Personally, I’m very selective when it comes to fragrances and currently have around 30 bottles, which I already considered a lot. However, after joining this subreddit, I’ve seen posts from users with collections of 200 or even 300 bottles, and it made me wonder—what’s the point of having so many?
Is it a hobby? Is it a form of collecting? Or perhaps even an addiction?
Realistically, if someone owns 300 bottles, are they wearing a different fragrance every day? Does that mean each one gets used only once a year? Or do they end up sticking to their favorite few while the rest of the collection is largely neglected?
I’m genuinely curious and trying to understand the reasoning behind such large collections. For those of you with extensive collections, what drives you to keep growing it? Is it about variety, exploration, or something else entirely?

So my introduction to Agatha Christie started when I read "And Then There Were None". Didn't take me long to finish it and I was hooked. I was familiar with Poirot and wanted to read his stories so what better to start than at the beginning. So I read "Styles" and again I enjoyed it. I found out that Christie wrote a lot. Not just Poirot, though he has a lot too. But she wrote a lot of other books. I thought why not just read all of Poirot, and that's what I started to do. I picked up a couple of Poirot books and the 50+ Short Stories book and found a chronological list online of Poirot and started there. Until recently I guess i felt "bored" with Poirot. He's kinda pretentious and don't get me started with Hastings 🙄 Just one word for Hastings, moron. I guess he's all right tho, just gets under my skin sometimes. ANYWAY, until recently I've grown "bored" of Poirot and decided why not just read Agatha Christie's works from start to finish? I'm going to do just that. The last Poirot book I read was "The Big Four". Today I finished "The Secret Adversary" which I enjoyed. Up next is "The Man In The Brown Suit". I'm excited.

Started taking 50 mg (which I’m reading may be too much) of zinc 2 days ago and out of no where I started getting post nasal drip/sore throat, dry mouth and I have been glued to the toilet. very different symptoms lol. Could be a result of too much zinc but thoughts on die off?

2025.01.19 03:02 Tricky-Appearance-43 Feeling really hopeless that I will ever get approved for an NYC apartment

This is really frustrating. I moved to NYC from another state (I'm born and raised in the NY suburbs but moved for one year for work) and am staying in an airbnb for a month while I look at apartments.
I have applied to 5 apartments so far and was rejected by all of them. I freelance and do not make the 40x rent, but close, and I have a guarantor who makes the 80x. In the southern state I lived in for the past year, my rent was $1800 and I had no trouble affording it, and I wasn't asked to provide an arm and a leg to qualify for that apartment either. My budget in NY is only a few hundred dollars more. I have $20,000 saved. I'm just really not sure what I'm supposed to do. It feels like NYC is designed only for people with rich parents who can cosign. My cosigner is my cousin and I think he's getting a little annoyed with having to constantly fill out applications and I'm afraid he's going to back out.
Anyway, just venting. Any advice or commiseration is appreciated!
