2024.11.29 01:32 Free-Pen8553 New Bose QC Ultra Headphones First Impression
First time buying Bose headphones and I'm honestly very impressed with the QC Ultra Headphones. I'm upgrading from an older pair of Beats Studio 3, which were great for a first over ear headphone. After years with those, I needed an upgrade, and specifically an upgrade that (at least in my Head Canon) felt more "mature." So, I ended up with the Bose QC Ultra Headphones.
Honestly, I love them so far. My first impression of them is just how comfortable they are. I can wear them for a long time with little fatigue. Also, they have a very good ANC capability, making these potential winners for travel. It's simple to swap between your preset modes too, so toggling the ANC on or off is pretty easy. I'm speaking essentially here, because the ANC doesn't exactly have an "off" switch, but rather when configuring the modes, you can set ANC from 0-10, zero being the minimum.
I think the Bose app functions pretty well with these. The app is responsive, easy to navigate, and simple for beginners to change basic EQ settings. The EQ sliders seem to actually have a noticeable impact on these headphones too, which is nice for the non-audiophiles. For me, I found this EQ to be a little lacking, so I went with other people's suggestions and downloaded the Wavelet app. (Game changer)
The Wavelet app really brings the best out of these! I'm personally a little new to bass tuning specifically, so it took me some time through multiple tracks to get things just right, but there's more than enough options to modify the sound to your liking. But this isn't a Wavelet review lol. After getting the sound right for me, I put on my go-to bass tester song - Too Late, The Weeknd. That's a killer song to test the gain threshold while not compromising higher freqs. I found these headphones with the right tune really do come to life. They're really impressive! I'm recommending them to anyone wanting a very capable over ear ANC headphone, that's also user friendly and intuitive, and high quality. I think there are some slight gaps in the lower treble to mid-tone ranges, but otherwise, they're fantastic!
9/10 first impression.

I am constantly unable to level up my skill through cards of the same type. I am playing Strike Todoroki but every time I pick up a red card it goes directly in my inventory and no matter what I do I can't use it to level up abilities. Also when I claim a reward from the missions menu the game crashes. The game has existed for too long for there to be this many bugs. Fix it.

No you want to know real abuse…
- Britney Murphy, whose older husband, lived off her and isolated her to the point of not allowing her to go to the hospital. Which lead to her early death.
When in reality, unknown to her, he had taken over 3 million of her money in just three years of marriage. He even had a child he was putting through school with her money and she didn’t even know he had a child.
- Johnny Depp, was blacklisted and lost his career after his wife Amber Heard accused him of abusive.
“I did not punch you. I was hitting you.”
And even her telling him to…
“Tell the world. I Johnny Depp, a man, is a victim of domestic violence…see how many people believe or side with you.”
He is still labeled the abuser, because he said things in text he shouldn’t have.
- Tina Turner, was abused in every possible way by her husband and due performer Ike Turner.
- Demi Lovato, was groomed by Wilmer Valderrama, who took advantage of her “daddy issues”.
- Andrea Kelly, was physically abused by her husband R Kelly. Not only did he abuse her but sexually abused their daughter. She had to escape him, and lived years of financial struggle because R Kelly refused to pay child support as a way to “punish her.”
Im not saying non of her exes have treated her bad in some way, but to act like she is a victim of some form of abusive in every relationship she has ever been in.
It’s just not true. I’m glad it’s not because no one deserves abuse, but abuse is a serious thing that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
I’m sorry, someone not putting up with her bullshit and controlling ways, isn’t abuse.

So I’m looking at amps to buy for around $150. I can get a fender frontman 20 watt for $100 but I’ve seen people say that’s not a good deal. I did some looking and I can get a boss katana mini which is seven amps for one hundred aswell. Or I can get an orange crush twelve for a little bit more at one hundred ten. I'm confused. Are these red flags or am I exaggerating?
TW: Explicit sex described (sorry for the details, but I really need to explain the situation)
I (40F) met a guy (44M) about a month ago. We went on 2 coffee dates, talked on the phone and texted regularly.
Our third date was "Netflix and chill" I ofc knew what was going to happen, as he had been very direct about wanting things to get sexual.
So I came over to his place, we had a little chat, and then got it on (we both really wanted to do it).
During the act, a couple of things happened that scared me.
Keep in mind this was our first time having sex and had no prior talk about likes / dislikes, what we're comfortable with, boundaries or anything like that.
So here goes.
- At first I got nervous bcs we didn't have a condom and he was getting near my pooch (In our phone convos I explained that I was NOT open to having unproteced sex). I asked him to stop. He was reluctant and tried to talk me into having unprotected sex. I refused a couple times and he stopped.
I started playing along with it, pretending to push him away.
He got really horny.
I started to feel uncomfortable as I thought, what if I really don't want to do something and he thinks I do, so he forces me to do it?
I got turned off at this thought and he noticed. He stopped and asked what was going on. I explained and he said it was just play.
- We went to buy condoms. On the way back he said he would use the condom and take it off when I didn't notice. I again got upset, and he said I was exaggerating. That it was a joke.
- At one point, he was on top of me. He put his hand around my neck as if trying to choke me. I could tell he was being careful, grabbing only the sides of the neck and not using a lot of pressure. In a weird way, I even felt it was "gentle" like not actually trying to hurt me (I later looked up choking during sex and found this is actually a thing, the way he was doing it is how it's suggested on YouTube).
I didn't say anything about this, but it freaked me out.
- We were in a position that hurt me. I said so, and he immediately stopped so we could adjust and it didn't hurt anymore.
- I was tired and said I wanted to sleep. He got excited and said he could fuck me while I slept (ofc I didn't sleep)
- He was really hungry so we went to the kitchen for something to eat. I just had an apple (what I wanted). I was peeling it and cutting it up (it's how I like it).
He then said that he never tried it before like this, kind of laughing.
This may be weird, but I felt this abusive. Like he was trying to trick me into eating the apple, so I wouldn't like it and he could make fun of me (am I exaggerating???).
I'm confused bcs while I would label all these behaviors as aggressive and red flaggy, it seemed like he was just getting off on the idea of it.
Besides those specific incidents, he was respectful and attentive to my needs. When he noticed I was nervous or upset, he wanted to talk about it. He really tried to make me comfortable.
He asked what turns me on. He tried really hard to make me satisfied, he repeatedly said "I want to make you really happy". Made an effort to make me come (I did).
So, my question is...
Would I be really stupid if I keep seeing this guy?
I wouldn't feel comfortable about having sex again (at least not right now, before we have a talk about all these things), but I was thinking maybe keep dating and see how it goes.
Or should I just block him and forget about him, as these are pretty clear red flags and it's showing abusive behavior?
My worry with this behavior is that while he said it was a joke and he was just playing, maybe he wasn't.
What if one day he gets triggered, he loses control and acts on it?
