So this is a complicated and very incredibly stupid story but I recently moved into an AirBNB temporarily. As the title says, I am trying to drain the coolant from a 2014 VW Jetta with the intention of flushing it and cleaning out the reservoir which is in horrible condition. However, this car doesn't have a drain plug and the only option I can see is to remove the lower radiator hose. In this car, there are two almost identical hoses attached to both sides of the radiator underneath. Would I be correct in assuming they are both "lower radiator hoses" or does one serve a different purpose? I removed both hoses (separately) but absolutely nothing came out. I'm not sure what I did wrong and this is probably just because I'm new to this and made a dumb mistake. Would I need to turn the engine on after disconnecting it in order for the coolant to start attempting to circulate? Thanks
