Hey everyone!
I’m in the process of upgrading my setup to a dual-screen configuration, and I’d love some advice on picking the right second monitor. My budget is ~500€, but I can spend a little extra if it’s worth it.
Current setup I currently have the BENQ GW2765HT monitor (IPS/27”/1440p/60Hz), which is a good monitor from what I read. My main issue with it that when I watch movies, since I am in a dark room and I don’t like to have ambient lighting, the blacks just aren’t deep enough. Dark scenes often look washed out, and it’s hard to make out what’s happening.
What I’m looking for
- Not curved
- Aspect ratio: 16/9
- Size: 27” to 32”
- Resolution: 1440p/4K
- Panel Type: I don’t want an OLED, despite reading the technology has improved I’m still too afraid of burn-ins. I know the low contrast ratio is a common problem when it comes to IPS panels, so maybe I should look at a VA panel?
- Refresh Rate: anything from 144Hz or higher is fine (I recently read about the changes to AMD FreeSync minimum requirements, so I'd like to avoid anything with lower RR)
- Adaptive Sync: I use an NVIDIA GPU, so G-Sync support (or at least FreeSync) is a nice-to-have, but not a dealbreaker
- Extra features: built-in speakers and/or a USB hub would be a big plus! I don’t need a KVM switch.
- Response time/HDR: not a priority for me

I get the horror games is a popular pick for people but I'm sick of the horror games. It's nice to see Jay play certain horror games that maybe hot at the moment, but I just can't bother to watch him play one almost everyday or every other day. I was looking for some advice on these courses to select. The main one is sem 1 where I have heard a lot of rough things about 701 but not a lot about 723. I am really struggling to decide which to do, and at this point, I just want to have the course with the 'easiest' time so I can focus more on the research/capstone project. It is basically the same for sem 2 but I don't really know much about the 2 courses. Any previous experiences or advice on any of these courses would be very appreciated. Thanks

I want to write a high school au that is set around the two main characters bonding through getting leading roles in a musical. I’m realising that in my head while I can envisage how they are acting out a big final scene, I don’t want to just start writing out lines from a script of course.
Do you have any tips for how to set the scene when writing a musical scene?
For context, I’m using Spies Are Forever and I’ve wanted to use One Step Ahead and that scene (no spoilers!) as a catalyst to some events that have led to their chemistry building offstage.

New GMC AT4 3500HD. Love it. Looking to make it a little more aggressive. Are the cheap lift kits that horrible? I'm looking at 4-6 inch lift. Sounds like lots of the ride quality comes with shocks and control arm angles. What are your experiences with a similar truck and lift and towing a gooseneck 28 foot horse trailer.

I haven't been bowling long. 166 average in league. Right handed. Thumb in. 14.5-15Mph 275 rpm.
Arsenal: P2, The Road, Ice for spaces.
The lanes are oiled immediately before league and we are on fresh. I'm told it's a fairly oil THS which makes a lot of sense because in open bowl my P2 hooks a lot more and I can play farther left.
I start league with my P2. My typical problem in league is hitting right of the head pin. In short I expect more hook than I'm getting and start moving right. When I'm moving right I'm finding a ton of friction of finishing Brooklyn. Changing target gets me back to finishing right of the pocket.
My teammates are friends and amazing bowlers. 234, 224, 219 averages iirc.
First game last night I bowl a 96... terrible. 5 splits. Bunch of bad leaves and open frames. Teammate tells me to "stop fighting" the P2 and get The Road out, move left, and reduce ball speed a bit. Game 2 186 game 3 200.
My question: What queues do you guys look for when considering a ball change?
