Is it possible to find a balance between making your ideas happen and living a life without giving things up? Things like going out with friends, traveling, taking breaks, and stuff like that? Iāve been trying to answer this question since I was a kid (and Iām serious when I say that), back when I didnāt even know what the word āfounderā meant, and becoming one wasnāt even part of my plans.
As a kid, I played soccer, and like every boy my age, I watched all the stars on TV, got hyped, and told myself one day Iād be one of them. Thereād be fans cheering for me, Iād score hundreds of goals, and all that bullshit. I was daydreaming.
The reality is I had to sacrifice a lot. Iād wake up at 6:00 AM, take the bus, and be at school by 8:00 AM. After classes, Iād finish at 1:00 PM, have lunch until 2:00 PM (always bringing a lunch box with me), and then wander around the city until 5:00 PM (sun, rain, snow, it didnāt matter). Then Iād train from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, catch the bus home by 9:00 PM, and I was so tired I barely had the energy to eat dinner.
That was my life, day after day. And I promise you, for a 13/14 year old kid to keep up with that lifestyle, it takes more mental strength than physical strength. Then, after some things didnāt go as I planned, I realized maybe that wasnāt my path. It felt like when a girl breaks your heart (sounds weird, but for me, it was really like losing a love). But I also realized that soccer was pulling me away from so many other things. Once I quit, I got into skateboarding, computers, built a group of friends, traveled, and did so many things I hadnāt experienced before. Thatās when I realized I had given up a lot for my dream, maybe without even noticing.
So, if youāve read this far, youāre probably wondering, āYeah, but what does this have to do with this subreddit, and what the hell is the āfounder glitchā?ā Let me explain. Between the end of 2023 and the start of 2024, I was already coding, but I hadnāt built anything serious, at least no personal project that kept me glued to the PC for more than a week. But with a thousand ideas in my head, one random day I thought, why not make some of them real? Thatās how I started building my first SaaS projects, Describify and postonreddit. Long story short, it was way harder than I expected. It took much more time, and I had both illusions and disappointments, as I mentioned in one of my recent posts. But thatās not the point. I was used to sacrifice, and it didnāt scare me.
Iām proud of what Iāve built, the journey Iāve taken to bring my ideas to life, and everything Iāve learned and will continue learning through this whole process. The problem is, I think Iāve fallen back into the same loop I had when I played soccer. What I call the āfounder glitch,ā which basically means sacrificing things to achieve your goal or dream.
Just like back then, Iām giving up a lot to make my ideas happen. Even right now as Iām writing this, Iām giving things up. And to be clear, Iām not saying itās wrong, itās a choice Iām making knowingly. But hereās my doubt: is there a way to find balance and break out of this state? I still donāt know how to answer that. I live every day like a roller coaster. But if you, reading this, donāt think everything I wrote is complete bullshit, let me know if youāve found a way to beat this problem.

I just installed a classic game - Godfather (2005) - but had a major issue.
When the game starts, the sound plays, but the screen is just black.
Apparnetly, it's an issue with the cinematics.
The fix is very easy: go to where the game is installed and change the folder "movies" to "_movies" and it's all good.

I'm sick of opening the store and seeing yet another Outbreak, dinobreak, shitbreak bundle.
There is so many asset flip, low effort games on the market, it drowns actually good games and ruins the market experience. We need some actual quality control and consumers need to stop buying these games or else you're part of the problem. Please don't buy these games.
It's an insult to good devs trying to sell their games and it lowers the chances of you finding a game you actually want significantly.

Hi so Iām using a throwaway account in case he might see this. So Iāve been with my boyfriend for about a year now and heās the sweetest guy ever,heās kind,funny,intelligent and super into science. But he has one flaw(?) that really keeps bugging me. Heās really into my bones. Like literal actual skeletal bonesš at first I thought it was a quirky interest because he studied anatomy in collage and has always been fascinated by how human body works. I figured it was a part of who he is and I liked that he was so passionate about something. But again the ācomplimentsā freak me tf out. Instead of something like āyou have beautiful eyesā heāll compliment my rib spacing,wrist bones,ankles,spine,hip bones,zygomatic bones,vomer and the list goes on. He doesnāt say it in a sexual way but Even during intimacy he likes to grab and rub my bones instead of idk like my ducking boobs?? That are literally right there?? A week ago I found his old sketchbook and it was really sweet because they were all sketches of me but my face was not detailed,it was drawn plainly but my bones were highlighted and overly detailed. I donāt mean to judge and yes itās so sweet that he draws me Itās weirding me out. And when we were watching a documentary about forensic anthropology(his sugggestion) he casually mentioned how bones can tell so much about a person and how amazing it is that they last so long after everything decays and when I die heād love to keep my bones instead of having a traditional burial or cremation. I tried talking to him about it but he keeps dodging the question and the topic,like not even acknowledging it and itās sooooooo frustrating. Idk Iām just confused. Sorry for any grammar mistakes English is my third language. Any advice is appreciated
