My Brother had a bad drug addiction. He’d taken everything, from DMT, Cocaine, Marijuana, Heroin, and Meth. How his abused body managed to trudge through it all was beyond me.
Then, one day, he stopped.
Curious, I asked why.
“Fermented finger nails man. That’ll do it.”
I cocked an eyebrow. “Fermented fingernails? Where the hell did you find that?”
He shrugged dismissively. “I read it on a forum. Apparently some Entity appears and slaps you across the face, chiding you over the error of your ways. I wanted to sober myself up, so thought I’d give it a crack.”
“Did you use your own nails?” I asked, my stomach churning at the thought.
“Obviously! The Entity can only appear if you allow that which grew out of your affected body to ferment. Bro, it fixes anything. Whatever issue you have, it’ll make you straight again, I promise.”
Month’s passed. I always thought of my sober brother and his bizarre remedy every night when I sat at the slot machine in my local pub. If fermented fingernails had helped him give up the drugs, I wondered if it would be able to help me break my gambling addiction.
I was on my last straw. My account was nearly drained and my Wife was on the verge of leaving me.
I allowed my fingernails to grow out longer than usual. When I eventually clipped them, instead of chucking them straight in the bin, I stored them in a glass jar. I added my toe nails for good measure. Looking up how to ferment, I learned that you needed to add salt at a 3.5% ratio of the combined weight of water and food to be fermented.
I sealed the jar, and placed it in a dark cupboard where I left it to ferment for two weeks.
When it was ready, I eagerly opened the lid. My nose scrunched and I suppressed the urge to puke when the smell hit me.
Wanting to get it over with quickly, I scooped all the nails out and shoved them in my mouth. Fighting my urge to gag, I gulped a mouthful of water and swallowed the nails whole, the definition of a “Bitter Pill”.
The moment they splashed in my stomach, everything around me went white.
My body went stiff as an immense light encapsulated me.
A robed Entity appeared. It had a pale face, eyes like endless voids and no mouth or nose. I was torn between it being an Alien or some sort of divine creature. Either way, It’s appearance chilled me. Had I not been paralyzed, I would have shuddered.
It stared at me, accusation in it's gaze.
Then, it slapped me hard across the face.
It’s voice boomed inside my head, “Of all the wonders that God has placed in the world for you to discover, why the fuck would you ferment your own finger nails? YUCK! Get your shit together!”
Reality suddenly returned, and I never gambled again.

Today was my mom’s birthday. Just five/six days before she had suffered a heart attack and cardiac arrest. We had to spend her birthday in an icu, where she is in a coma. While she’s slowly fading. Heart rate dropping, fevers, brain damage. Less movements. It’s hard to see her like this as it was very unexpected and how we could’ve saved her but she had been stuck in a locked car with the keys and couldn’t break the windows. Me and my mom and sister(who’s 18) were always close even if me and my sister were the youngest of the family. My mom has five kids including me and my oldeyoung sister. We always went driving around at night and laugh and talk, go to movies, sleep together for comfort when sad, always watched videos and always been with each other 24/7. I’m only 17, and I have family here to comfort me but I’m trying not to lose hope for my mom. I want her to get better to come back home to our family. I’m too the point where I’m seeking comfort in strangers, just to have someone reach out to me. Anyone, I don’t know why, I have it with my family but it’s different.

My_qualifications are:12th completed. I am 21 and looking to go abroad for bachlors,recently I discovered that Usa and a few other western countries are in need of nurses.
I would also like to point out that fact that before I knew this,I was looking for culinery and photography courses which I was interested in as they are some of my interests with graphic design being included as well.
My main goal was Canada,however the current conditions have not brought the most positive feedback from students that are going there,however as I said, nursing is a low end medical job,that not only pays well,but is also included in stem categories,which will make job opportunities and financial stability to pay off the loan somewhat easier.
If the case of requirement of nurses is the same for Canada,I would then consider Canada as my course would be valuable enough to survive in current condition.
However,I am confused,most people are negative in this sub and very few are willing to share advice,I would really appreciate If you guys can help me figure out,which course should I select out of the 3 I mentioned below and what country should I choose for it.
If there are any other course recommendations,I am open to hear it,as for my 3 year gap,I worked a job here for a year and have diploma in cooking,which I am sure is not very valuable,but I can cook for myself and am good at it,honestly I enjoy it.
Also,I have some cash,if you guys can breakdown the cost of an average college fee and IELTS,along with loan processing amount,I would be glad to hear it,I know I can research that on my own and I have,it's just that I would to know the sum of total from someone who went abroad for a similar course.

good morning/afternoon/day/night to everyone.
I am wanting to undertake a personal project but I am unsure what skills I might need to develop to be able to achieve it.
A brief summary of my project is that I want to make my own "situational awareness system". I was thinking of a scrapper AI to look over set sources that I give it (news websites and articles), I want it to then extrapolate location, date and time, what the instance is (bush fire, crime, floods, terrorist activity, etc), and if say natural disaster then how much land is affected in km2. I then want this scrapped and catalogued data to be input into a GUI where there is an interactive map. This map will show a symbol dependant on the type of instance it represents on the location from the article, and if you click it, it opens a data set that shows a sort of table with all the relevant information and at the bottom a link to the article associated with it. Once the article hits a set age, this indicator disappears as not to keep old incidents open.
I feel like this will be a huge undertaking for me as most of my coding is self taught and I rely on forums and assistance quite a bit for the parts I don't understand.
I am hoping people can assist me in knowing what sort of skills I am going to be needing to use, what ways of going about all this would be best (and free if possible), and maybe even some pre-existing works that are similar in nature that I could possibly look at and learn from.
