yes, this is an unpopular opinion as almost all people I talked about it with, have disagreed with me.
disclaimer: I am talking about my experience with people I know, seen and talked with, and I live in a developed country, and being in a developed country does matter because it is easier to fall into poverty in a "3rd world country" than a "1st world country" because developed countries have institutions and government agencies to help people who struggle and prevent deep poverty overall.
So, I am very tired of seeing so much people blaming everything else, mostly the economy and government for their financial irresponsibility. they are talking about how the ecenomy crippled their life, while I can mostly clearly see that they are the ones who are at fault for all their debts and financial struggles. these people do bad life decisions, bad financial decisions and bad planning/strategy overall. and its especially baffling to see it happen nowadays when so much information is avaliable online if you really want to know how to be financially responsible. In my experience, a lot of people mismanage their finances while claiming external forces ruined it for them.
for example I know several people who work at two jobs, at the expense of their health, because "I need this money bro! I have a family to feed!", at the same time they go and spend like 300$ a month on drinking and weekends, spending like 500$ extra, monthly, on expensive, unhealthy groceries.
I know a person who got into debt because he irresponsibly sleeps with a lot of women and has like 3 child support he needs to pay every month
I know several families who really struggle with moeny and always ask for help, and then when I visit them I immediately see a lot of unnecesary things they spend money on. like... if you really struggle with money and being 10kUSD in debt, maybe you should not buy a fucking 5$ mac&cheese, nearly every day?! it is very unhealthy, and besides, you can easily cook it yourself for like 30 cents! 5$ mac&cheese thats around 150$ a month just for mac&cheese!
I know a family that always complains about their finances and then they buy an expensive furniture/car, and when I ask them, why would they do that? dont they prefer saving that money or working less to not ruin their health and spend time with their kids and family? isnt family and health and your sanity more important that a shiny BMW? they say oh but we really need this cafurniture and explain me everything in detail. no, these are excuses, in my opinion
and all these people get defensive and angry when I point this out! while blaming the government, economy, the prices, whatever.
I have a lot of other examples but you get my point. when I was 19 I left my home to rent an apartment for a year and all these people told me I need at least 2-3k USD a month just to survive! trust us we know! the economy is harsh nowadays! and I said yea yea sure, shut up. because I calculated everything in advance. long story short I rented an apartment alone, doing all the bills and groceries, but also buying drinks and weed which is expensive (I regret it). and I felt quite comfortable, I was eating cheap and healthy food. and I did all that for like 1.3k USD a month, and I still had money left. and all this because I just took myself some god precious 40 minutes googling, doing my research, budgeted carefully, I cooked cheap healthy food, saved money and when I shared this with those same people, they dismissed me, saying, "but you don’t have a nice car!" or "you can't afford clubbing every weekend!" "have you seen your apartment?!"
In my opinion, not working your ass off and being worried about a crippling debt and bills is waaay more valuable than flashy cars, constant partying, overpriced food and dating 3 girls a month. It’s frustrating and sad to witness it all because it feels like you're watching someone throw a life jacket away while claiming they're drowning.
make up your priorities people! I prioratize health and being relaxed and in peace of mind. this makes me happy.
sure, you can always give examples where people really struggle because of the actualy shitty economy, government or big corpos, and I understand that, truly, I know it sucks. but from my own experience, its not the case for most people, most people are just stupid and blame everything except themselves.
do not extrapolate my opinion on ALL people, I didn't mean ALL people, only those I know and seen, including in other countries

Questions
- DuroMax says the gen has a Bonded Neutral. Will it be compatible with my transfer switch? Should I be worried?
- Is XP7000iH overkill? Battery charges only at 1800W on 120V. I can as well go with a small inverter gen, but I like the extra power, runtime and efficiency this one gives.

2024.11.29 01:32 NavicNick Looking for a specific, very low microphonic cable for my IEMs
Forgive me if I use some terms incorrectly, this is all still sorta new to me. Skip to the bottom for the question if you don't want the background.
Background: I've got the Letshuoer S12 Pro, and while I quite like it, I needed a more comfortable cable. The stock cable was too heavy and not flexible, so it ended up twisting the IEMs in my ear uncomfortably. I ended up getting a used Tripowin Zonie with the recessed 2 pin connector, and cutting the plastic edges of the connector off so they'd fit in the S12 Pro. Reason being, I had the normal 2 pin, but similar to the stock cable, it twisted in my ear uncomfortably. So, I wanted a cable that had a close to right angle bend on the connector, and this has made it very comfortable to use.
So, the modded Tripowin Zonie is very comfortable (very important to me) but the problem is that I can hear every little sound come up through the wire (microphonics?). Breathing, super slight movement of my head, rustling of the cable against my shirt, and lots more is very noticeable when things get quieter in the music or movies I'm listening to.
I've thought about custom cables but I'd rather not spend close to $100 or more on a cable. I'd also like to not have to buy multiple cables just to find one that works, as I've already spent weeks and many amazon returns trying to find an IEM that is comfortable for me, and I'd like to not have that experience again but with cables.
Question: Is there a cable that will reduce (and basically eliminate) the microphonic noise I'm experiencing while still being flexible and light enough to be comfortable, with either a right angle 2 pin connection or a recessed 2 pin connection that I can cut the plastic off of, while costing less than $40?
If you have other suggestions on how to reduce this noise, I'd also like to hear it, but it seems like changing the cable might be the easiest.

What I like about the frame is essentially the matte QLED display, hopefully deep blacks, as I typically work in dark mode, and I work at least 8 hrs/day 5 days/wk. Whatever I get I'll mount it on the wall or equivalent.
Or should I focus on something that's made as a computer monitor, Samsung also offers M70D, Asus offers PG42UQ, LG offers 48-inch "ultragear" and there's always Dell, a safe choice for work.
I don't think I'd be using the art mode. And I feel it's a bit odd to buy The Frame in the smallest size available? Maybe a little worried about what folks write about fiddling with the controls to have it set up right as a computer monitor, and just not necessarily getting the best bang for the buck (60Hz, dangle needed for usb-c laptops, etc.; and The Frame is overpriced in my country, $1k3 instead of $797 on newegg)
P.S. There was a post from someone who had The Frame mounted on the wall right above their desk, sadly that reddit account is deleted and I cannot ask them my question.
P.P.S. I'm currently using LG 32UN880-B, that's matte, 31.5-inch, 4K, usb type-c (thunderbolt) with power delivery, a fancy swivel leg/stand that I don't use much. I'm generally happy with that. What I would improve are the size (100cm width would be the sweet spot, allowing my tired eyes more distance between eyeballs and the monitor), brightness (a little hard to use on a sunny day), and my posture (I'd hang the monitor on the wall or custom mount, rather than have it stand on the desk).
