So there's this female doctor at my place of work who's currently doing her residency. I had contacted her once to attend to her patient who had just pulled out his feeding tube from his nostril and it needed to be replaced. She joked about how I'm no longer her friend because I'm giving her work to do. Anyway I didn't think much about it, just thought it was friendly work banter. Later on, she saw the patient and reinserted the feeding tube, she then approached me and and we were talking. She has an accent and a beautiful melanated skin tone so I asked her where she's from and she told me to guess saying I have 2 trials and if I don't get it after 2 attempts, I will buy her food. So I guessed Uganda at first which she rejected so for my 2nd guess I said Kenya, she shook her head. She said I should keep trying and mentioned North East Africa as a clue so I guessed Somalia, Djibouti and Ethiopia and they were all wrong. Anyway she finally told me she's from Sudan and specifically North Sudan. She also said she speaks Arabic. I told her I didn't guess Sudan because I honestly haven't come across any Sudanese in my city and I know a lot of North East Africans are based in Minnesota of which she smiled and agreed with me.
She kept saying I owe her food and I said she should guess where I'm from and she has 2 tries. She mentioned Uganda and Ghana. I told her she was wrong. She then said I should give her one more chance of which she rightfully guessed Nigeria. She was very proud for getting it right but I said she didn't get it within 2 tries so she owes me food which basically means we are both even and no one owes the other anything.
Long story short, I met her yesterday in the elevator while heading home and she kept saying I owe her food, so I jokingly told her to let me know where and when. As she got off her floor, she grabbed my phone from my hands and typed out her phone number. I was surprised but not wanting to make the moment awkward, I immediately called her and hung up after the first ring. Then I followed up with a text message saying I was the person who just called and she replied back "obviously" with a laughing emoji.
What do I do now? I haven't replied her text and I'm not sure how to proceed from here. I know a majority of Sudanese people are Muslims, but there are other religions as well. She doesn't wear a hijab either and I know that's not mandatory. I just feel like the culture is generally very restrictive to non Sudanese let alone a Christian from Nigeria. All this may just be a nice friendly gesture and I'm here reading much into it.

2024.11.30 00:29 shushravens My player pledged himself to Juiblex and I need advice on how to roll with it.
Backstory, so in a one-off session during a loose ghosts of saltmarsh campaign my players were helping a Locathah retrieve a statuette from Sahuagin so a Locathah wedding could take place. Wedding was between two noble fish houses that were in conflict for generations. Statuette was cursed by a scorned lover from years ago that started the feud and the ghost of the scorned lover sacrificed their spirit to summon a demon to kill everyone.
My player: "did the demon come out of a portal?" Me: Sure, yeah, it emerged from a swirling portal (thinking they may want to drive it back into the portal strategically) My player: I jump into the portal. Me: surprised pikachu face
Was not prepared for that, so I try to roll with it. I had been trying to setup Zuggtmoy and Juiblex (my players know no lore) for some post saltmarsh adventures once they are high level, and wanted the opening to use some Out of the Abyss or that Lichen Lich adventure from Candlekeep Adventures if they explore the drowned forest. I had already reskinned Salvage Operation from Lolth to Zuggtmoy. So I had the Ghost call out to Juiblex to initiate the demon summoning. I know now how lore wrong that whole series of events was (first campaign blues). So I told the player they come face to face with a powerful demon that claims to be Juiblex. I tried to make the encounter as cosmic horror as possible, voice in his head (of course the player spoke Abyssal). Really tried to let him know he fucked up. In my mind, the demon lord will scare the player to flee back through the portal. Instead, he says, "oh powerful demon lord, please let me become your loyal servant." (Something to that extent) So I am like, you know what, roll like everything. Queue insane rolls from player. So now he is a cultist of Juiblex.
So, he's been plagued by strange nightmares of a vast endless expanse and Eldritch Horrors. His alignment changed to Chaotic Evil. NPCs comment on a strange odor emanating from him. NPCs react in horror at the mention of his servitude. I did give him the Liquid movement ability mentioned in monsters of multiverse, albeit with the caveat he cant use it in combat. In the last session a polyp formed on him that kept growing until at the end of the session it removed itself and slithered into the walls of their Inn/former haunted house. It'll transform into an Alkilith when I need it to, but not sure what will happen yet. Players are about to begin the Styes in the campaign.
So my questions, besides how bad did I mess up, does this sound ok so far. I'm thinking some combination of the following: -group of holy aligned npcs might try to hunt him down or capture him. -the common folk turn on the adventurers led by some upstart Priest or Cleric or funded by some Noble. -Juiblex commands him to betray the party in some way, maybe not attack them but more like that powerful macguffin they were about to shut down gets instead turned to power up Juiblex. With them about to start the Styes adventure I am wondering if this plot could work with Tharizdun. -wild card option, the demon was not Juiblex and it was some demon trickery, but I might be too far along now to pull that one.
I am open to other suggestions or consequences that could arise from their decision.
All in all, I am not trying to punish the player for this course of action but show the ramifications of it. I try not to force my players any way, and def DM in a mad-lib style where the players fill in the blanks. And the player is really enjoying it, they roleplay more now than they did before and really try to lean into it.
Any advice?

Long story short, my mom (72f) is having what I’d assume is a psychiatric break.
She had a troubled childhood, never sought help and has been in and out of stability my entire life. She is undiagnosed bipolar and went off all meds a year ago.
She was stable until about a week ago. She is abusing alcohol to the point where she can’t even walk and keeps bringing up that no one sent her a birthday gift in September. She will get blackout drunk and say no one loves her and that she’s going to end it. She has threatened suicide in the past but this time seems different. She won’t answer our calls and is convinced we’re all evil and cruel. Previously I knew she wouldn’t commit suicide bc she loved us all but now that she seems to hate us and be mad at us, could this mean she’ll actually go through with it? Not sure whether she’s trying to make us all miserable that we didn’t come home for thanksgiving or if she’ll really hurt herself?
Not sure whether or not to have my dad admit her.
