2024.11.29 03:42 the_other_Jorge Thank you Holy Mother šŸ„¹

Thank you Holy Mother šŸ„¹ I went to go see my Patron Saint the Miraculous Virgin Mary today since I unfortunately couldn't yesterday when it was her feast day, as I went with my rosary (on the left) to pay homage and say a prayer. I asked her to watch over me and to help me the church was empty by the way. And after lightning my candles and saying grace. I saw the rosary on the right that wasn't there at all with her colors. I was in an emotional shock that she gave me her blessing, I thanked her with tears and had it blessed with holy water and will use it as my daily rosary. A little back story...I made Miraculous Mother Mary and St. Jude my patron saints because they literally saved my life when I had no one to go to. Miracles from the Lord are real and I can happily testify that. šŸ„¹šŸ„¹šŸ„¹šŸ„¹šŸ„¹

2024.11.29 03:42 Dsg1695 From reading this, how much should I blame myself for being single?

Weā€™re currently in a dating app era & the idea behind dating apps seems practical yet you hear more bad than good things about them. Almost 30 & Iā€™ve never been in a LTR, I have accomplished everything I currently want out of life but been able to find a quality guy. Iā€™ve owned a condo & strive to eventually own a home in a few years, are dating apps to blame behind being single or is there more to it (aka am I the issue)? Iā€™ve been told Iā€™m attractive by all kinds of people for a good chunk of my life but Iā€™ve never been approached in person by a guy Iā€™d like to date (getting checked out doesnā€™t count). The only times guys I find attractive have acknowledged me were on dating apps, itā€™s just thereā€™s times where maybe I feel burnt out & canā€™t be bothered to end up meeting that guy in person.
Or when I feel like I have options/ Iā€™m in a mood where I just donā€™t want to put in the effort. And when the app outlook looks dismal at a given moment (like now), I consider deleting & reinstalling at a later time. I get bored after communicating too long etc, it may seem like self sabotage topped with my terrible anxiety but Iā€™ve never felt SO unsure about something in my life & that something is dating. Unsure if my lack of libido/lack of interest in being sexual might play a part (no health issues). Thereā€™s always that voice in the back of my mind that makes me think the right guy will change all of that but who really knows. Iā€™m worried Iā€™ll be shriveled up & when I finally have that drive, itā€™ll be too late to find a match. I heard an influencer say the other day that there shouldnā€™t be pressure or a rush to date, itā€™s an opportunity thatā€™ll always be available.
TL; DR: Is dating hard for most? And is my case bad luck or someone unsure of what she wants?

2024.11.29 03:42 PimTheGreat Black Friday: The Modern Matrix of Consumption, Manipulation, and Control

Black Friday: The Modern Matrix of Consumption, Manipulation, and Control Every year, Black Friday descends upon the world like a tidal wave of consumerism. Shoppers flood stores and websites in pursuit of ā€œonce-in-a-lifetime deals,ā€ lured by glowing signs and the promise of discounts. But is this frenzy truly about saving money, or is it just another carefully orchestrated ritual by the architects of the matrix?
The truth is, Black Friday isnā€™t about abundanceā€”itā€™s about control. Itā€™s a modern manifestation of what They Live warned us about: consume, obey, repeat. Through manipulation, illusion, and greed, this ritual keeps people financially drained, spiritually empty, and locked into a system that thrives on disparity. And pop culture, from Mad Men to Wall Street, has long revealed the underpinnings of this systemā€”a world driven by greed, manipulation, and power at any cost.
The Origins of Black Friday: A Story of Chaos
The term Black Friday originally described chaosā€”not discounts. Its roots lie in two key events:
  1. The Financial Panic of 1869: Two Wall Street financiers, Jay Gould and James Fisk, manipulated the gold market, causing a collapse that left countless people ruined. This ā€œBlack Fridayā€ was a day of economic devastation.
  2. The Retail Transformation: In the mid-20th century, Philadelphia police used Black Friday to describe the post-Thanksgiving shopping mayhem. The term stuck, and retailers saw an opportunity to rebrand it as a day of profits rather than chaos.
By turning chaos into a ritual, retailers transformed Black Friday into a day where the masses willingly participate in their own financial and emotional exhaustion.
Mad Men, Wall Street, and the Architects of Consumerism
The television series Mad Men provides an intimate look at the advertising industry, a key player in shaping modern consumer behavior. Don Draper, the showā€™s charismatic antihero, embodies the master manipulator, selling people not just products but ideals and emotions. Through ads, the industry convinced society that consumption equals happiness, that buying a new car or product would fill the void within.
Similarly, Oliver Stoneā€™s Wall Street depicts the darker side of capitalism, with Gordon Gekkoā€™s infamous mantra: ā€œGreed is good.ā€ In this world, wealth isnā€™t a means to an endā€”itā€™s an addiction. The film shows how unchecked greed and manipulation ultimately lead to disparity, corruption, and collapse.
Both Mad Men and Wall Street serve as cautionary tales, revealing how those in power use greed as a weapon to manipulate the masses, turning consumerism into a game of winners and losers. And Black Friday is the ultimate battlefield.
The Black Friday Matrix: Consume, Obey, Repeat
John Carpenterā€™s They Live amplifies this idea, portraying a world where hidden subliminal messages direct people to consume, obey, and stay asleep. Advertisements, billboards, and even money carry hidden commands that keep humanity distracted and docile.
Black Friday is the perfect embodiment of this dynamic:
ā€¢ Fictive Discounts: Many ā€œsalesā€ are illusionsā€”prices are inflated before the discounts are applied, giving the appearance of savings.
ā€¢ Dopamine Manipulation: The thrill of snagging a deal creates a temporary high, ensuring that consumers keep coming back for more.
ā€¢ Debt and Despair: Most purchases are made on credit, plunging people further into debt while the architects of the matrix reap the rewards.
The architectsā€”marketers, advertisers, and corporate leadersā€”know exactly what theyā€™re doing. Theyā€™ve studied human behavior and psychology, crafting campaigns designed to extract both your current chi (money) and inner chi (energy).
Inflation and Greed: The Endless Trap
In the economic matrix, inflation is not an accidentā€”itā€™s a feature. The system thrives on rising prices, encouraging people to spend more, borrow more, and work harder just to maintain the same standard of living. As prices climb, the gap between the wealthy and the working class grows, creating a cycle of scarcity and control.
Wall Street captures this perfectly, showing how greed-driven systems inevitably collapse under their own weight. The architects of these systems thrive by exploiting fear, desire, and the human tendency to seek external validation.
But hereā€™s the truth: no purchase will ever fill the void within you. The matrix thrives on keeping you blind to this reality, ensuring that you stay trapped in the cycle of consume, obey, repeat.
What Black Friday Costs Us
Black Friday isnā€™t just about spending moneyā€”itā€™s about losing yourself. The hidden costs are staggering:
  1. Financial Drain: Overspending, often on credit, leaves people with debt that outlasts their purchases.
  2. Emotional Exhaustion: Competing for deals, navigating chaos, and battling FOMO (fear of missing out) create unnecessary stress.
  3. Spiritual Disconnect: The focus on materialism pulls us away from gratitude, purpose, and authentic connection.
This cycle benefits the few at the expense of the many, widening the gap between those who control the system and those who are controlled by it.
Breaking Free: Escape the Matrix
The good news? You can escape the matrix by recognizing it for what it is. True fulfillment doesnā€™t come from external purchases but from inner alignment and authenticity.
Steps to Break Free
  1. Consume Consciously: Ask yourself if you truly need what youā€™re buyingā€”or if youā€™re being sold an illusion.
  2. Focus on Gratitude: Reflect on what you already have. Abundance begins with appreciation.
  3. Invest in Experiences: True wealth lies in memories, growth, and connections, not material goods.
  4. Disconnect from the Noise: Limit exposure to ads, sales, and digital distractions. Reconnect with nature and stillness.
  5. Seek Inner Truth: Remember that all you truly need is already within you. Break free from the idea that happiness can be bought.
The Unmatrix Perspective: From Shadows to Light
Mad Men, Wall Street, and They Live all point to a sobering truth: the system is designed to keep us asleep, distracted by materialism and blinded by greed. But awakening is possible. By stepping back from the frenzy, questioning the narrative, and reconnecting with your inner self, you can reclaim your power.
Black Friday is just another shadow on the wall of Platoā€™s caveā€”a distraction meant to keep you from seeing the light. Unmatrix yourself by stepping away from the stage and asking: What truly matters to me?

2024.11.29 03:42 orangeapple22 29 [M4F] Vancouver Island, Canada - Deep connections/relationship

Kind of shy and still healing from being the new kid all the time in school, but I open up once I feel safe.
About me? I believe in the light, that there's a God or as I call him/her Great Love, and this love has shaped my journey and who I am as a person, who I want to be. I don't see myself as kind, compassionate, or caring, but the heart of Love is extremely sensitive, gentle, and deeply empathetic. Sometimes, by grace, I tune in that love and can share those same feelings of love for others instead of my self-centered tendencies. Becoming loving, day by day.
So that's my faith, but what about my own self?
I truly believe in spending time with my emotions, no matter how threatening, uncomfortable, or dark. I think our triggers and sad thoughts aren't enemies, but instead trying to help us discover truths that will liberate, not oppress us.
And I like sports, light gaming, and space travel šŸ˜šŸ¤ø
Seeking kind souls who want a relationship šŸ’™

2024.11.29 03:42 doesitmatter_no I had a hysterectomy and it's the best thing I ever did for myself

I'm 33, single, no kids with endometriosis. It went undiagnosed for years, but I had an open surgery for ovarian cysts at 15 before I was diagnosed and had a lap at 32 for my first endometriosis removal that provided no relief. MRIs showed that it had grown back to stage 4 after 1.5 years and I decided to make the leap. Even though they ended up finding minimal to no signs of lesions when going in for the surgery, the total hysterectomy changed my life.
Before my surgery, I completely changed as a person. My energy levels were low, I was in constant pain, I developed issues with my sacroiliac joint in addition to endometriosis which caused me to walk with a cane. I was miserable and finding it difficult to keep up with my demanding job.
Since the surgery, I don't cancel plans. I go to dinners, to the park, to the beach and can participate at work in a way I couldn't before. I can do anything I want to do, not just what my body says it needs to do, and it's the most beautiful thing in the world. After years of what felt like torture and living in deep sadness, I'm now overwhelmed by feelings happiness that still evoke tears because when you've lived life in such deep pain with endometriosis, feeling the extreme opposite so quickly can be quite overwhelming. It's like experiencing life again but in a brand new way which makes me so excited for the future for the first time in a long time.
I'm writing this on here cause you see a lot of horror stories, read a lot of bad things that can happen and feel like there might be no answer for you. I'm not suggesting this route is for everyone or will work for everyone, but I'm hoping some can find relief in knowing there was someone out there who had success and sees a brighter future ahead.
I wish the best to anyone out there facing such a difficult decision, but know you're not alone and the possibility of relief can really be possible.
Stay Well xx
