We have a beautiful copper beech tree on our front drive of our new house. When we first went to view the house, we knew that one day we’d likely have to remove it as it was starting to lift the concrete on the drive. Since we have moved in, we’ve noticed more cracking on the drive. Do you think the tree is too close to our home? And are the roots likely to have already reached our home? Is there a way of keeping the tree without chopping it down? I have a picture for reference. Thank you!

Mario Kart 8 on Switch was a port of a Wii U game. We never saw what the Switch 1 could accomplish for Mario Kart. Now we have seen it.
I'm disappointed. This is no Switch 2 level upgrade imo.
I think I'm out.
Hope Nintendo comes to their senses and releases an RTX 5060 based home console for $300-$400 instead.

2025.01.19 10:41 PanHyridae One of my servers can't use soundboards, while one can. Any clue why?

One of my members in my comminity enabled discord of about 200+ told me that they cannot use soundboards, however their role gives them permission to. I checked all of my roles in the server and just in case, I gave EVERY role the ability to use Soundboards. However when I test it by using the View As Role button, the soundboard button goes away. Every single role in the discord has the permission, however none can use it. To test a theory, I checked my personal server and the main role there is the only role that allows soundboards, and that works perfectly when testing as said role in my second server. Why is it that one server is able to have soundboards working, but the other does not? And the one that does not, any way to fix this? Every single role in said discord allows for the soundboards to be used, but they never show.

Hi there!
As stated in the title, i want to reinforce my 1500 Point Army.
I followed the "Rule of Cool" and bought Stuff I liked and tried to create a fun army. I play exclusively with friends (Sororitas, Imperial Guard, Necrons).
My current 1500 Build (Gladius):
  • Squad 1 (1st Objective): Uriel Ventris + Company Heroes =190 Points
  • Squad 2 (Sticky Objective Home, then Fire Support): 1 Lieutnant with Fire Discipline+ 10x Intercessors=265 Points
  • Squad 3 (Deep Strike/ Attack Squad): 1x Librarian in Terminator Armour + 5 x Terminators (Storm Bolters + Assault Cannon)= 245 Points
  • Squad 4 (Deep Strike from Ventris/Fire Support): Lieutnant Titus + 10 x Hellblasters = 300 Points
  • Heavy Support: 1x Ballistus; 1x Redemptor, 1x Brutalis =500 Points
Now I am looking to expand to 2000 Points.
I don´t want to create a "Gotcha!" Army!
I just wanna expand my current list and continue to have fun at a great game, maybe join my first tournament this year.
As a uni-student, funds are quite rare.
So I stick to the rules:
  1. Max. one Box a month.
  2. No new models until everything is painted.
This of course means, that the 2000 Points will take some time to reach. So ideally, new models are able to "integrate" in a changed 1500 Points List, to try them out until the 2000 Point List is finished.
This leads to my Question: What models should I buy?
My Ideas include:
-a Whirlwind for Home Objective?
-Calgar or Chaplain + Bladeguard to have something in close combat?
-Roboute Guilliman?
-Eliminators?
-Land Raider?

Hi, I would like unbiased recommendations surrounding notetaking. I will be attending uni (electrical engineering, 4 years) soon and wanted to switch from physical handwritten notes to digitally taking notes. I have no relevant experience with tablets/iPads/Surfaces.
Current devices: - Decent windows PC: enough for anything that an engineering degree would require. - 2017 MacBook air: used throughout highschool and uh its showing signs of age, wanted to upgrade to an M1 or m2, but don't see the need for it at the moment since I have my pc.
My usecases for tablet (in order of priority): 1. Notetaking + Annotations (such as pdfs, slides, mainly lecturer materials), solving problems (like math). 2. Watching videos, whether this be YouTube or recorded lectures (and maybe some cheeky Netflix)
I have considered eink; and it's not for me.
I was mainly considering iPads/Tablets, but I thought I would ask in this sub as well as I might be missing smth or reading too much apple bias info.
I want recs on Surfaces or other MSFT products (idk what other products suit me) but also want neutral info on Surface vs iPads/Tablets, in terms of durability, longevity etc... Although most the info I have read seems to be apple bias.
TLDR: electrical engineering 4 years @ uni. no to eink. notetaking + annotating + math + watching vids/lectures. don't mind buying used/older releases. want recs on Surfaces and why I should go for them over iPads/Tablets. plus don't wanna make a FOMO-guided or uselessFeature-guided decision
