I've been a passing fan of this series for a while, however recently I've gotten a lot more interested in the series. And while this isn't exactly an original idea to post about the future, I'll sweeten the pot with my own ideas, for reference, I've beaten most of the original 15 mission campaign (fuck the pig's castle), and a good chunk of the Crusader Campaign. Though I've only seen reviews for the later entries. Now without further ado, the systems I would love to see added in my dream stronghold game are:
- A Navy, it's a key part in European warfare and yet it (to my knowledge) hasn't been implemented at all. Having ways to travel through rivers and lakes to fish or flank behind a castle is something that would add loads of depth to both single and multiplayer matches.
- Popularity-based events, while I've gotten glimpses of the newer popularity systems. Something that has surprised me is the lack of an ability to host events which would affect your Fear Factor and Popularity, with their own temporary bonuses and drawbacks. A feast for example could give you loads of popularity, but drain your granary and make your people complacent and less efficient for a while. Or an execution that would freeze popularity for a little while, as the people stay in the castle out of fear rather than out of pleasure.
- Custom Campaigns, while being able to make a mission and maybe string together a loose story between them, there's no way to make your own custom campaign with either a string of set missions or a map similar to the first game, where you and a few other lords would capture each other's territory based on how they did in the missions. Either way I would love to be able to create and share my own storylines with the various commanders.
- Building variations, having one form of Religion or Ale is decently complex, but it's fairly easy to see that in the original game food and fear factor are the best way to gain popularity and in Crusader Ale is the best way to keep going. Having variations to popularity-focussed buildings like using other Religions with different ideals, for example Hinduism would automatically sort peasants into classes, with them being unable to deviate from those classes without hurting popularity. But providing the bonus of more efficient labor on top of the popularity bonus. Stuff like that is what I would envision when imagining the evolution of the formula.
- More elaborate Fear Factor, as a sort of add on to my second point, in my dream Stronghold Sequel I would allow the people to have varying thoughts and feelings, there would be various emotions. But the big ones I would implement would be Willpower, Ambition, and of course, Fear. Willpower would be how much the people are willing to commit to a decision, if a lower class with a high willpower are convinced that you are a great lord, then they will lower popularity slower, and if you manage to get through a rough patch, your popularity will rise faster. However if you do not fix the problem, they will be convinced you are a bad lord for much longer. Ambition would be how radical the people are, so a population with a high ambition might even steal weapons from the armory and revolt, and on the contrary people with a low ambition are less efficient but will take longer to leave. Lastly, fear would work similarly to how it already works, but the more fear factor you have, the slower popularity will shift, as the people are so afraid of you that they aren't willing to leave nor are they willing to get too comfortable.
While I know Firefly is a small studio and most of these are probably implausible to implement, it's fun to daydream, and it gets me curious what ideas you guys have.

I have noticed that the tonics are giving the wrong weapons.
So after 2 days of testing, I am confident in saying that I was correct but would still like the community to help prove it.
So TL;DR, all the tonics are giving the weapons off set to the right side of their icons.
Noxious Vetiver tonic gives Exuviae
Exuviae tonic gives Scavenger's Fate
Scavenger's Fate tonic gives BitteSweet
BitteSweet tonic gives Noxious Vetiver
Please help confirm I my findings are correct or if I am just carzy.

I am having issues getting covenants unlocked on alts. I tried hitting the skip campaign option with Bolvar in Org/SW, but when it sends me to Oribos there aren't any quests available and nothing to unlock a starting covenant. Looking to capitalize on all the free anima from Panda remix characters.

This is gonna sound cruel so just lay it on me if you have too idc. I 21M hooked up with this girl 19F I met on bumble a while ago. We slept together a few times, and hung out a bit. She’s a nice girl and all I just don’t want to date her, never did. Wanted like a 1-3 time thing and then no more, I’m not sure I told her that tho. I’m the fucking drummer, I’m not just the drummer. I’m a musically educated musician who understands a whole lot more than just hitting things with sticks. I make musical decisions based on the arrangement and pay more attention to the song structure than anyone realizes. And yet, the songwriter keep giving me notes as though he’s the final word, but the moment I offer input I get shut down as though my opinion doesn’t count. I’m a goddamned musician, same as those six-stringers. At what point to do I speak up and say, hey, you want me to be a member of this band or just the drummer?
I’ve learned a lot from Ringo: watching him sit back and observe during those Get Back sessions. But at what point do I say, hey, dammit, nobody gives a shit what I have to say so stay the fuck out of my rice bowl?
Damned good band, damned good musicians, so I don’t want to up and quit. Thoughts?

2024.11.30 03:30 Finniccle The loose ends...
The Inanimate Insanity Finale was absolutely fantastic. I think it was the perfect ending to this amazing series. However one thing that left me thinking at the end was the loose ends that seemed to be presented right near the end of this episode. Stuff such as fan saying "Oh this is gonna be a whole thing isn't it?" or what the Prime Shimmers made at the end. Stuff like this is still such a mystery, not to mention mysteries that were brought up right at the very end of the show. So what I'm thinking is, what if they make a mini series or even just a few shorts to tie up the loose ends. I think it would be super cool, I don't see why they would bring up these things right at the very end just to not answer them if they weren't gonna do this... idk what do ya'll think?

I failed my boards and I honestly don't care it doesn't change the way I see me. But I am SOO ashamed. It's the social aspect of being judged. My therapist is one of the only people who really see me and I'm worried she won't see me no longer as a hard working intellectual. Like I'm fake. My family has made huge sacrifice for me because I'm studious and I failed. It stings when I hear them talk about. I'm strongly attached to my therapist and she is very expressive and I dread she will cringe like my mother. :( Be honest have how you viewed someone changed after a failure? I have no one to turn to, I dont want to dissapoint my therapist. Words?
