I hope everyone can agree how unfair it is that society expects women to go and serve her husband's parents while leaving her parents alone.
How would you feel if I asked you to leave your parents all alone and come spend all your time to take care of my parents only.
Men, would you happily marry a girl who completely wants to serve and take care of your parents, on the condition that you show the same courtesy to her.
By taking care I mean the following :
1) in today's world where both partners earn, both extend financial support to both sets of parents
2) since financial burden is distributed equally, so should household burden ( cooking, cleaning, etc )
3) Emotional ( THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ) - assuming that both the houses are nearby in the same city ( this should be taken care of when selecting your partner ), spending equal time with both families ( for example 2 weeks of month with one family, 2 weeks with another ) to sit and talk and enjoy with the parents so they don't feel lonely, and cooking them happy meals and just spending happy family time.
Basically would you marry a girl who wants to completely love and care for your parents, if you do the same for her's.
Because the current setup expects all of this from the girl, but doesn't return any favor back, which is extremely unfair I hope you will agree.

So it has already been more than a year with my girlfriend. She is all I could ever ask for and an absolutely amazing person. She is caring and overall just really understanding, which is what you could say I was looking for in someone. But now, I feel like I cheat her a lot. I have a very bad addiction to corn (if you know what I am saying). And I have come clean to her and told her a lot when I relapsed but nowadays, I keep watching it even more. I keep telling her about how much I care for her and that I would stop and change for her, but nothing ever changes. I want to stop but I do not know where to start. On top of that, I feel so chronically online, and that is an issue for me cause I’m losing my focus on my academics (I am below 18, still in school). In my mind I blame her for this but when I speak to her, she is understanding. I know we never get time to talk but I don’t think I was ever ready for a relationship in the first place. I never give her time because I spend my time doing bullshit like watching videos on YouTube or watching corn. I’ve honestly felt so lost in life too. I feel like with everything I do, I am cheating her so much. She really loves me and cares for me, but I want to be something to myself more than to her. I know this does not really sound like a post about her, but the thing is, I just feel all of this affects me, and in turn affecting her cause she does not get anything from me. I have so much shit to improve on and I am trying to make sure I do not get addicted to corn anymore or keep watching YouTube. I feel with every step, I am lying more and more to her. It sounds more like an issue with me. But I still do not know how I could fall so far. I want to improve for her, but my only question right now is, why can’t I improve?

I have learned that I do not watch this show nearly as in-depth as most of you but there is one thing that I found really interesting.
When the video starts they are all sort of confused but quickly become somewhat emerged in it. The gist of the video is that Lumon is making changes by providing more freedom, at least in some sense.
Quickly, this changes and the characters begin to become invested. Irv even chuckles at the video but then is immediately embarrassed because they play his own voice against him saying “burn it to the ground.” This also comes with a funny claymation poking at Irv. It’s almost as if it picks at Irvs commitment to Lumon for which he is well known for. At least the innie version.
Dylan had the same thing with the new perks of candies. He loves perks. He excels at this job for them essentially. But he’s overweight and the video shows him slamming the candies down his throat. You can see him sort of come embarrassed and look around.
Mark and Helly are a little tricky. It shows their kiss and they are, at least in some way, embarrassed. Neither of them appear to really look up when their coworkers look around. *Now this does create a 50/50 in the Helly or Helena debate. She could be embarrassed for the same reasons as Mark or because her status and the development of feeling with Mark.
On top of all of this, there is the double worded play by Milchick saying there’s no cameras or microphones but the room being covered by sayings that Lumon is listening. Even a theme in the video. As well as their own voices being used in the video.
Milchick leaves the decision up to them but it’s after they’ve already had their pride hurt and a loss of moral. They’ve had their egos checked by Lumon in what one could assume is to take any desire to leave away. Lumon is your home. You’re not as influential as you think you are. Just do what you do best and fall back in line and you’ll be rewarded.
Lastly, the immediate snooping vibe that Helena puts off following the video continues to play into the Lumon is listening / but there’s no microphones or cameras conundrum.
Idk. Maybe it’s too much. Maybe it’s too little.
