I've been trying to find like-minded people and share hobbies through various Discord servers, but it feels like a complete waste of time. The latest server I joined was meant for meeting new penpals, which sounded awesome in theory. But in practice? It’s like shouting into the void.
People just post their stuff without even acknowledging others. No one responds to my posts, and when I try to engage—whether by replying in the channels or DMing someone—I get ghosted. Why join a forum for meeting new people if you’re not actually going to interact?
In the best case, I see 2-3 people regularly chatting in a channel of hundreds, but even they usually ignore everyone else. It’s frustrating. Am I the only one who feels like Discord (and social media in general) is becoming less and less social? Is this just how it is now, or am I getting old?
Would love to know if anyone else has had similar experiences. Or, if you've found a server that actually feels like a community, let me know!

Hi there. I need to connect to an older WiFi router, but i don't know its currently configured IP address. I know the admin password, so as soon as I have its IP addresss I can reconfigure my laptop's lan card to match this IP range, then log in and reconfigure the router to be in my current, desired network. I want to avoid a factory reset since the router has a connection password configured which I need to retrieve first.
The router does not provide DHCP, so I can't just connect to it and see the IP address of it as a gateway. A simple arp -a will not suffice since I'm not on its configured IP network. However, I know the router's MAC address (it's printed on the bottom).
Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem?
