 | Hi guys I had a question about handling. I got my snake about 2 weeks ago and she’s eaten twice since getting her. I was wondering if anyone had tips about handling and to get her to trust me. I haven’t tried handling her yet but I noticed she’s been coming out more often and seems more comfortable in her enclosure. How often should I try handling her and how long should I handle her for at a time? I don’t want to stress her out by digging her up when I want to handle her but I also don’t want to only handle her when she’s out so she associates being out with being picked up. 2024.12.01 04:59 blue_eyed_pitty Are my teeth in as bad of shape as I think they are?
 | My main concerns are just sensitivity to cold foods/drinks and the little lines of discoloration in my bottom teeth in the front. I have vaped for 7 years and I drink maybe once a month, but at one point drank heavily. I played rugby for 6 years almost year round and used cheap mouth guards and I’m worried that damaged my teeth. That’s why my teeth are chipped in the front. I haven’t taken the best care of my teeth. I don’t floss regularly, but am getting in the habit of doing it. I use a Philips Sonicare toothbrush. I last saw a dentist a little over a year ago. The tooth that’s missing and the exact opposite were/are baby teeth. I don’t have adult teeth there. I’m scared to go because I know they’re going to know I haven’t taken the best care of my teeth and judge me/im really scared that I’m going to need work done on some of my teeth. 2024.12.01 04:59 Bellaboo471 How bad does taking a gap semester look on an application?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently a student at the University of Michigan, and I have got to get out of here. I have been planning on transferring to a school with a journalism program for a while, but I don't know if I can stick it out at Umich for another semester. I'm applying to a bunch of schools with journalism majors, as Umich doesn't offer one, and the majority of the schools I'm interested in don't have transfer apps open except for fall of 2025.
Transferring in the fall of 2025 was what I originally planned on; I wanted to finish out my sophomore year at Umich. But, I had a pretty severe mental health crisis and went home for two weeks -- I'm heading back to finish exams and the semester.
All of this to say I don't want to go back. I don't know if I have the strength to. It makes me jittery and anxious and I'd rather do literally anything else. I'm thinking about going home and working on the local paper or trying to find a newsroom internship for the winter-summer season. I don't know if this looks bad on a transcript or application, but I really do not want to go back.
Please let me know if you have any words of advice. I don't know what I'm doing here.

I’m looking to study a degree that has an interview requirement (not medicine), and I don’t exactly understand how it works with vtac. I’m wondering if it has to be my number 1 preference in order to be offered an interview, because i don’t really want to get an interview, not get it, and then have to rely on second round offers to get into a different course (if possible). It’s a pretty competitive degree so i’m wondering if it needs to be number 1 preference for me to even be considered for an interview or not?
Help! Also yes, I should just contact the uni but it’s sunday and i want reddit’s help! i’ve been on all the websites and stuff and i can’t find anything about how interview offers work outside like med and stuff 😔😔😔

A while ago, someone suggested that we should have the ability to not show our coins, is this a feature that we can turn on or off? I noticed a few accounts where the coin thingy just had a question mark where the balance goes. I asked my friend who just emptied his coins for a song and he said he sees zero on his, when I looked at his profile I saw zero as well. Is this a feature that’s only for higher up accounts? I’m at 5.7 K right now on the overall leaderboard.

I'm in Pennsylvania. I've suffered a hernia in the groin area and it's quite large. I'm about to be on workman's comp. And the surgery I'll have coming up in the next couple weeks I'm thinking. My question is even if I get the surgery paid for and receive workman's comp. Should I talk to a lawyer about a settlement for the injury?

2024.12.01 04:59 Mental_Sea_4946 A bit of my experience watching Lost for the first time.
Recently, I started watching Lost. I had never seen the series before, but I remember hearing a lot of good things about it when I was a kid. The only things I knew were the theories people used to talk about at the time. Before starting the show, I recalled a few of those theories. One was about the characters being dead and the island being a kind of purgatory. Another one I clearly remember was about them traveling through time. That’s all I knew about the series, and it’s been really enjoyable to watch with those theories in mind.
I’m on episode 4 of season 4 now, and I’m loving the show, but I have some points I’d like to comment on. One of them is how long the series takes to reveal the mysteries it introduces. Lost keeps viewers with countless unanswered questions, and every episode just adds more and more questions while the answers don’t come. This has honestly been discouraging me from continuing to watch, even though I’m really enjoying it. As a viewer, I feel kind of foolish; it makes me want to grab my phone and look up all the spoilers for the show sometimes. I’d like to know (without spoilers): do many of these questions eventually get answered or not?
Another point I wanted to mention is about the character Danielle, the French woman. Of all the significant characters shown in the series, she’s the only one we haven’t seen any flashbacks of (at least up to the beginning of season 4). I found that pretty strange since she’s a very relevant character in the story. Have you guys noticed that?
P.S. I finished season 4 and I’m almost halfway through season 5 now. For me, season 4 has been the “worst” so far. It’s not bad at all, but there are some story elements I didn’t like, such as the introduction of new characters and the plot itself. What I enjoyed the most about the season was the deeper focus on time travel and its implications.
As for season 5, I’m loving it. From the very first episode, I felt like this season was going to be amazing. The time travel aspects are being developed really well, and the series has stopped creating so many unanswered questions.
Regarding the Frenchwoman, I loved seeing that the writers didn’t completely forget about her and actually showed a bit of her past. That was absolutely spectacular.

A little over a year ago I tripped with some “friends”. I was deep in active addiction and we were doing acid pretty regularly at that point. This time was different. There had been some drama in the friend group but I thought it had been resolved. Apparently not. They all viciously turned on me, insulted me, threatened to hurt and stab me, made fun of my autism, etc. I froze and just sat there and took it. It was awful and fucked with my psyche in a way I can’t describe.
I’m clean now, so I guess that’s good. And I never spoke to those people again. I know it’s my fault for abusing any kind of substance when I’m on the spectrum, I have no excuse for that. But damn, it messed me up. I barely leave the house, and when I do I almost hyperventilate walking out the door. Being around people horrifies me, even the people close to me, like my family and sometimes even my boyfriend. I feel like I have no personality and can’t carry a conversation anymore because I’m always just terrified and in a mode of fight or flight. I’m terrified of everyone. I feel everyone’s going to betray me the way they did.
I just needed to voice this somewhere. I’ll probably end up deleting it. I’ve never told anyone, not even my therapist, but it lives rent free in my head every day. I hate my life, I hate those people, I hate myself and what I’ve become. I’d give anything to take it all back. Please, please be careful with substances when you have a mental illness. The high is not worth the consequences.
