains with the so called "romance" and female being as bland as water or something my British aunt would cook (with some exceptions).
The worst part? I'm a Christian so I feel like I should be...you know...yeah. Sorry. Can't really put it into words bit you get the idea!
Help. Seriously. What do I do? How do I get my interest back. I've read 70+ books this year but only 5 straight ones and that was only because the FL was bad ass.
Please. Someone. Tell me your secrets. Give me some advice...😭

Potential career changer here seeking autonomy over my own work and genuinely helping people in what I do.
YouTube is full of American FA videos which largely agree that this job is almost entirely a commission-based sales job. I can easily see how US corporate culture would distort such a profession into a greedy, snake oil kind of thing.
So I have a few UK-specific questions as this info is incredibly hard to find online:
- is the advising scene significantly different between the UK and US? When people say things like 'it's a 100% sales job' does this apply much less in the UK?
- is it actually possible to make a stable income without peddling products for a company, or spending 95% of your time cold calling people to get clients?
- is it naïve to hope that after 5 or so years, I could have an established clientele and generate a decent income by mostly just serving these people?

It’s approaching the end of first semester and retrospectively I realised that the people I would get along with well were the ones were the first people I met randomly in my accommodation. It’s been nearly 2 months since then and I regret not messaging them earlier about meeting up. I’m in catered accommodation so I see them around quite often and I want to become friends with them but it feels awkward as they have formed a group and messaging them out of the blue from someone they probably forgot doesn’t seem like a good idea.
Should I just let it go, I have made plenty of friends in my block, course and societies so I’m not exactly lonely but I regret not choosing to hang out with them. Is it weird to message them or say hi out of the blue?

To me this symbolised how this conflict has outgrown her strength. She is loyal to a fault and her moral compass always points the same way, she'll always choose to protect those that she cares for and forgive their past sins. But it is no longer Zaun vs. Piltover, which was a world that she understood and where she had some influence (through being a Zaunite and having a relationship with Caitlyn). Having lost her connection with Caitlyn and the trust of the Zaunites after becoming an enforcer, she has pretty much no (political) influence left in either world. She's also not someone willing to sacrifice civilians (like Jinx) or play shady policial games (like Caitlyn) to reach her goals. This situation cannot be fixed by simply beating the right baddies up, and she won't play the game the others are playing. After carrying everyone in season 1, she is out of moves. This leads her to depend on Jinx a bit more during act 2 ("You really wanna know my opinion?"), which helps them to grow closer again. I think it may even help reconnect her with Caitlyn in the end. For once, Caitlyn could help Vi instead of the other way around, and show that she loves her.
Tl;dr A strong moral compass and two over-sized bitch mittens aren't enough to end a war, apparently.

I bought a HD650 recently, which required a lot to drive, so I also got a Audient iD4 audio interface to drive it.
It's working alright, but I only just realized that I might not need an audio interface, since I ONLY need to drive my headphones, I don't care about recording or anything.
My question is: Will just a headphone amp suffice, instead of an audio interface, or will I need a DAC too, whatever that is?

2024.11.29 00:02 windflex Got annoyed with having to carry this magnetic rangefinder around and wanted to rig something so it would attach to my pushcart. Found an old hinge and it did worked surprisingly well.
Gonna paint it black so it blends in with everything else. I prefer this bushnell phantom over the point and shoot range finders and I don't like to play with anything in my pockets so I'm happy this worked to where it's always visible/adjustable. Shout out to the random hinge in my garage.
