2025.01.18 23:58 Right_Requirement_65 My 2018 Prius Hybrid engine got a hole after replacing head gasket
Hello, I have 2018 Toyota Prius Hybrid with 1.8 liter four-cylinder engine. I know nothing about car. Want your opinion if broken engine is related to replacing head gasket job.
In 2022, my car started white smoke from exhaust and AC didn't work. Coolant was leaking somewhere. Got serviced and fixed pronlem at Toyota and they said replaced front exhaust pipe assembly & heat exchanger on the report.
In 2024 December, car showed same symptoms; white smoke from exhaust, no heat, coolant leak. Went to this mechanic and replaced head gasket with $4700. They said there will be residual coolant in the system (there was lots of coolant in the engine) so drive around for maybe a week to let it out. It exhausted a lot of white smoke that everyone driving around me would worry about me. But white smoke got less gradually. I got a engine sign lit on on dashboard after 4 days and went to see mechanic. Somehow they fixed the engine sign light in few seconds and said just a minor error. I got the engine light back on the same day and went to see mechanic again next day.
However, on the way to the mechanic on uphill, my car suddenly started smoking from bonnet and AC and making metal sound. Engine oil was leaking on the bottom. Called towing car and towed to the mechanic and they showed me a hole on the bottom of the engine where the oil was leaking. They are saying it has nothing to do with their work. Asking replacing the engine with used one with $7500. So $4700 fot replacing head gasket was totally meaningless.
It was running alright before the incident. My car is only 6 years old and just finished paying off mortgage. Paying $4700 + 7500 is too much for me. Do you think it has nothing to do with mechanics jobs? Or even Toyota who did the job and same symptom occurred after two years?

Yo whats good everyone,
Quick question... at what point does the 2K community officially slap the "Oldhead" title on u? Like, is it about ur age, how long u been playing, or just ur playstyle? (Y’all know the vibes... posting up all game, setting 100 screens, or running a glass-cleaning big like it’s 2K19).
I been playing 2K since I was 17, and back then I used to COOK Oldheads for fun. Like, it was a sport to me. I’d see the knee-sleeve-and-rebirth-build combo and just KNOW it’s free wins. But now? Bruh, every year I feel like I’m turning into the same dudes I used to clown. I’m 22 now, and the other day some kid called me an Oldhead cuz I wasn’t spamming dribble moves for 23 seconds straight. Like... what???
So I gotta ask, am I already washed?? Or is there a specific age where we all just get drafted into the Oldhead Hall of Fame? Lmk, especially if u been through this midlife crisis too.

I was using Tumbajamba armor collections for Minutemen, Gunners and BOS. I want more minutemen to protect my provisioners and I want to power up the minutemen more so I was going to go back to Liberty Reborn-ultimate edition. my system is 7800x3d CPU + rtx 4080 Super GPU, 32gb ram. have played About 500 Hours before, roughly 80% operations 20% warfare, without any of These "Bugs" - todays update brought all of them. has anyone else encountered these and probably come up with a "fix" so it's not a developer fuckup after all?
- desync has never been worse. it was pretty ok until yesterday but now it's as bad as day one.
- very high input lag despite having constant 280fps (recompile shaders did not help)
- the fuckup with "balancing" across the board is horrendous. vyron cant even take down a LAV now.
- tank/armor shields now sporadicly block vyron magnetic bombs from even sticking cause they disappear instantly
- the driving behaviour of vehicles is now a wobbly bad joke on slightly rocky terrain. cant even drive a quad downhill on ascension without a salto and various uncontrollable 180s
- bound "only prone" to X and only dive to Y, always have to press only prone two or 3 times while walking/running to actually go prone
- every other game, opening ingame map forces high zoom-in on player position. on this occasions its useless & taking too much time always to zoom out
- score streak selection wheel is permanently bugged and Always tries to force Vehicle drop select
- shop always prompts new mandelbrick bundle although already checked!

- frequently cant equip gear ticket cause "stash is full" - this Always worked before update
- when browsing name cards, a popup with Season rewards appears Always which cant be claimed cause "there are no rewards"

i did a schizoid PD test on idrlabs and i got 91.25%. i also fit almost all symptoms (except low desire for sex and romantic relationships, there was a span of like 3 days back in november where i had absolutely no interest in sexual/romantic relationships/interactions), and i do feel sad when someone critisizes me, but not sad/mad enough to argue against or insult them back for it
i can give more info but didn’t wanna make it too long lol
